    Neki biološki parametri trlje blatarice Mullus barbatus L., 1758, u tuniskom zaljevu

    The red mullet, Mullus barbatus L. 1758 is one of the main target species of the trawl fishing industry along the continental shelf off the Tunisian Gulf. The reproductive biology of this species has been studied based on statistical sampling conducted between February 2003 and January 2004. Length frequency distribution according to sex revealed that the females were highly represantative in the majority of size classes. Monthly variations in the gonadosomatic index (GSI) showed that males spawn from April to July, whereas the reproductive activity of the females occurs in the late spring and summer (May and July). The estimated lengths at maturity (Lm50) were 13.87 cm for males and 13.94 cm for females. According to the length-weight relationship, positive allometry was confirmed for males, females and pooled sexes.Trlja blatarica, Mullus barbatus L. 1758 je jedna od najvažnijih komercijalnih vrsta koćarskog ribarenja duž obale tuniskog zaljeva. Reprodukcija ove vrste je istraživana na ulovljenim primjercima tijekom uzorkovanja od veljače 2003. do siječnja 2004. Ustanovljena učestalost prema duljini i spolu ukazuje da su ženke rasprostranjenije i u većini u svim razredima. Mjesečna kolebanja gonadosomatskog indeksa (GSI) pokazuju da se mužjaci mrijeste od travnja do srpnja, dok su ženke reproduktivno aktivne u kasno proljeće i ljeto (svibanj, lipanj i srpanj). Duljina pri spolnoj zrelosti (Lm50) iznosila je 13.87 cm za mužjake i 13.94 cm za ženke. Prema duljinsko-masenom odnosu, pozitivna alometrija je ustanovljena za mužjake, ženke i ukupni uzorak

    Effect of Different Near-Wall Treatments on Indoor Airflow Simulations

    Airflow simulation results depend on a good prediction of near wall turbulence. In this paper a comparative study between different near wall treatments is presented. It is applied to two test cases in building: (1) the first concerns flow through a long corridor which is similar to that in a fully developed plane channel. Simulation results are compared to direct numerical simulation (DNS) data of Moser et al. (1999) for Reτ = 590 (where Reτ denotes the friction Reynolds number defined by friction velocity uτ , kinematics viscosity ν and the channel half-width δ); (2) the second case is a benchmark test for room air distribution. Simulation results are compared to experimental data obtained with laser-Doppler anemometry (Nielsen, 1990). Simulations were performed with the aid of CFD code Fluent (2005). Near wall treatments available in Fluent were tested: Standard Wall Functions, Non Equilibrium Wall Function and Enhanced Wall Treatment. In each case, suitable meshes with adequate position of the first near-wall node are needed. Results of near-wall mean stream wise velocity u+ and turbulent kinetic energy k+ profiles are presented, variables with the superscript of + are those non dimensional by the wall friction velocity uτ and the kinematic viscosity ν

    New Synthesized Derivatives from N-Substituted-4-Oxo-[1] Benzopyrano [4,3-c] Pyrazole Influenced Proliferation, Viability, Spreading and Invasion of Human Liver Tumor Cells

    Background/Aim: There is an unsatisfied clinical demand to develop new anticancer agents. The aim of the current study was to synthesize new coumarin derivatives using two different synthetic methodologies and to evaluate their anticancer activity. Materials and methods: Four coumarin derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer activities. The structures of all compounds were confirmed by infrared (IR), UV-vis, Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) 13C NMR, 1H NMR, and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) analysis. All the synthesized compounds (4, 5, 8 and 9) were analyzed for their anti-proliferative (MTT and LDH assays and cell cycle studied with flow cytometry) and anti-invasive activity (spreading and invasion tests) on human hepatoma cell lines Huh-7 in vitro. Doxorubicin was used as control in order to compare their anti-tumoral effects. Results. All the synthesized compounds are potential inhibitors of proliferation, viability, spreading and invasion of human liver tumor cells with a 50% inhibitory Concentration range,  IC50=10.37 μM to 12.94 μM. Conclusion. This study could lead to the identification of a new target therapy for human Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or other cancers

    Formal Modeling of Greedy Behavior in Secure Internet of Things Networks

    International audienceIn the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm, objects should communicate through secure wireless channels and would be able to connect to the Internet. IEEE 802.15.4e and its old versions are the de-facto standards for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) based IoT. IEEE 802.15.4e and its old versions define a slotted CSMA-CA medium access control and physical layer of WSNs. The IoT may experience a multitude of malicious attacks. One critical attack that threatens the network availability is the greedy behavior. In this paper, we propose a UPPAAL model to describe greedy and sane behaviors of IoT devices. We are interested in the contention access period of the beacon-enabled mode of the slotted CSMA-CA. The developed model shows that we can assess and identify both honest and greedy devices. However, it is the first step towards thwarting this attack

    Network Formation in 6TiSCH Industrial Internet of Things under Misbehaved Nodes

    International audienceTime Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) is a new Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol proposed by the IEEE 802.15.4e standard. It is designed to meet the requirements of industrial networks, such as high Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) and bounded delays, along with low energy consumption. TSCH is now the basis of a full stack for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) proposed by the International Engineering Task Force (IETF), known as 6TiSCH (IPv6 over the TSCH mode of IEEE 802.15.4e). Since 6TiSCH networks are expected to offer high performance and fast bootstrapping, the network formation time could be impacted by the network size and the rate of control packets. In this paper, we demonstrate that non cooperative nodes, which can be malicious, could also drastically increase the network joining time. First, we propose the attack model and its implementation on the 6TiSCH simulator. Then, we carry out a set of experiments for different network sizes. Finally, we show through simulation results the impact of the proposed attack on the joining time
