A New Shape of Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Wideband Applications
A novel concept of Dielectric Resonator Antennas (DRA) is investigated. The first DRA of conical shape is investigated numerically and experimentally. The studied structure is excited by a simple slot in the ground plane. A second structure of DRA which consists of two concentrically shapes is also presented. In order to characterize both the antennas, the reflection coefficient, the radiation pattern, and the antenna gain of each proposed configuration are studied. The reasonable agreements between the measured and simulated results are observed
Outcomes of treatment of severe COVID-19 pneumonia with tocilizumab: a report of two cases from Tunisia
The SARS CoV-2 pandemic is a global health threat with high morbidity and mortality (1 to 4%) rates. COVID-19 is correlated with important immune disorders, including a “cytokine storm”. A new therapeutic approach using the immunomodulatory drug, Anti-IL6 (tocilizimub), has been proposed to regulate it. We report here the first Tunisian experience using tocilizimub in two severe cases of COVID-19 pneumonia. The diagnosis was confirmed by chest scan tomography. Biological parameters showed a high level of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) that increased significantly during hospitalization. The patients developed hypoxia, so they received intravenously 8 mg/kg body weight tocilizumab. There was a resultant decrease in the level of IL6, with clinically good evolution. Blocking the cytokine IL-6 axis is a promising therapy for patients developing COVID-19 pathology
Compact bowtie dielectric resonator antenna for broadband applications
International audienceThis paper presents a broadband conical bowtie dielectric resonator antenna operating from 4.8 to 6.3 GHz. The DRA is simply excited by a single slot fed by a microstrip feed line. It is found that the bandwidth of the proposed antenna can be as high as 29%. The antenna gain varies between 5.28 and 7.1dBi across the antenna bandwidth (4.8-6.3 GHz). The antennas have broadside radiation patterns in all cases across the matching band. The envelope size of this antenna is 65 × 50 × 9.5 mm3. The reflection coefficient, the radiation pattern and the antenna gain of the proposed configuration are studied. A reasonable agreement between the measured and simulated results is observed

A Compact Dual Band Dielectric Resonator Antenna For Wireless Applications
International audienceThis paper presents the design of a dual band rectangular Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) coupled to narrow slot aperture that is fed by microstrip line. The fundamental TE111 mode and higher-order TE113 mode are excited with their resonant frequencies respectively. These frequencies can be controlled by changing the DRA dimensions. A dielectric resonator with high permittivity is used to miniaturize the global structure. The proposed antenna is designed to have dual band operation suitable for both DCS (1710 - 1880 MHz) and WLAN (2400 - 2484 MHz) applications. The return loss, radiation pattern and gain of the proposed antenna are evaluated. Reasonable agreement between simulation and experimental results is obtained
