Este estudio longitudinal examina y documenta el proceso de viviendas construidas incrementalmente por familias de escasos recursos durante los últimos cuarenta años. Tiene los objetivos de evaluar las viviendas auto-construidas y recomendar opciones estratégicas para apoyar y hacer más eficiente las estrategias incrementales y determinar cómo los procesos de vivienda incremental pueden ser incluidos en políticas nacionales para la vivienda de bajos ingresos en países en desarrollo que sufren de grandes déficits en vivienda urbana.
