In this report we have made a systematic study of strangeness production in proton-proton(pp),proton-nucleus(pA) and nucleus- nucleus(AA) collisions at CERN Super Proton Synchroton energies, usingHIJINGMONTECARLOMODEL\,\,\, HIJING\,\,\, MONTE \,\,\,CARLO \,\,\,MODEL \\ (version HIJ.01HIJ.01). Numerical results for mean multiplicities of neutral strange particles ,as well as their ratios to negatives hadrons() for p-p,nucleon-nucleon(N-N),\,\,p-S,\,\,p-Ag,\,\,p-Au('min. bias')collisions and p-Au,\,\,S-S,\,\,S-Ag,\,\,S-Au ('central')collisions are compared to experimental data available from CERN experiments and also with recent theoretical estimations given by others models. Neutral strange particle abundances are quite well described for p-p,N-N and p-A interactions ,but are underpredicted by a factor of two in A-A interactions for Λ,Λˉ,KS0\Lambda,\bar{\Lambda}, K^{0}_{S} in symmetric collisions(S-S,\,\,Pb-Pb)and for Λ,Λˉ\Lambda,\bar{\Lambda}\,\,in asymmetric ones(S-Ag,\,\,S-Au,\,\,S-W). A qualitative prediction for rapidity, transverse kinetic energy and transverse momenta normalized distributions are performed at 200 GeV/Nucleon in p-S,S-S,S-Ag and S-Au collisions in comparison with recent experimental data. HIJING model predictions for coming experiments at CERN for S-Au, S-W and Pb-Pb interactions are given. The theoretical calculations are estimated in a full phase space.Comment: 33 pages(LATEX),18 figures not included, available in hard copy upon request , Dipartamento di Fisica Padova, report DFPD-94-NP-4

Predictions for p+Pb at 4.4A TeV to Test Initial State Nuclear Shadowing at energies available at the CERN Large Hadron Collider

Collinear factorized perturbative QCD model predictions are compared for p+Pb at 4.4A TeV to test nuclear shadowing of parton distribution at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The nuclear modification factor (NMF), R_{pPb}(y=0,p_T<20 GeV/c) = dn_{p Pb} /(N_{coll}(b)dn_{pp}), is computed with electron-nucleus (e+A) global fit with different nuclear shadow distributions and compared to fixed Q^2 shadow ansatz used in Monte Carlo Heavy Ion Jet Interacting Generator (HIJING) type models. Due to rapid DGLAP reduction of shadowing with increasing Q^2 used in e+A global fit, our results confirm that no significant initial state suppression is expected (R_{pPb} (p_T) = 1 \pm 0.1) in the p_T range 5 to 20 GeV/ c. In contrast, the fixed Q^2 shadowing models assumed in HIJING type models predict in the above p_T range a sizable suppression, R_{pPb} (p_T) = 0.6-0.7 at mid-pseudorapidity that is similar to the color glass condensate (CGC) model predictions. For central (N_{coll} = 12) p+ Pb collisions and at forward pseudorapidity (\eta = 6) the HIJING type models predict smaller values of nuclear modification factors (R_{pPb}(p_T)) than in minimum bias events at mid-pseudorapidity (\eta = 0). Observation of R_{pPb}(p_T= 5-20 GeV/c) less than 0.6 for minimum bias p+A collisions would pose a serious difficulty for separating initial from final state interactions in Pb+Pb collisions at LHC energies.Comment: Revised version accepted for publication; Phys. Strong Color Field Baryonic Remnants in Nucleus-Nucleus Collisions at 200A GeV

The effects of strong color electric fields (SCF) on the baryon production at RHIC are studied in the framework of HIJING/B\=B (v2.0) model. The particle species dependence of nuclear modification factors (NMF) are analyzed for Au+Au collisions at 200A GeV. A doubling of the string tension leading to a modification of the strangeness suppression according to Schwinger mechanism is shown to provide an alternate explanation to coalescence models for the interpretation of the observed baryon and meson production at moderate pTp_T and results in a predicted enhancement in the (multi)strange (anti)hyperon production.Comment: 6 pages, Latex(Revtex), 4 figures;Added new references, one figure, text slightly modified. final version accepted for publication in Pnys. It is demonstrated that universal mass dependence for meson and baryon inclusive cross-sections advocated recently in e+ee^+e^- annihilation and in hadronic reactions is consistent also with heavy ion collisions data and can therefore be used as a reference for quark-gluon plasma studies.Comment: LaTex file, 8 pages, hard copies of 3 (multiple) figures available on request to [email protected] or [email protected]. Do Search for Dibaryonic De - Excitations in Relativistic Nuclear Reactions

Some odd characteristics are observed in the single particle distributions obtained from He+Li He + Li interactions at 4.5AGeV/c 4.5 AGeV/c momenta which are explained as the manifestation of a new mechanism of strangeness production via dibaryonic de-excitations. A signature of the formation of hadronic and baryonic clusters is also reported. The di-pionic signals of the dibaryonic orbital de-excitations are analyzed in the frame of the MIT - bag Model and a Monte Carlo simulation. The role played by the dibaryonic resonances in relativistic nuclear collisions could be a significant one. Pneumomediastinum may develop in up to 10% patients who have sustained blunt cervical or thoracic trauma and may be a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in affected individuals because of the associated damage to the oesophagus, larynx or trachea. Management of this condition varies from conservative approach with close observation and antibiotherapy to surgical intervention, depending on the extent and severity of aerodigestive injuries. Conclusions: A blunt neck trauma accompanied by subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum secondary to an accident, its radiologic appearance, clinical presentation, and the options for initial management in the emergency department need a special attention

Baryon Junction Loops in HIJING/B\=Bv2.0 and the Baryon/Meson Anomaly at RHIC

A new version, v2.0, of the HIJING/B\=B Monte Carlo nuclear collision event generator is introduced in order to explore further the possible role of baryon junctions loops in the baryon/meson anomaly (2 <pT<< p_{T} < 5 GeV/c) observed in 200A GeV Au+Au reactions at RHIC. We show that junction loops with an enhanced intrinsic kT1k_T\approx 1 GeV/c transverse momentum kick may provide a partial explanation of the anomaly as well as other important baryon stopping observables.Comment: 27 pages, Latex(revtex), 8 figure

With the development of science, researches in medicine have resulted in rapid and quite good treatment of acute diseases. In this way, in a short period of time a strong pharmaceutical industry, which proposes large amounts of synthetic drugs, has been developed. As a result, the share of natural remedies has considerably decreased, and the specialists of this field were essentially distressed. Today we observe that modern medicine rediscovers hirudotherapy. The leeches possess a mechanism that locks the system of hemostasis of the donor, represented by biologically active substances, secreted by the salivary glands. Due to these substances, hirudotherapy has many therapeutic effects. As mentioned before, hirudotherapy acts on the human body through general, local and bioenergetical effects. Conclusions: First of all, zonality of curative effect is determined by regional adjusting of blood and lymphatic circulation. Therefore, the local action is the most important manifestation of hirudotherapy. The general action is based on the application of leeches in certain reflexogenic areas, arranged to the skin, and in regions of anastomoses between the deep and superficial venous system. In this context, the role of clinical anatomy is essential in determination of the points and areas where leeches are applied
