Spin Polarization and Magneto-Coulomb Oscillations in Ferromagnetic Single Electron Devices
The magneto-Coulomb oscillation, the single electron repopulation induced by
external magnetic field, observed in a ferromagnetic single electron transistor
is further examined in various ferromagnetic single electron devices. In case
of double- and triple-junction devices made of Ni and Co electrodes, the single
electron repopulation always occurs from Ni to Co electrodes with increasing a
magnetic field, irrespective of the configurations of the electrodes. The
period of the magneto-Coulomb oscillation is proportional to the single
electron charging energy. All these features are consistently explained by the
mechanism that the Zeeman effect induces changes of the Fermi energy of the
ferromagnetic metal having a non-zero spin polarizations. Experimentally
determined spin polarizations are negative for both Ni and Co and the magnitude

Magneto-Coulomb Oscillation in Ferromagnetic Single Electron Transistors
The mechanism of the magneto-Coulomb oscillation in ferromagnetic single
electron transistors (SET's) is theoretically considered. Variations in the
chemical potentials of the conduction electrons in the ferromagnetic island
electrode and the ferromagnetic lead electrodes in magnetic fields cause
changes in the free energy of the island electrode of the SET. Experimental
results of the magneto-Coulomb oscillation in a Ni/Co/Ni ferromagnetic SET are
presented and discussed. Possible applications of this phenomenon are also

Dilution of the magnetic lattice in the Kitaev candidate -RuCl by Rh doping
Magnetic dilution of a well-established Kitaev candidate system is realized
in the substitutional RuRhCl series (). Optimized
syntheses protocols yield uniformly-doped single crystals and polycrystalline
powders that are isostructural to the parental -RuCl as per X-ray
diffraction. The Rh content is accurately determined by the quantitative
energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy technique with standards. We determine the
magnetic phase diagram of RuRhCl for in-plane magnetic fields
from magnetization and specific-heat measurements as a function of and
stacking periodicity, and identify the suppression of the magnetic order at towards a disordered phase, which does not show any clear
signature of freezing into a spin glass. Comparing with previous studies on the
substitution series RuIrCl, we propose that chemical pressure
would contribute to the suppression of magnetic order especially in
RuIrCl and that the zigzag magnetic ground state appears to be
relatively robust with respect to the dilution of the
Kitaev----Heisenberg magnetic lattice. We also discovered a slight
dependence of the magnetic properties on thermal cycling, which would be due to
an incomplete structural transition
First study of \eta_c, \eta(1760) and X(1835) production via \eta'\pi^+\pi^- final states in two-photon collisions
The invariant mass spectrum of the \eta' \pi^+ \pi^- final state produced in
two-photon collisions is obtained using a 673 fb^{-1} data sample collected in
the vicinity of the \Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB
asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider. We observe a clear signal of the \eta_c and
measure its mass and width to be M(\eta_c)=(2982.7 +- 1.8(stat) +- 2.2(syst) +-
0.3(model)) MeV/c^2 and \Gamma(\eta_c) = (37.8^{+5.8}_{-5.3}(stat) +- 2.8(syst)
+- 1.4(model)) MeV/c^2. The third error is an uncertainty due to possible
interference between the \eta_c and a non-resonant component. We also report
the first evidence for \eta(1760) decay to \eta' \pi^+ \pi^-; we find two
solutions for its parameters, depending on the inclusion or not of the X(1835),
whose existence is of marginal significance in our data. From a fit to the mass
spectrum using coherent X(1835) and \eta(1760) resonant amplitudes, we set a
90% confidence level upper limit on the product \Gamma_{\gamma\gamma} \BR
(\eta' \pi^+ \pi^-) for the X(1835).Comment: 13 pages, 7 figures, submitted to PR
Search for leptonic decays of D0 mesons
We search for the flavor-changing neutral current decays D0\to mu+mu- and
D0\to e+e-, and for the lepton-flavor violating decays D0\to e\pm mu\mp using
660 fb^-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB
asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We find no evidence for any of these decays.
We obtain significantly improved upper limits on the branching fractions:
B(D0\to mu+mu-)<1.4x10-7, B(D0\to e+e-)<7.9x10-8, and B(D0\to e+mu-)+B(D0\to
mu+e-)<2.6x10-7 at 90% confidence level.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

statistically significant signal is found and a 90% confidence-level upper

Search for CP violation in tau -> K^0_S pi nu_tau decays at Belle
We report on a search for CP violation in tau -> K^0_S pi nu_tau decays using
a data sample of 699 fb^{-1} collected in the Belle experiment at the KEKB
electron-positron asymmetric-energy collider. The CP asymmetry is measured in
four bins of the invariant mass of the K^0_S pi system and found to be
compatible with zero with a precision of O(10^{-3}) in each mass bin. Limits
for the CP violation parameter Im(eta_S) are given at a 90 % confidence level.
These limits are |Im(eta_S)|<0.026 or better, depending on the parameterization
used to describe the hadronic form factors and improve upon previous limits by
one order of magnitude
Search for B+ -> l+ nu gamma decays with hadronic tagging using the full Belle data sample
We search for the decay B+ -> l+ nu gamma with l+ = e+ or mu+ using the full
Belle data set of 772 x 10^6 BBbar pairs, collected at the Y(4S) resonance with
the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We reconstruct
one B meson in a hadronic decay mode and search for the B+ -> l+ nu gamma decay
in the remainder of the event. We observe no significant signal within the
phase space of E_gamma^sig > 1 GeV and obtain upper limits of BR(B+ -> e+ nu
gamma) mu+ nu gamma) l+ nu
gamma) < 3.5 x 10^-6 at 90 % credibility level.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Rev.
Study of Excited States Decaying into and Baryons
Using a data sample of 980 of annihilation data
taken with the Belle detector operating at the KEKB asymmetric-energy
collider, we report the results of a study of excited states that
decay, via the emission of photons and/or charged pions, into or
ground state charmed-strange baryons. We present new measurements of
the masses of all members of the , ,
, , and isodoublets, measurements of
the intrinsic widths of those that decay strongly, and evidence of previously
