INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AS A CATALYST OF INNOVATIVE CHANGES IN ENTERPRISES

    Get PDF
The subject of this research study is the applications of Information Technology (IT) to support management. This is not the sole use of IT methods and means in enterprises, however, the issues related to the automation of technological processes and software for these purposes are not the subject of these considerations. The aim of this research study is to show the innovative role of IT as a factor that enables meeting the challenges posed by managers, such as improving work efficiency, accelerating (reducing time of) handling orders, entering into competition on previously inaccessible markets, and generating the value added, which goes far beyond the capabilities of a single business entity. The business model includes collaboration unhindered by the territorial distribution of individuals, or time zone differences. The measure of effectiveness is the achieved result, and the recipient of the value thus created is not interested in where and how this value is created. Dynamically changing market expectations and the needs of recipients force the reconfiguration of the manufacturing system, which is a feature of virtual workplaces

In 2021. European Commission formally called for a fifth industrial revolution (Industry 5.0). Discussions by participants from all over Europe in two virtual workshops organised by Directorate "Prosperity" of Directorate-General for Research and Innovation on 2 and 9 July 2020 resulted in the document "Industry 5.0: Towards a Sustainable, Human-centric, and Resilient European Industry" issued on 4 January 2021.Industry 5.0 recognises the power of industry to achieve societal goals beyond job creation and growth to become a resilient provider of well-being, making production respect the limits of the planet and placing the well-being of industrial workers at the centre of the production process. Industry 5.0 complements the existing Industry 4.0 paradigm as research and innovation drives the transition to a sustainable, human-centred and resilient European industry.Given that technological advances are changing the way value is created, exchanged and distributed, there is an urgent need to design these technologies to support future societal values. The emergence of these changes and the questions closely linked to technological innovation require industry to rethink its position and role in society. The purpose of this article is to analyse the assumptions of Industry 5.0 and compare them with the Industry 4.0 paradigm.

The paper discusses the features and usability of Electronic Performance Support Systems (EPSS) in education and improving the competence of adults. It is a serious problem for enterprises to search for employees (definite period, employment of students) for work that requires the use of business software. Learning (training) in the performance of tasks in such environment is an investment (requires time and expense). EPSS have been designed as tools to reduce the number of hours of training involving a trainer (human). These systems are coached - supported by people who use business software in their work on an ongoing basis. In the research we present how to implement them and in which way their popularization can help in hiring people without special pre-preparation, and only with the basic computer skills

The starting point is to develop a common vision of the network’s business model. On this basis, the functionality of the information subsystem should be defined

The cooperation between enterprises and the broadly understood business environment institutions (BEIs) is one of the study areas in the field of enterprise management in a turbulent environment. The problem of infiltration of BEI activities for the development of enterprises has been discussed in the subject literature, but white spots remain. The aim of the study was to identify the instruments of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) industry offered by business environment institutions to entrepreneurs aimed at developing their business. Discussion and assessment was carried out on the basis of literature and secondary sources in Polish and English, individual in-depth interview with business environment institutions (IDI) and participant observation. The direction of future empirical research was formulated, the results of which may be useful in both enterprise management and the activity of the MICE sector

Internationalization of farms involved in agricultural production requires ensuring appropriate quality of products, compliant with requirements of specific markets. Consumers from developed countries more and more often draw attention to the origin of food products and confirmation that they were produced in accordance with recognized environmental standards, while simultaneously respecting human rights. The aim of this research study was to assess the extent of changes in production technology and in the management system under conditions of implementing the GLOBAL G.A.P. system on selected fruit and vegetable farms associated in producer groups. The second aim was to evaluate the quantity of sold products along with specific certificates. The research was conducted in 2016; 91 vegetable farms and 71 fruit farms were studied. The results of the conducted research show that implementation of standards required creation of a quality management system on all the studied farms. The implementation of standards required creation of procedures for production management as well as the traceability system. The implementation of standards caused the necessity to change the infrastructure for storage and use of plant protection products and fertilizers, as well as infrastructure improving workers’ social conditions. The study results indicate that changes associated with the implementation of the GLOBAL G.A.P. standard applied more to vegetable farms than fruit farms. The implementation of the GLOBAL G.A.P. standard significantly increased producers’ chances to introduce products on the market through commercial networks and by selling them to foreign markets.
