In the present article analyzes the model itself Vermunt in the Argentine context, one from samples from two faculties of Engineering with the aim of alienating a base of theoretical and contextual let us allow the teaching optimize and learning at the university. Two cross-one studies and other longitudinally are implemented; in the first, if you compare Engineering Students -1st initial segment ANOVA (N = 149) with the end of -5 ANOVA (N = 90); in the second, the results are compared in primer year students in Agricultural Engineering Sciences: the beginning (N = 110) and end (N = 98). The instrument used was the Learning Styles Inventory, in the spanish version 2009, which permit the formation of four patterns: the meaning oriented, application oriented, reproductive and undirected. In the first study a hierarchical cluster analysis to identify patterns of learning that takes place up. In the second, the intra-Individual changes are discussed in the middle of ILS scales. In both studies concluded, the results show that the patterns that make the child clearly oriented towards the meaning and reproduction.Fil: Gonzalez, Mariela Lourdes.

    Get PDF
Effects of conjugated linoleic acid on tissular fatty acid incorporation and lipid metabolism in essential fatty acid– deficient rats The aim of this work was to investigate whether conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) may attenuate or enhance some alterations observed in rats with marginal deficiency of essential fatty acids (EFA). For this purpose, male Wistar rats were fed sufficient or deficient in EFA diets, supplemented or not with CLA, for 60 days. CLA showed different degree of incorporation into the tissues, showing a high retention in adipose tissue and noticeable resistance in brain. Moreover, independently of the EFA deficiency, CLA differentially modified the tissue biomarkers of EFA deficiency. In animals with EFA deficient diets, CLA reduced circulating triacylglycerides and adipose tissue weight; however, these changes and the increased liver size would allow postulating that a similarity with some alterations observed in the beginning of the lipodystrophy syndrome in other experimental models might be present in these rats.Fil: Fariña, Ana Clara. Thermal characterization of urban heat island (UHI) according to urban morphology of Madrid

Present research is framed within the project MODIFICA (MODelo predictivo - edIFIcios - Isla de Calor Urbana) aimed at developing a predictive model for dwelling energy performance under the urban heat island effect in order to implement it in the evaluation of real energy demand and consumption of dwellings as well as in the selection of energy retrofitting strategies. It is funded by Programa de I+D+i orientada a los retos de la sociedad 'Retos Investigación' 2013. The scope of our predictive model is defined by the heat island effect (UHI) of urban structures that compose the city of Madrid. In particular, we focus on the homogeneous areas for urban structures with the same urban and building characteristics. Data sources for the definition of such homogeneous areas were provided by previous research on the UHI of Madrid. The objective is to establish a critical analysis of climate records used for energy simulation tools, which data come from weather stations placed in decontextualized areas from the usual urban reality, where the thermal conditions differs by up to 6ºC. In this way, we intend to develop a new predictive model for the consumption and demand in buildings depending on their location, the urban structure and the associated UHI, improving the future energy rehabilitation intervention

Empirical Evidence Of Verdoorns Law In Mexican Manufacturing

    Get PDF
In this document we use the model called Verdoorns Law that has been widely favored with the empirical evidence as being able to explain the persistence of divergences in growth rates, which establishes a positive relation between product growth and productivity. The goal is to estimate the Verdoorns coefficients for the 32 states in Mexico for the period of 1985-2004 through the use of the Ordinary Least Square method (OLS) and the pool data technique for an added analysis at subsector levels of the manufacturing industry. The purpose of this paper is to explain regional divergences in Mexico by identifying those factors that influence economic growth and that would allow the proposal of regional policies that can help reduce the observed differences, and by contributing to the development of the country as a whole. Consistent results were found with Verdoorns Law by detecting increasing returns in the manufacturing industry, both by regions and by subsectors. The states that show lower Verdoons coefficients (higher returns to scale) are definitely the ones that have grown the most

    Dataset search: a survey

    Get PDF
Generating value from data requires the ability to find, access and make sense of datasets. There are many efforts underway to encourage data sharing and reuse, from scientific publishers asking authors to submit data alongside manuscripts to data marketplaces, open data portals and data communities. Google recently beta released a search service for datasets, which allows users to discover data stored in various online repositories via keyword queries. These developments foreshadow an emerging research field around dataset search or retrieval that broadly encompasses frameworks, methods and tools that help match a user data need against a collection of datasets. Here, we survey the state of the art of research and commercial systems in dataset retrieval. We identify what makes dataset search a research field in its own right, with unique challenges and methods and highlight open problems. We look at approaches and implementations from related areas dataset search is drawing upon, including information retrieval, databases, entity-centric and tabular search in order to identify possible paths to resolve these open problems as well as immediate next steps that will take the field forward.Comment: 20 pages, 153 reference
