IoT (Internet of things) is a developing technique that is more useful to control or monitor the appliances via internet. Existing appliances can be connected to WIFI network and to internet with the help of ESP8266 microcontroller.   A web socket is implemented in ESP8266 and it can be accessed through mobile Android application. Home appliances connected in smart switch box, people can control appliances anytime anywhere. This paper gives overview of Internet Controlled Switch Box

AIM OF THE STUDY: The aim of the present study was to compare the dentinal defects caused during root canal preparation with hand file and two different Ni-Ti rotary file systems. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study samples comprised of sixty extracted intact, non carious human mandibular premolars which were randomly divided into 4 Groups. Each Group consists of 15 specimens. Teeth of the experimental Groups were decoronated and standardized to the root length of 12mm. Group 1: Control Group with unprepared root canal. Group 2: Root canal preparation done by hand K files [Step back method]. Group 3: Root canal preparation done by rotary Mtwo files [Crown down method]. Group 4: Root canal preparation done by rotary K3XF files [Crown down method]. During root canal preparation of all specimens of the experimental Groups, 5% sodium hypochlorite was used as an irrigating solution and 17% EDTA gel was used as a lubricant and final rinsing done with normal saline then with distilled water . All specimens were stored in the distilled water until further sectioning procedures. Horizontal sectioning was done with the hard tissue microtome under water cooling at 3mm and 6mm levels from the root apex Each section was evaluated for dentinal defects under the Stereomicroscope of 45X magnification. RESULTS: Group 1 had lesser number of dentinal defects followed by Group 2, 3 and 4. Group 3 and Group 4 had more number of Fracture type of dentinal defects . CONCLUSION: Hand K files induced minimal dentinal defects when compared to rotary files. Among the rotary files Mtwo files induced minimal dentinal defects when compared to K3XF files

Fabrication of Nd3+ and Yb3+ doped NIR emitting nano fluorescent probe: A candidate for bioimaging applications

The intentional design of rare earth doped luminescent architecture exhibits unique optical properties and it can be considered as a promising and potential probe for optical imaging applications. Calcium fluoride (CaF2) nanoparticles doped with optimum concentration of Nd3+ and Yb3+ as sensitizer and activator, respectively, were synthesized by wet precipitation method and characterized by x-ray diffraction (XRD) and photoluminescence. In spite of the fact that the energy transfer takes place from Nd3+ to Yb3+, the luminescence intensity was found to be weak due to the lattice defects generated from the doping of trivalent cations (Nd3+ and Yb3+) for divalent host cations (Ca2+). These defect centres were tailored via charge compensation approach by co-doping Na+ ion and by optimizing its concentration and heat treatment duration. CaF2 doped with 5 mol% Nd3+, 3 mol% Yb3+ and 4 mol% Na+ after heat treatment for 2 h exhibited significantly enhanced emission intensity and life time. The ex vivo fluorescence imaging experiment was done at various thickness of chicken breast tissue. The maximum theoretical depth penetration of the NIR light was calculated and the value is 14 mm. The fabricated phosphor can serve as contrast agent for deep tissue near infrared (NIR) light imaging

The influence of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and paracetamol used for pain control of orthodontic tooth movement: a systematic review

ABSTRACT The present study aimed to perform a systematic literature review to determine if there is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that interferes less within tooth movement. This research was performed according to the PRISMA statement. Articles were searched in eight electronic databases (PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, LILACS, SciELO, Google Scholar, and Open Grey). Only experimental studies on male Wistar rats were selected, which included experiments related to the influence of NSAIDs on orthodontic movement. Studies in animals with pathological conditions, literature review articles, letters to the editor and/or editorials, case reports, abstracts, books, and book chapters were excluded. Each of the steps of this systematic literature review was performed by two examiners independently. Results: the total sample consisted of 505 articles, from which 6 studies were eligible after a qualitative analysis. From the drugs assessed, paracetamol was unanimous for not interfering within orthodontic movement when compared to the control group. However, drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, sodium diclofenac, and selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors caused a reduction in tooth movement when compared to the control group. Conclusion: paracetamol could be considered the drug of choice for pain relief because it interferes less within tooth movement

Swaging Process for Productivity improvement in the manufacture of Spindles

681-684Improvement in productivity will be achieved through utilization of resources in a better way. Economy and efficiency are two routes to achieve improvements in productivity. In this journal paper, designing the Spindle Blade and Aluminium Plug in the spindle assembly used in Textile Frames have been deliberated by analyzing the trials conducted on different processes and machine tools for reducing cost and improving productivity. Conventionally, a copying lathe is utilized for the manufacture of the spindle blades and the aluminium plugs. In this journal paper, the design analysis and optimization of spindles have been attempted through a swaging process. In addition to increasing the productivity, swaging process also saves considerable amount of material and labour with increase in tensile strength of Spindles

Microwave assisted combustion synthesis and characterization of nickel ferrite nanoplatelets

Nickel ferrite nanoplatelets have been successfully synthesized by a simple microwave assisted combustion method using trisodium citrate as a fuel. The prepared sample was chemically and structurally characterized by different techniques and the magnetic behaviour was studied by field dependent magnetization measurement. The obtained results indicate that the prepared sample is phase pure nickel ferrite nanoplatelets having size in the range of 40–50 nm and it exhibits a soft ferromagnetic nature with saturation magnetization of 49 emu/g and coercivity of 167 G. Hence proposed method is a facile approach to obtain nickel ferrite nanoplatelets for broad spectrum of applications

Mangrove ecosystem is diverse habitat for number of medicinally important microorganisms including fungi. Scientific research from last three decade emphasises it potential in important secondary metabolites production, which have wide biological activities. The current study elaborates isolation of fungi from pneumatophore of mangrove plant Avicennia marina and investigation of ethyl acetate extract for antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity. Ethyl acetate extract of the fungus displayed maximum anti-inflammatory activity with 76.39% inhibition for by protein denaturation method and 22.52% inhibition for membrane stabilisation method with respect to standard ibuprofen. Further, the anticancer activity of Aspergillus stellatus LM-03 exhibited against MCF-7 of breast cancer cell with an IC50 value of 33.24 µg/ml. HPLC and UPLC-ESI-QTOF analysis displayed nine compound mainly alternariol monomethyl ether and methyl jasmonate, which are highly anticancer activity and moderate anti-inflammatory activity with other compounds as angelic anhydride, DL-3-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)lactic acid, 8,9-epoxyl-3-isobutyryloxy-10-(2-methylbutanoyl)thymol, 5-(6-methyl-7-oxooctyl) furan-2(5H)-one and phenyl-butyryl-glutamine with an unidentified compounds. The results of the current study indicate that it may be worthwhile to investigate Aspergillus stellatus LM-03 extract for promising bioactive metabolites with potential for medicinal use.</p
