RICERCHE SUGLI HYMENOPTERA CHALCIDOIDEA XX. Le specie paleartiche del genere Lymaenon Walker (Mymaridae) gruppo longicauda (Enock), con descrizione di nuove specie.

Dopo alcune considerazioni sulla controversa interpretazione del genere Gonatocerus Nees, l'A. dà una nuova definizione di Lymaenon- gruppo longicauda (Enock). Alcune specie del gruppo sono revisionate (Lymaenon tremulae Bakk.; L. ovicenatus - Leon. Crosby) e due nuove specie sono descritte e figurate (L. populi, n. sp.; L. crassicornis, n. sp.). After some considerations on the controversial interpretation of the genus Gonatocerus Nees, the A. gives a new definition of Lymaenon-group longicauda (Enock). Some palaearctic species of this group are reviewed (Lymaenon tremulae Bakk. and L. ovicenatus - Leon. Crosby -) and two new species are described and figured (L. populi, n. sp.; L. crassicornis, n. sp.)

First record of Gonatocerus litoralis (Haliday) (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) from Anoplotettix putoni Ribaut (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae)

The mymarid Gonatocerus litoralis (Haliday) is recorded for the first time as an egg parasitoid of the leafhopper Anoplotettix putoni Ribaut. A study of the main morphological characters shows unusual variation in distribution of the multiporous plate sensilla on the antenna and relative length of the ovipositor. The parasitoid overwinters as an immature within the host egg and the adult emerges from late April to early July, which coincides with oviposition by the leafhopper into grapevine bark

Whitefly parasitoids from the Maltese Islands

Nine whitefly parasitoids in three different families (Aphelinidae, Eulophidae and Platygasteridae) are recorded from the Maltese Islands. An Amitus sp. and a Euderomphale sp. are recorded for the first time as occuring on Tetralicia ericae Harrison. The first findings of egg-parasitoids of the invasive planthopper Ricania speculum (Walker) (Hemiptera Ricaniidae) are presented. Aprostocetus (Ootetrastichus) crino (Walker) (Hymenoptera Eulophidae), a native species until now only associated with Oecanthus spp. (Orthoptera Oecanthidae) eggs, was the most common. Chaetostricha similis (Silvestri) (Hymenoptera Trichogrammatidae) and Polynema sp. (Hymenoptera Mymaridae), which also emerged from R. speculum egg clusters, should be confirmed as parasitoids of this planthopper
