    Heuristic environment as condition of art criticism competence development for future teachers

    Essential factor of professionally significant competences development of future art direction teachers is the educational environment as which it is necessary to understand the integrity of pedagogical conditions, interactions, processes, components of pedagogical process which is specially organized for achievement of the educational purposes. Results of a theoretical research which purpose was studying characteristics of the heuristic environment as conditions of development of competences of future art direction teachers are presented in article. The main intrinsic characteristic of the heuristic educational environment is the following: recognition of value of creative activity of subjects of educational process; implementation of stimulation, support and encouragement of creative activity of students; granting opportunities for inclusion in creative activity. The empirical research was directed to studying influence of specially organized heuristic educational environment on development of art criticism competence of future art direction teachers. Testing, observation, method of expert evaluations of results of creative activity were used by us for realization of a pedagogical experiment. The conducted research allowed to reveal that specially organized heuristic environment promotes high-quality development of art criticism competence which is shown in the following: future art direction teachers acquire culturological and art criticism contents at the levels above an average and high; barriers to transition to creative activity in the field of art criticism are broken; personalization of development of art criticism competence is carried out. Keywords: educational environment, heuristics, heuristic environment, art criticism competenc

    High frequency polarization switching of a thin ferroelectric film

    We consider both experimentally and analytically the transient oscillatory process that arises when a rapid change in voltage is applied to a BaxSr1xTiO3Ba_xSr_{1-x}TiO_3 ferroelectric thin film deposited on an Mg0Mg0 substrate. High frequency (108rad/s\approx 10^{8} rad/s) polarization oscillations are observed in the ferroelectric sample. These can be understood using a simple field-polarization model. In particular we obtain analytic expressions for the oscillation frequency and the decay time of the polarization fluctuation in terms of the material parameters. These estimations agree well with the experimental results

    Hernia or hernia Defect? Experimental herniology Models in Laboratory Animals

    Hernias of the anterior abdominal wall remain one of the most common surgery pathologies. There is no unified approach to modeling anterior abdominal wall hernias in the world scientific community. In order to systematize the available knowledge in this field and to contribute to the formation of a unified idea of how to create a hernia model in a laboratory animal, it seems logical to study the accumulated experience of researchers in the field of experimental herniology. We found out that hernia defects generally modeled on male laboratory rats. To understand the tissue reaction to the prosthetic material a fenestration was performed in the anterior abdominal wall (including peritoneum) except for the skin and subcutaneous fat. A replacement or prosthetic material tailored to the fenestration was sutured end-to-end into the abdominal wall. We chose laboratory rats because they are easy to take care of and cheaper than larger laboratory animals

    Introducing Quantum Technologies at Secondary School Level: Challenges and Potential Impact of an Online Extracurricular Course

    Stimulated by the European project “QTEdu CSA”, within the flagship “Quantum Technologies”, a community of researchers active in the fields of quantum technologies and physics education has designed and implemented an extracurricular course on quantum physics concepts and quantum technologies applications for high school. The course, which featured eight interactive lectures, was organized online between March and May 2021 and attended by about 250 students from all over Italy. In this paper, we describe the main tenets and activities of the course. Moreover, we report on the effectiveness of the course on students’ knowledge of the basic concepts of quantum physics and students’ views about epistemic aspects and applications of quantum technologies. Results show that the designed activities were effective in improving students’ knowledge about fundamental aspects of quantum mechanics and familiarizing them with quantum technology applications

    Ultrafast optical generation of coherent phonons in CdTe1-xSex quantum dots

    We report on the impulsive generation of coherent optical phonons in CdTe0.68Se0.32 nanocrystallites embedded in a glass matrix. Pump probe experiments using femtosecond laser pulses were performed by tuning the laser central energy to resonate with the absorption edge of the nanocrystals. We identify two longitudinal optical phonons, one longitudinal acoustic phonon and a fourth mode of a mixed longitudinal-transverse nature. The amplitude of the optical phonons as a function of the laser central energy exhibits a resonance that is well described by a model based on impulsive stimulated Raman scattering. The phases of the coherent phonons reveal coupling between different modes. At low power density excitations, the frequency of the optical coherent phonons deviates from values obtained from spontaneous Raman scattering. This behavior is ascribed to the presence of electronic impurity states which modify the nanocrystal dielectric function and, thereby, the frequency of the infrared-active phonons

    DC-electric-field-induced and low-frequency electromodulation second-harmonic generation spectroscopy of Si(001)-SiO2_2 interfaces

    The mechanism of DC-Electric-Field-Induced Second-Harmonic (EFISH) generation at weakly nonlinear buried Si(001)-SiO2_2 interfaces is studied experimentally in planar Si(001)-SiO2_2-Cr MOS structures by optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) spectroscopy with a tunable Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser. The spectral dependence of the EFISH contribution near the direct two-photon E1E_1 transition of silicon is extracted. A systematic phenomenological model of the EFISH phenomenon, including a detailed description of the space charge region (SCR) at the semiconductor-dielectric interface in accumulation, depletion, and inversion regimes, has been developed. The influence of surface quantization effects, interface states, charge traps in the oxide layer, doping concentration and oxide thickness on nonlocal screening of the DC-electric field and on breaking of inversion symmetry in the SCR is considered. The model describes EFISH generation in the SCR using a Green function formalism which takes into account all retardation and absorption effects of the fundamental and second harmonic (SH) waves, optical interference between field-dependent and field-independent contributions to the SH field and multiple reflection interference in the SiO2_2 layer. Good agreement between the phenomenological model and our recent and new EFISH spectroscopic results is demonstrated. Finally, low-frequency electromodulated EFISH is demonstrated as a useful differential spectroscopic technique for studies of the Si-SiO2_2 interface in silicon-based MOS structures.Comment: 31 pages, 14 figures, 1 table, figures are also available at http://kali.ilc.msu.su/articles/50/efish.ht

    Contrast-induced encephalopathy (CIE) is a rare complication of contrast media (CM) injected either in cerebral arteries or extracerebral ones. Diagnosis of CIE is often complicated by ruling out stroke and intracranial hemorrhage. Based on own clinical case and literature analysis we have proposed the conception of accidental and determinate CIE, defined the threshold volumes of CM and described typical clinical manifestation. The role of blood-brain barrier state and kidney excretion function underlined.Контраст-индуцированная энцефалопатия (КИЭ) является редким осложнением внутрисосудистого введения контрастирующих веществ (КВ) как в церебральные артерии, так и сосуды других органов. Установление диагноза КиЭ нередко представляет значительные сложности, требует проведения дифференциальной диагностики с ишемическими и геморрагическими осложнениями. На основании представленного клинического наблюдения и анализа данных литературы предложена концепция стохастической и детерминированной КиЭ, определены пороговые значения объемов КВ, описаны характерные клинические проявления. Подчеркивается роль состояния гематоэнцефалического барьера и экскреторной функции почек в развитии КИЭ

    An approach for the identification of targets specific to bone metastasis using cancer genes interactome and gene ontology analysis

    Metastasis is one of the most enigmatic aspects of cancer pathogenesis and is a major cause of cancer-associated mortality. Secondary bone cancer (SBC) is a complex disease caused by metastasis of tumor cells from their primary site and is characterized by intricate interplay of molecular interactions. Identification of targets for multifactorial diseases such as SBC, the most frequent complication of breast and prostate cancers, is a challenge. Towards achieving our aim of identification of targets specific to SBC, we constructed a 'Cancer Genes Network', a representative protein interactome of cancer genes. Using graph theoretical methods, we obtained a set of key genes that are relevant for generic mechanisms of cancers and have a role in biological essentiality. We also compiled a curated dataset of 391 SBC genes from published literature which serves as a basis of ontological correlates of secondary bone cancer. Building on these results, we implement a strategy based on generic cancer genes, SBC genes and gene ontology enrichment method, to obtain a set of targets that are specific to bone metastasis. Through this study, we present an approach for probing one of the major complications in cancers, namely, metastasis. The results on genes that play generic roles in cancer phenotype, obtained by network analysis of 'Cancer Genes Network', have broader implications in understanding the role of molecular regulators in mechanisms of cancers.
