Recovering the Internal Dynamics and the Shapes of Galaxy Clusters: Virgo Cluster
We describe a method for recovering of the substructure, internal dynamics
and geometrical shapes of clusters of galaxies. Applying the method to the
Virgo cluster, we, first, reveal the substructure of the central 4 arc degree
field of the Virgo cluster by means of S-tree technique. The existence of three
main subgroups of galaxies is revealed and their dynamical characteristics are
estimated. Then, using the previously suggested technique (Gurzadyan and Rauzy
1997), the bulk flow velocities of the subgroups are evaluated based on the
distribution of the redshifts of the galaxies. The results enable us also to
obtain a secure indication of the elongation of the Virgo cluster and its
positional inclination.Comment: to appear in Int.Journ.Mod.Phys.
Simulation of Chua's Circuit by Means of Interval Analysis
The Chua's circuit is a paradigm for nonlinear scientific studies. It is
usually simulated by means of numerical methods under IEEE 754-2008 standard.
Although the error propagation problem is well known, little attention has been
given to the relationship between this error and inequalities presented in
Chua's circuit model. Taking the average of round mode towards and
, we showed a qualitative change on the dynamics of Chua's circuit.Comment: 6th International Conference on Nonlinear Science and Complexity -

Zero-brane approach to quantization of biscalar field theory about topological kink-bell solution
We study the properties of the topologically nontrivial doublet solution
arisen in the biscalar theory with a fourth-power potential introducing an
example of the spontaneous breaking of symmetry. We rule out the zero-brane
(non-minimal point particle) action for this doublet as a particle with
curvature. When quantizing it as the theory with higher derivatives, we
calculate the quantum corrections to the mass of the doublet which could not be
obtained by means of the perturbation theory.Comment: some references were adde
Use of leaning vanes in a two stage fan
The use of leaning vanes for tone noise reduction was examined in terms of their application in a typical two-stage high pressure ratio fan. In particular for stages designed with outlet guide vanes and zero swirl between stages, leaning the vanes of the first stage stator was studied, since increasing the number of vanes and the gap between stages do not provide the desired advantage. It was shown that noise reduction at higher harmonics of blade passing frequency can be obtained by leaning the vanes
Q2237+0305 source structure and dimensions from light curves simulation
Assuming a two-component quasar structure model consisting of a central
compact source and an extended outer feature, we produce microlensing
simulations for a population of star-like objects in the lens galaxy. Such a
model is a simplified version of that adopted to explain the brightness
variations observed in Q0957 (Schild & Vakulik 2003). The microlensing light
curves generated for a range of source parameters were compared to the light
curves obtained in the framework of the OGLE program. With a large number of
trials we built, in the domain of the source structure parameters, probability
distributions to find "good" realizations of light curves. The values of the
source parameters which provide the maximum of the joint probability
distribution calculated for all the image components, have been accepted as
estimates for the source structure parameters. The results favour the
two-component model of the quasar brightness structure over a single compact
central source model, and in general the simulations confirm the Schild-Vakulik
model that previously described successfully the microlensing and other
properties of Q0957. Adopting 3300 km/s for the transverse velocity of the
source, the effective size of the central source was determined to be about
2x10^15 cm, and Epsilon =2 was obtained for the ratio of the integral
luminosity of the outer feature to that of the central source.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figures, LaTe
