Projeto de reabilitação das Tercenas do bairro de Santos

Dissertação de Mestrado Integrado em Arquitetura, com a especialização em Arquitetura apresentada na Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa para obtenção do grau de Mestre.Lisboa é uma cidade cuja história e desenvolvimento estão profundamente associados à sua topografia acidentada e à sua frente ribeirinha. A sua linha de costa passou por sucessivas configurações espaciais desde as primeiras ocupações no território até os dias atuais. Os aterros que vieram a alterar sucessivamente a morfologia entre os limites da cidade e o rio Tejo geraram uma nova faixa urbanizável, onde persistem preexistências retidas num novo contexto. É dentro desse território particular que se insere o objeto deste estudo. As Tercenas do Marquês, situadas no bairro de Santos, são um fragmento de quando as embarcações e galés acercavam-se à zona ribeirinha de Lisboa, numa relação muito estreita. Esta zona da cidade passou por diversas modificações no seu território, desde as primeiras referências que se tem conhecimento, até atualmente, quando o tecido urbano se mostra densamente consolidado. A problemática deste trabalho reside na falta de adequação do conjunto das Tercenas do Marquês ao novo contexto urbano. Tal situação foi verificada pela primeira fase metodológica dessa investigação, que consistiu em rever a literatura histórica e cartográfica do bairro de Santos. Na segunda fase da investigação foi elaborada a proposta de requalificação, que consiste numa combinação entre duas vertentes de intervenção: reabilitação do conjunto das Tercenas do Marquês e um novo edifício na sua envolvente mais imediata. Ambos configuram uma unidade fomentadora do trabalho e da produção criativa, com espaços oficinais e ateliers. O complexo procura estabelecer uma nova fonte dinamizadora da frente ribeirinha de Santos, constituindo um motivo para percorrer o que correspondia à antiga orla ribeirinha de Lisboa.ABSTRACT: Lisbon is a city whose history and development are deeply associated with its rugged topography and its riverside front. Its coastline has undergone successive spatial configurations from the earliest occupations in the territory to the present day. The waterfront landfills have successively changed the morphology between the boundaries of the city and the Tagus River hence continuously generating a new urbanized area where previous constructions remain retained in a new urban context. It is within this particular territory that the object of this study is inserted. The Tercenas do Marquês, located in the district of Santos, are a fragment of the time when ships approached Lisbon´s riverside, in a very close relation. This area of the city has experienced several modifications in its territory, from the first references that are known, until today, when the urban fabric is shown densely consolidated. The problem of this work lies within the lack of adaptation of the Tercenas do Marquês in the new urban context. This situation was documented in the first methodological phase of this work, which consisted in analysing Santo’s historical and cartographic bibliography. In the second phase of this work, the proposal for requalification was developed, which consists of a combination of two intervention sorts: the rehabilitation of the Tercenas do Marquês and a new building in its immediate surroundings. Both establishes a single unit that benefits work and creative production. The building complex seeks to create a new source of liveliness in the riverside front of Santos, revisiting at the same time, what corresponded to the old riverside of Lisbon.N/

PRINCÍPIO DA EFICIÊNCIA NOS ATOS ADMINISTRATIVOS DE IMPÉRIO: POR UMA GESTÃO INOVADORA E UM NOVO MODELO DE UNIVERSIDADE

Trata o presente de uma pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa analisando o princípio da eficiência na Gestão Pública de uma universidade que atua na interface com outras organizações do setor privado, quais seja, o registro de diplomas dos cursos de graduação. Nossa pesquisa demonstra a capilaridade da execução exercida no nível operacional e a inconveniência da lentidão e demora na prestação de serviço, fatores que podem obstruir a boa gestão, planejada no nível estratégico. Para atestar essa dinâmica o artigo tem como objetivos avaliar o fluxo de operações envolvidas na prestação do serviço público, identificar os entraves ou gargalos que ocasionam paralisia no serviço e propor melhorias na execução dos atos de império. Como resultado, propôs uma intervenção na gestão através de um processo de melhoria nas instituições envolvidas, aplicando um método inovador e que fez os índices de retrabalho diminuírem

The angular scale of homogeneity with SDSS-IV DR16 Luminous Red Galaxies

We report measurements of the angular scale of cosmic homogeneity ($\theta_{H}$) using the recently released luminous red galaxy sample of the sixteenth data release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV LRG DR16). It consists of a model-independent method, as we only use the celestial coordinates of these objects to carry out such an analysis. The observational data is divided into thin redshift bins, namely $0.67<z<0.68$, $0.70<z<0.71$, and $0.73<z<0.74$, in order to avoid projection biases, and we estimate our uncertainties through a bootstrap method and a suite of mock catalogues. We find that the LRGs exhibit an angular scale of homogeneity consistent with the predictions of the standard cosmology within the redshift interval studied. Considering the bootstrap method, in which the measurements are obtained in a model-independent way, we found at 1$\sigma$ level that $\theta_H^{boot}(0.675) = 7.57 \pm 2.91$ deg, $\theta_H^{boot} (0.705) = 7.49 \pm 2.63$ deg and $\theta_H^{boot} (0.735) = 8.88 \pm 2.81$ deg. Such results are in good agreement with the ones obtained using mock catalogues built under the assumption of the standard cosmological model.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, 3 tables. Redefining the role of ectoderm in somitogenesis: a player in the formation of the fibronectin matrix of presomitic mesoderm

The absence of ectoderm impairs somite formation in cultured presomitic mesoderm (PSM) explants, suggesting that an ectoderm-derived signal is essential for somitogenesis. Here we show in chick that the standard enzymatic treatments used for explant isolation destroy the fibronectin matrix surrounding the anterior PSM, which fails to form somites when cultured for 6 hours. By contrast, explants isolated with collagenase retain their fibronectin matrix and form somites under identical culture conditions. The additional presence of ectoderm enhances somite formation, whereas endoderm has no effect. Furthermore, we show that pancreatin-isolated PSM explants cultured in fibronectin-supplemented medium, form significantly more somites than control explants. Interestingly, ectoderm is the major producer of fibronectin (Fn1) transcripts, whereas all but the anterior-most region of the PSM expresses the fibronectin assembly receptor, integrin alpha5 (Itga5). We thus propose that the ectoderm-derived fibronectin is assembled by mesodermal alpha5beta1 integrin on the surface of the PSM. Finally, we demonstrate that inhibition of fibronectin fibrillogenesis in explants with ectoderm abrogates somitogenesis. Can the angular scale of cosmic homogeneity be used as a cosmological test?

In standard cosmology, the cosmic homogeneity scale is the transition scale above which the patterns arising from non-uniformities -- such as groups and clusters of galaxies, voids, and filaments -- become indistinguishable from a random distribution of sources. Recently, different groups have investigated the feasibility of using such a scale as a cosmological test and arrived at different conclusions. In this paper, we complement and extend these studies by exploring the evolution of the spatial (${\cal{R}}_H$) and angular ($\theta_H$) homogeneity scales with redshift, assuming a spatially flat, $\Lambda$-Cold Dark Matter %($\Lambda$CDM) universe and linear cosmological perturbation theory. We confirm previous results concerning the non-monotonicity of ${\cal{R}}_H$ with the matter density parameter $\Omega_{m0}$ but also show that it exhibits a monotonical behavior with the Hubble constant $H_0$ within a large redshift interval. More importantly, we find that, for $z \gtrsim 0.6$, the angular homogeneity scale not only presents a monotonical behavior with $\Omega_{m0}$ and $H_0$ but is quite sensitive to $H_0$, especially at higher redshifts. These results, therefore, raise the possibility of using $\theta_H$ as a new, model-independent way to constrain cosmological parameters.Comment: 10 pages, 24 figure

Abuso sexual na infância: potencial da narrativa na vivência de criança

O presente artigo refere-se a um estudo de caso e tem como objetivo principal analisar a construção de sentidos por uma criança vítima de abuso sexual. O estudo traz contribuições da perspectiva histórico-cultural, em articulação com a teoria das representações sociais e estudos sobre narrativa. Objetiva-se investigar o potencial da narrativa enquanto atividade-guia capaz de suscitar processos terapêuticos, mediação no contexto da hospitalização de crianças e atuar na iminência de processos de significação. O procedimento metodológico adotado foi inspirado nos estudos microgenéticos e compreendeu a realização de encontros psicoterapêuticos individuais e em grupo. Os mesmos priorizaram a mediação em contexto lúdico e encorajador da produção de narrativas pela criança. As notas de campo foram analisadas compreensivamente a partir da definição de episódios de acordo com o conteúdo semântico, recorrência e a carga afetiva empreendida nos processos comunicacionais.&nbsp; Os dados revelaram que narrativas preexistentes no ambiente hospitalar e amplamente socializadas no âmbito do acolhimento a crianças hospitalizadas são internalizadas e recriadas pela criança, estas ainda podem atuar na iminência da elaboração das suas vivências mais íntimas e suscitar processos de metaforização espontânea

JOGO ENTREGA RELATIVA PARA AUXILIAR O ENSINO DA TEORIA DA RELATIVIDADE RESTRITA, A PARTIR DA PERSPECTIVA DOS SISTEMAS DE NAVEGAÇÃO POR SATÉLITE

Special relativity is a subject not always introduced to the students of the final years of the basic education on Brazil due to the lack of time as much as the small number of pages related to the matter on the textbooks. With the Novo “Ensino Médio” and its new formative itinerary, the “Plano Nacional do Livro Didático” is divided into two objects, the first being that of integrative projects and the second, the textbook by area of knowledge. In view of the importance of the theme and its applications within society, the object 1 – Book of integrative projects was analyzed to assess how much the theory of relativity is approached and which projects are suggested, however it was observed that this theme is not explored and often not mentioned. Thus, the proposal for a sequence of four classes is presented, based on the application of a board game based on the operation of Satellite Navigation Systems (GNSS), as an alternative for the teaching of general and special relativity in classes of the final years of the basic education. To bring the content closer to the student's reality, a questionnaire was applied on geolocated delivery and private driver applications in order to insert it in the context of the game, aiming at the students’ reflection on the impact of technologies on society, without neglecting the struggles lived by the providers of these services.O conteúdo de relatividade restrita e geral nem sempre é apresentado aos alunos do ensino médio devido à falta de tempo e as poucas páginas relacionadas ao assunto nos livros didáticos. Com o novo ensino médio e os seus itinerários formativos, o Plano Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD) 2021 está dividido em dois objetos, sendo o primeiro o dos projetos integradores e, o segundo, o livro didático por área do conhecimento. Tendo em vista a importância do tema e a sua aplicabilidade dentro da sociedadeque esse tema não é explorado e, muitas vezes, nem citado. Dessa forma, apresenta-se a proposta de uma sequência de quatro aulas, que é a aplicação de um jogo de tabuleiro baseado no funcionamento dos Sistemas de Navegação por Satélite (GNSS), como alternativa para o ensino da relatividade restrita e geral em turmas do ensino médio. Com o intuito de aproximar o conteúdo da realidade do estudante foi aplicado um questionário sobre os aplicativos geolocalizados de delivery e motorista particular a fim de inseri-lo no contexto do jogo, visando a reflexão dos estudantes sobre o impacto das tecnologias na sociedade, sem negligenciar as dificuldades encontradas pelos prestadores desses serviços
