Analytic Periods via Twisted Symmetric Squares

We study the symmetric square of Picard-Fuchs operators of genus one curves and the thereby induced generalized Clausen identities. This allows the computation of analytic expressions for the periods of all one-parameter K3 manifolds in terms of elliptic integrals. The resulting expressions are globally valid throughout the moduli space and allow the explicit inversion of the mirror map and the exact computation of distances, useful for checks of the Swampland Distance Conjecture. Modified Clebsch-Gordan-type expansions for products of discrete hypergeometric polynomials

Starting from the second-order difference hypergeometric equation satisfied by the set of discrete orthogonal polynomials ∗pn∗, we find the analytical expressions of the expansion coefficients of any polynomial rm(x) and of the product rm(x)qj(x) in series of the set ∗pn∗. These coefficients are given in terms of the polynomial coefficients of the second-order difference equations satisfied by the involved discrete hypergeometric polynomials. Here qj(x) denotes an arbitrary discrete hypergeometric polynomial of degree j. The particular cases in which ∗rm∗ corresponds to the non-orthogonal families ∗xm∗, the rising factorials or Pochhammer polynomials ∗(x)m∗ and the falling factorial or Stirling polynomials ∗x[m]∗ are considered in detail. The connection problem between discrete hypergeometric polynomials, which here corresponds to the product case with m = 0, is also studied and its complete solution for all the classical discrete orthogonal hypergeometric (CDOH) polynomials is given. Karst y paleokarst de Sierra Morena (Sector Ossa-Morena, Hespérico meridional)

Se presenta una síntesis del karst y paleokarst del sector Ossa-Morena, desarrollado sobre calizas y dolomías del Cámbrico Inferior. Su distribución abarca sectores de las provincias de Huelva, Sevilla y Córdoba. Entre los elementos más significativos destacan las superficies corrosivas, paleopoljes y paleovalles, junto con formaciones superficiales, como travertinos y terra rossa. En todos los casos, sobresale la estrecha relación entre la estructura tectónica y la compartimentación de las manifestaciones exokársticas y endokársticas de la Sierra.In the present work a synthesis about karst and paleokarst on limenstones and dolomites of Cambrian age in Ossa-Morena zone is carried out. Its distribution is located in different areas of Huelva, Sevilla and Córdoba provinces. Among other important elements are weathering surfaces, palaeopoljes, palaeovalleys and other surficial deposits (travertines and terra rossa). In all the studied cases, there is an important relationship between tectonic stucture and different karst processes

Two new feature selection algorithms with rough sets theory

Rough Sets Theory has opened new trends for the development of the Incomplete Information Theory. Inside this one, the notion of reduct is a very significant one, but to obtain a reduct in a decision system is an expensive computing process although very important in data analysis and knowledge discovery. Because of this, it has been necessary the development of different variants to calculate reducts. The present work look into the utility that offers Rough Sets Model and Information Theory in feature selection and a new method is presented with the purpose of calculate a good reduct. This new method consists of a greedy algorithm that uses heuristics to work out a good reduct in acceptable times. In this paper we propose other method to find good reducts, this method combines elements of Genetic Algorithm with Estimation of Distribution Algorithms. Rosario Fadul C. (biografía): Fue profesora de enfermería pasiquiátrica en la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo. Realizó un posgrado en terapia marital y sexual en el Instituto APEC de Educación Sexual (INSAPEC). Actualmente dirigie el Instituto de Sexualidad Humana de la UASD y es coordinadora de su programa de maestría en terapia familiar. Junto con el Dr. Rafael García Álvarez escribió el libro "Lo que quiero saber sobre el sexo: guía de respuestas a las inquietudes privadas de tu intimidad". Otras obras suyas son: "Conducta sexual del adolescente dominicano" (en coautoría con Rafael García, Antonio de Moya, Elizabeth Gómez y Edward Herold) y "Sosúa Sanky-Pankies and Female Sex Workers" (en coautoría con Antonio de Moya, Rafael García y Edward Herold)............./.............Rafael García Álvarez (biografía): Médico psiquiatra de nacionalidad dominicana. La hipótesis, comprobada por los resultados, sostiene que el nivel educacional de la mujer incide en su respuesta sexual. Limitándose a mujeres dominicanas de clase alta y entre los 20 y los 45 años de edad, el estudio asociativo comparó las diferencias que se dan, en el ámbito de la respuesta sexual, y particularmente en el logro del orgasmo, entre quienes solo son bachilleras y quienes tienen estudios universitarios. También se consideraron las variables del nivel educativo de los progenitores, el nivel de satisfacción de la primera relación sexual y la actitud del compañero, todas las cuales mostraron incidir positivamente en el fenómeno estudiado. Estos resultados son contestes con la comprobación hecha por la psicología y la sexología de que la conducta sexual humana no solo es el producto de factores biológicos, sino también de factores psicológicos, ambientales y culturales
