A Distance-Based Method for Attribute Reduction in Incomplete Decision Systems
There are limitations in recent research undertaken on attribute reduction in incomplete decision systems. In this paper, we propose a distance-based method for attribute reduction in an incomplete decision system. In addition, we prove theoretically that our method is more effective than some other methods
Image Retrieval with Relevance Feedback using SVM Active Learning
In content-based image retrieval, relevant feedback is studied extensively to narrow the gap between low-level image feature and high-level semantic concept. In general, relevance feedback aims to improve the retrieval performance by learning with user's judgements on the retrieval results. Despite widespread interest, but feedback related technologies are often faced with a few limitations. One of the most obvious limitations is often requiring the user to repeat a number of steps before obtaining the improved search results. This makes the process inefficient and tedious search for the online applications. In this paper, a effective feedback related scheme for content-based image retrieval is proposed. First, a decision boundary is learned via Support Vector Machine to filter the images in the database. Then, a ranking function for selecting the most informative samples will be calculated by defining a novel criterion that considers both the scores of Support Vector Machine function and similaritymetric between the "ideal query" and the images in the database. The experimental results on standard datasets have showed the effectiveness of the proposed method
A Method to Construct an Extension of Fuzzy Information Granularity Based on Fuzzy Distance
In fuzzy granular computing, a fuzzy granular structure is the collection of
fuzzy information granules and fuzzy information granularity is used to
measure the granulation degree of a fuzzy granular structure.
In general, the fuzzy information granularity characterizes discernibility ability
among fuzzy information granules in a fuzzy granular structure. In recent years,
researchers have proposed some concepts of fuzzy information granularity based
on partial order relations. However, the existing forms of fuzzy information granularity
have some limitations when evaluating the fineness/coarseness between two fuzzy
granular structures. In this paper, we propose an extension of fuzzy information
granularity based on a fuzzy distance measure.
We prove theoretically and experimentally that the proposed fuzzy information
granularity is the best one to distinguish fuzzy granular structures.

Factors Affecting the Perception of Happiness among Teachers in Vietnam
Vietnam is in the process of implementing education reforms in which teachers play a crucial role in determining success. This study aims to identify the main factors influencing the perception of happiness at work of Vietnamese teachers during the period of educational reform. In any period, teachers are always considered as being the force behind the success of education. Therefore, teachers' happiness is the most vital factor to be taken into consideration when educating students. Identifying the factors that affect teachers' happiness at work is the key to improving their teaching quality and quality of life. This study was conducted to investigate the factors affecting the perceived happiness of secondary school teachers in Vietnam today, thereby objectively assessing the emotional status of teachers in Vietnam in relation to the work they are doing. The results are as follows: 1) Teachers face a lot of pressure from many sides; 2) There is still a large percentage of teachers who do not really attach importance to the teaching profession; 3) State policies have not helped teachers feel secure in their professional activities; 4) Teacher capacity still needs to be greatly improved; 5) It is necessary to strengthen the connection between teachers, educational leaders, policy makers, school administrators and colleagues. This study uses descriptive statistics to present the research results. The survey was carried out in September 2021
Entanglement of a Scattered Single Photon and an Exciton
A single photon which is initially uncorrelated with an exciton will evolve to be entangled with the exciton on their continuous kinetic variables in the process of resonant scattering. We find the relations between the entanglement and their physical control parameters, which indicates that high entanglement can be reached by changing specific parameters of exciton
Whether or not the informal economy as an engine for poverty alleviation in Vietnam
This paper examines impacts of income from informal employment and informal sector employment on poverty in Vietnam to define whether the informal economy is an accelerator or a decelerator of poverty. Using data from Vietnam Household Living Standard Surveys, we find that although income from informal sources does not account for a large proportion to total income of the poor households in comparison with the non-poorhouseholds, it significantly contributes to poverty reduction. Without earnings from informal sources, 33.4 per cent of the surveyed households in 2010 live under the poverty line and this rate is only 10.34 per cent if informal income is added up. Both probit and quantile analysis affirms that informal earnings significantly mitigate poverty. Interesting findings from quantile regression are that informal earnings have divergent effects across distribution of household income. Particularly, it is a factor reducing poverty in poor households but it negatively affects the economic capacity of the rich households. The policy implication derived from empirical results is that poverty program should be associated with supporting policy for informal employees with low income so that they can improve their living standards
