    The Manuel Sandstone Formation or K2 from Ortí (1974) is a clastic intercalation in the middle of the Keuper facies of SE Spain. This formation corresponds to a low-stand systems tract (LST) and it can be subdivided into three minor cycles that can be traced all over the area here studied. Its age is late Cordevolian-early Julian (lower-middle Karnian) according to the palynomorphs that are found in several localities. A stratigraphical correlation of the formation from Alhambra (Ciudad Real) and Chiclana de Segura (Jaén) to Jaraco (Valencia) is shown, and the mutual influences of climate, tectonics and eustatism that controlled the lateral change from a classic Keuper facies from the E to a purely siliciclastic one to the Ware discussed

    The spectral fluctuation properties of spherical nuclei are considered by use of NNSD statistic. With employing a generalized Brody distribution included Poisson, GOE and GUE limits and also MLE technique, the chaoticity parameters are estimated for sequences prepared by all the available empirical data. The ML-based estimated values and also KLD measures propose a non regular dynamic. Also, spherical odd-mass nuclei in the mass region, exhibit a slight deviation to the GUE spectral statistics rather than the GOE.Comment: 10 pages, 2 figure

    Decision-making (in)flexibility in gambling disorder

    Background: Behavioral flexibility –the ability to dynamically readjust our behavior in response to reward contingency changes– is often investigated using probabilistic reversal learning tasks (PRLT). Poor PRLT performance has been proposed as a proxy for compulsivity, and theorized to be related to perseverative gambling. Previous attempts to measure inflexibility with the PRLT in patients with gambling disorder have, however, used a variety of indices that may conflate inflexibility with more general aspects of performance in the task. Methods: Trial-by-trial PRLT acquisition and reacquisition curves in 84 treatment-seeking patients with gambling disorder and 64 controls (non-gamblers and non-problem recreational gamblers) were analyzed to distinguish between (a) variability in acquisition learning, and (b) reacquisition learning in reversed contingency phases. Complementarily, stay/switch responses throughout the task were analyzed to identify (c) premature switching, and (d) sensitivity to accumulated negative feedback. Results and interpretation: Even after controlling for differences in acquisition learning, patients were slower to readjust their behavior in reversed contingency phases, and were more prone to maintain their decisions despite accumulated negative feedback.     Montecarlo simulation of the role of defects as the melting mechanism

    We study in this paper the melting transition of a crystal of fcc structure with the Lennard-Jones potential, by using isobaric-isothermal Monte Carlo simulations. Local and collective updates are sequentially used to optimize the convergence.     A conjecture on Exceptional Orthogonal Polynomials

    Exceptional orthogonal polynomial systems (X-OPS) arise as eigenfunctions of Sturm-Liouville problems and generalize in this sense the classical families of Hermite, Laguerre and Jacobi. They also generalize the family of CPRS orthogonal polynomials. We formulate the following conjecture: every exceptional orthogonal polynomial system is related to a classical system by a Darboux-Crum transformation. We give a proof of this conjecture for codimension 2 exceptional orthogonal polynomials (X2-OPs). As a by-product of this analysis, we prove a Bochner-type theorem classifying all possible X2-OPS. The classification includes all cases known to date plus some new examples of X2-Laguerre and X2-Jacobi polynomials

    Decoupling of defect and short-range order contributions to resistivity recovery measurements in binary alloys

    © 2014 American Physical Society. We report a new and improved approach that uses low-temperature resistivity recovery measurements to study the defect kinetics in metallic binary alloys. This method is able to decouple the effect related to the irradiation defect contribution to the resistivity from that of the short-range order, which is enhanced by the free migration of defects. This approach can provide reliable experimental data which are more suitable for comparisons with current computational models. Furthermore, the difference in this method with respect to the classical one is that our method gives information concerning the role of vacancies and interstitials on short-range order. The method is applied to a model alloy Fe-5%Cr, of interest for fusion applications, where short-range order effects have been previously found to play a role.Peer Reviewe

    Dada la gran importancia de los contenidos para el éxito del proceso de formación es necesario desarrollar herramientas que permitan la creación de los mismos de una manera simple, eficaz y motivadora. Actualmente, su proceso de creación es largo y costoso, teniendo que llevarlo a cabo expertos cirujanos docentes en estrecha colaboración con técnicos especialistas en herramientas de edición y creación de contenidos multimedia. El presente trabajo de investigación presenta una nueva herramienta de autoría que permite la creación y edición de contenidos didácticos multimedia que son utilizados en el proceso de formación de los cirujanos. La herramienta incorpora un editor multimedia de vídeos laparoscópicos, capaz de realizar un procesamiento y agregar valor didáctico a los vídeos originales. La herramienta de autoría se incorpora en un entorno de formación web que permite crear, compartir y reutilizar contenidos didácticos basados en la edición de vídeo laparoscópico

    Piecewise mABC fractional derivative with an application

    In this study, we give the notion of a piecewise modified Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo (mABC) fractional derivative and apply it to a tuberculosis model. This novel operator is a combination of classical derivative and the recently developed modified Atangana-Baleanu operator in the Caputo's sense. For this combination, we have considered the splitting of an interval [0,t2] [0, t_2] for t2R+ t_2\in\mathbb{R}^+ , such that, the classical derivative is applied in the first portion [0,t1] [0, t_1] while the second differential operator is applied in the interval [t1,t2] [t_1, t_2] . As a result, we obtained the piecewise mABC operator. Its corresponding integral is also given accordingly. This new operator is then applied to a tuberculosis model for the study of crossover behavior. The existence and stability of solutions are investigated for the nonlinear piecewise modified ABC tuberculosis model. A numerical scheme for the simulations is presented with the help of Lagrange's interpolation polynomial is then applied to the available data
