An Approach to Characterise Cyclic Deflection of Piles in Calcareous Soil Media Under Offshore Wave Loading Conditions

    Get PDF
Behavior of piles subjected to cyclic lateral loads due to wave action is an important aspect which needs to be evaluated for analyzing and designing these piles supporting offshore structures. The study on the model piles in calcareous soil media was therefore undertaken to investigate the cyclic pile deflection response under offshore wave loading conditions. The test results are analyzed and interpreted to evolve an approach to characterize the cyclic deflection behavior of piles under critical storm loading effect and normal wave loading action

Behavioural Forensics: Revelations from CNX Nifty Analysis

Economic growth and sustainable development in financial markets are only possible when the firms show robustness and stability through the ethical way of business. However, it has been observed that certain firms take incorrect measures while running their business. This work attempts to detect threads of possible financial frauds by Didier Sornette’s drawdown approach. Select CNX Nifty 50 Mid Cap stocks are shown here as samples. Drawdown approach identifies the breakpoints and clearly detects the dates and could be linked to the anchoring and herding behaviour in certain cases. Apart from that, other financial or strategic events could be linked as well. Qualified institutional buyers and large institutional investors can use this method as a corporate governance crosscheck, from an entirely different standpoint

A New Technology of Smart Shopping Cart using RFID and ZIGBEE

Now a days it is common to see people getting enthusiast in online shopping through e-commerce websites but still the shopping centers are popular. We come across many types of carts used for shopping in malls and shopping centers. We are proposing smart shopping cart which uses the RFID and ZIGBEE technology to identify the products details and sends the data wirelessly to the receiver. We propose to have facility to browse the available products list on-screen in the display connected to the microcontroller which is situated in smart cart. The cart is interacting with the Main Server and it will have the facility to generate the bill for all the products added into the cart. The proposed system will be helpful for avoiding queues in shopping malls for billing. With the proposed design conventional queue system for billing generation and hence the shopping becomes easy and enjoyable

Nowadays world of Internet is changing towards Internet-of-Things simply called as IoT, where all things which we use in our day to day life connects to internet and can be monitor & can be operate remotely. IoT has many applications in all domains such as industrial wireless sensor network, smart homes, agriculture, etc. IoT uses standard protocols and predefined architecture for deployment using Smart technologies such as Radio Frequency Identification, Wireless Sensors, Actuators, Zigbee, etc. for communication. Applications of IoT are increasing day by day in many domains. This paper proposed an overview on architecture of IoT and technologies used in IoT. Applications of IoT, Problems in IoT and suitable solutions are also presented in this survey paper. DOI: 10.17762/ijritcc2321-8169.16041

Current Issues in Agriculture Credit in India: An Assessment

This paper attempts to analyse the issues in agricultural credit in India. The analysis reveals that the credit delivery to the agriculture sector continues to be inadequate. It appears that the banking system is still hesitant on various grounds to purvey credit to small and marginal farmers.agricultural credit , India, agriculture, sector, farmers, margnal, banking ,

Wind electric power in the world and perspectives of its development in India

    No full text
The global market for wind power is expanding faster than any other source of renewable energy. From just 4,800 MW in 1995 raise to fifteen-fold to reach 73,904 MW at the end of 2006. Top five wind electric power generating countries at the end of 2006 were Germany, Spain, United States of America (USA), India and Denmark. Since 1980s, when the first commercial wind turbine was deployed, their capacity, efficiency and visual design have all improved a lot. A modern wind turbine annually produces 180 times more electricity at less than half the cost per unit (kWh) than its equivalent twenty years ago. The largest turbines being manufactured now are of rated power of 5 MW capacity and a rotor diameter of 126 m. Modern turbines are modular and quick to install, whilst wind farms vary in size from a few MW to several hundred MW. Keeping these factors in view, an attempt has been made in this paper to present current advances in wind turbine generator technology. Wind energy scenario in the world in general and in India in particular have been presented. Further the cost components of wind turbine electric generation system have been included.Renewable energy (RE) Wind energy Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) Electricity Cost

A SURVEY ON ENERGY OPTIMIZATION IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK

    No full text
Wireless sensor network is one of the emerging technology which provides a wider range of applications like monitoring pressure, temperature water level, minerals in soil, health care etc. Generally, this network is a collection of small sensors which can sense, process and communicate the data, based on the specified application. The major constraint of this type of network is the energy consumption by the sensor nodes which is mainly responsible for the prolonging the lifetime of the network. A limited amount of energy should be utilized very efficiently so that the life of a network can be prolonged. The first section of the paper presents brief introduction about wireless sensor network and its basic features and also about the concept of clustering with its applications. The next section briefly describes about energy consumption factors in the wireless sensor network and how the energy can be utilized efficiently and effectively to prolong the life time of the network
