Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely available, openly allowed text, media, and other digital resources that are useful for instruction. The Open Educational Resources (OER) formats are used for this study with the help of the internet. The investigator as a facilitator for this study. The learning is through open educational resources in three months. The quarterly marks were used for pretest and half-yearly marks were used for the post-test score. The experimental method and single group design were employed in the study. 40 students were taken for this study. The simple random sampling has used the study. The findings were there is no significant difference between the groups. The academic performance is may increase through Open Educational Resource (OER) format learning.

Working as Assistatnt Professor in SCAD College of Education, IndiaOnline learning is an educational process which takes place over the Internet as a form of distance education. Distance education became ubiquitous as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Because of these circumstances, online learning and teaching had an indispensable role in teacher education programs, even though debates continue on whether or not it is beneficial for prospective teachers to be exposed extensively to Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This descriptive study demonstrates how a student teacher course in teacher education was redesigned to provide student teachers with opportunities to learn and practice through online. It reports experiences and reflections from a practicum course offered in the teacher education courses in the Tirunelveli. It describes three phases of the online student teachers’ experiences Preparation, Implementation, and Reflection. Tasks accomplished in each phase are reported. Online teaching experiences provided these student teachers with opportunities to interact with others, as well as to encourage reflection on how best to promote prospective teachers development and learning with online communication tools

Social Media as an Open Educational Practice Tools and Challenges

    Get PDF
More than traditional learning methodology, the present generation focuses on smart learning technology. We can use social media for many purposes but, communication and learning should be the primary purpose. Many open educational resources are already available in social media in different formats like audio, visual, Text, etc. This research aims to characterize the researcher’s essential quality; how the use of open educational resources and the challenges faced through social/digital media have influenced their future research. The 350 research scholars from the state universities of Tamil Nadu have participated in this study, and they have been practice OER. The respondents said that they had a solution to their problems in everyday life on social media. Researchers have been promoting that social networking sites are better than causal websites for collecting resources. Researchers have pointed out that the quality of audio and video of open educational resources on the social network is better than websites. Practising OER has little impact on my learning outcome. For this research, a quantitative survey method used, and SPSS software used for analysis. The results have been calculated and analyzed by frequency, percentage, and descriptive analysis tabulation. Experimental studies will be upcoming studies by establishing open educational practices in social media platforms

Enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness of solar stills through natural fiber integration

Various enhancements to solar stills aim to increase their output of fresh water. This research experimentally compared the efficiency of two solar stills (SS) in terms of producing fresh water. The conventional solar still (CSS) was compared to the Coconut leaf sheath single slope solar still. Natural fibres were used to fill the basin, increasing the surface area in contact with the sun and, by extension, the rate of evaporation. Utilize its capillary effect while simultaneously putting it to use as a heat sink (thermal storage material). We calculated the exergy and thermal energy efficiency of both systems and the associated costs. Daily accumulative freshwater productivity was found to be 5170.8 gm/m2 when employing natural fibre, a 45.8 % improvement over the usual method. Solar stills made from natural fibres were discovered to have daily thermal energy efficiencies of 46.8 % and exergy efficiencies of 5 %, while CSS systems achieved 33.8 and 3.2 %, respectively. When compared to a standard solar still, which costs ₹9.68 every litre of water produced, a solar still made with natural fibre reduces that cost to just ₹6.64 per litre

The stripenose guitarfish Acroteriobatus variegatus (Nair and Lal Mohan, 1973) has been listed as a Critically Endangered (CR) in the IUCN redlist for elasmobranchs. It belongs to the family Rhinobatidae (Rhinopristiformes) and among the 10 species of Acroteriobatus found in the western Indian Ocean, is the only endemic guitarfish with a very restricted distribution range, being known only from southern India and Sri Lanka

ISG15 mediates the function of extracellular vesicles in promoting ovarian cancer progression and metastasis

    No full text
Abstract The interferon stimulated gene 15 (ISG15), a ubiquitin like protein and its conjugates have been implicated in various human malignancies. However, its role in ovarian cancer progression and metastasis is largely unknown. In high grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC), ascites is the major contributor to peritoneal metastasis. In this study, we identified significantly elevated ISG15 protein expression in HGSOC patient ascites, ascites derived primary ovarian cancer cells (POCCs), POCC small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) as well as metastatic tissue. Our results demonstrates that ISG15 increases exocytosis in ascites‐derived POCCs by decreasing the endosome‐lysosomal fusion, indicating a key role in sEV secretion. Further, knockdown (KD) of ISG15 resulted in a significant decrease in vesicles secretion from HGSOC cells and in vivo mouse models, leading to reduced HGSOC cell migration and invasion. Furthermore, our pre‐clinical mouse model studies revealed the influence of vesicular ISG15 on disease progression and metastasis. In addition, knockdown of ISG15 or using the ISG15 inhibitor, DAP5, in combination therapy with carboplatin showed to improve the platinum sensitivity in‐vitro and reduce tumour burden in‐vivo. We also found that ISG15 expression within sEV represents a promising prognostic marker for HGSOC patients. Our findings suggest that ISG15 is a potential therapeutic target for inhibiting progression and metastasis in HGSOC and that vesicular ISG15 expression could be a promising biomarker in the clinical management of ovarian cancer. Significance: High‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) has high morbidity and mortality rates, but its progression and metastasis are still poorly understood, and there is an urgent need for early detection and targeted therapies. Our study presents novel findings that implicate ISG15‐mediated vesicular proteins in the advancement and spread of HGSOC. These results offer pre‐clinical evidence of potential new molecular targets, prognostic markers and therapeutic strategies for HGSOC that could ultimately enhance patient survival
