It becomes evident that an exclusive focus on content or competences remains largely inefficient when excluding the context of an action, and then offers an e-learning based action-oriented approach to learning languages and scientific culture using the combination of four forms of learning: individual learning, collaborative learning, research-based learning and product-oriented learning. To illustrate this approach, two examples of teaching German as a foreign language in Chile are presented. For both examples, the framework and concepts of language teaching are explained, as well as the hands-on experiences with the learning platform Deutsch-Uni Online in the years 2014 to 2015. The technologically completely revised platform served as a basis for the development of blended learning language courses, a mixture of learning in the classroom and online learning
// ABSTRACT: The development of skills in the use of foreign languages has become a
requirement of the globalized world. In this sense, Higher Education Institutions
play a very relevant role for the creation of skills in their students, according to the
graduation profile of each career. This challenge entails organizational changes in
academic management, as well as the redesign of business models leading to the
development of language training in university environments. Taking into account
the aspects indicated, this paper is oriented in the field of educational
organizational innovation, addressing the design of a proposal for the creation of a
foreign language examination center at the University of Talca, Chile. The study
focused on the search for the best alternative so that the Institution's
undergraduate students, as well as professionals external to the organization, have
the feasibility of internationally certifying their knowledge of foreign languages. With
this objective, the examining institutions and the tests offered were analyzed, as
well as the requirements that they establish for the opening of new examination
centers. Likewise, the institutional capacities available to take on this challenge
were established. Complementarily, the examination alternatives were evaluated,
based on a set of defined criteria and finally, a business model for the Center was
designed as a way of promoting professional internationalization, through
specialized preparation for international foreign language exams, facilitating
effective learning for students. The results show the institutional potential for the
creation of an examination center, according to the demands of the counterparts and the use of their own internal capacities
