The Implementation of the Renormalized Complex MSSM in FeynArts and FormCalc
We describe the implementation of the renormalized complex MSSM (cMSSM) in
the diagram generator FeynArts and the calculational tool FormCalc. This
extension allows to perform UV-finite one-loop calculations of cMSSM processes
almost fully automatically. The Feynman rules for the cMSSM with counterterms
are available as a new model file for FeynArts. Also included are default
definitions of the renormalization constants; this fixes the renormalization
scheme. Beyond that all model parameters are generic, e.g. we do not impose any
relations to restrict the number of input parameters. The model file has been
tested extensively for several non-trivial decays and scattering reactions. Our
renormalization scheme has been shown to give stable results over large parts
of the cMSSM parameter space.Comment: 29 pages, extended chargino/neutralino and sfermion renormalization

Heavy Scalar Top Quark Decays in the Complex MSSM: A Full One-Loop Analysis
We evaluate all two-body decay modes of the heavy scalar top quark in the
Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model with complex parameters (cMSSM) and no
generation mixing. The evaluation is based on a full one-loop calculation of
all decay channels, also including hard QED and QCD radiation. The
renormalization of the complex parameters is described in detail. The
dependence of the heavy scalar top quark decay on the relevant cMSSM parameters
is analyzed numerically, including also the decay to Higgs bosons and another
scalar quark or to a top quark and the lightest neutralino. We find sizable
contributions to many partial decay widths and branching ratios. They are
roughly of O(10%) of the tree-level results, but can go up to 30% or higher.
These contributions are important for the correct interpretation of scalar top
quark decays at the LHC and, if kinematically allowed, at the ILC. The
evaluation of the branching ratios of the heavy scalar top quark will be
implemented into the Fortran code FeynHiggs.Comment: 86 pages, 38 figures; minor changes, version published as Phys. Rev.

Two-loop SUSY QCD corrections to the chargino masses in the MSSM
We have calculated the two-loop strong interaction corrections to the
chargino pole masses in the DRbar'-scheme in the Minimal Supersymmetric
Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters. We have performed a detailed
numerical analysis for a particular point in the parameter space and found
corrections of a few tenths of a percent. We provide a computer program which
calculates chargino and neutralino masses with complex parameters including the
one-loop corrections and all two-loop SQCD effects.Comment: 12 pages, 11 figures, references modified, clarifications adde
Element-Specific Depth Profile of Magnetism and Stoichiometry at the La0.67Sr0.33MnO3/BiFeO3 Interface
Depth-sensitive magnetic, structural and chemical characterization is
important in the understanding and optimization of novel physical phenomena
emerging at interfaces of transition metal oxide heterostructures. In a
simultaneous approach we have used polarized neutron and resonant X-ray
reflectometry to determine the magnetic profile across atomically sharp
interfaces of ferromagnetic La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 / multiferroic BiFeO3 bi-layers
with sub-nanometer resolution. In particular, the X-ray resonant magnetic
reflectivity measurements at the Fe and Mn resonance edges allowed us to
determine the element specific depth profile of the ferromagnetic moments in
both the La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 and BiFeO3 layers. Our measurements indicate a
magnetically diluted interface layer within the La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 layer, in
contrast to previous observations on inversely deposited layers. Additional
resonant X-ray reflection measurements indicate a region of an altered Mn- and
O-content at the interface, with a thickness matching that of the magnetic
diluted layer, as origin of the reduction of the magnetic moment.Comment: 13 pages, 4 figures, supplemental material include

A quantitative approach to behavioural analysis of drivers in highways using particle filtering
The analysis of the driving behaviour is a challenging area in transport that has applications in numerous fields ranging from highway design to micro-simulation and development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). There has been evidence suggesting changes in the driving behaviour in response to changes in traffic conditions, and this is known as adaptive driving behaviour. Identifying these changes, the conditions under which they happen, and describing them in a systematic way would contribute greatly to the accuracy of micro-simulation and more importantly to the understanding of the traffic flow, and will therefore pave the way for introducing further improvements in the efficiency of the transport network. In this paper adaptive driving behaviour is linked to changes in the model parameters for a given car-following model. These changes are tracked using a dynamic system identification method, namely unscented particle filtering
Measuring Charge Transport in an Amorphous Semiconductor Using Charge Sensing
We measure charge transport in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) using
a nanometer scale silicon MOSFET as a charge sensor. This charge detection
technique makes possible the measurement of extremely large resistances. At
high temperatures, where the a-Si:H resistance is not too large, the charge
detection measurement agrees with a direct measurement of current. The device
geometry allows us to probe both the field effect and dispersive transport in
the a-Si:H using charge sensing and to extract the density of states near the
Fermi energy.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Relativistic quantum dynamics in strong fields: Photon emission from heavy, few-electron ions
Recent progress in the study of the photon emission from highly-charged heavy
ions is reviewed. These investigations show that high- ions provide a unique
tool for improving the understanding of the electron-electron and
electron-photon interaction in the presence of strong fields. Apart from the
bound-state transitions, which are accurately described in the framework of
Quantum Electrodynamics, much information has been obtained also from the
radiative capture of (quasi-) free electrons by high- ions. Many features in
the observed spectra hereby confirm the inherently relativistic behavior of
even the simplest compound quantum systems in Nature.Comment: Version 18/11/0
