Parameter dependence of resonant spin torque magnetization reversal
We numerically study ultra fast resonant spin torque (ST) magnetization
reversal in magnetic tunnelling junctions (MTJ) driven by current pulses having
a direct current (DC) and a resonant alternating current (AC) component. The
precessional ST dynamics of the single domain MTJ free layer cell are modelled
in the macro spin approximation. The energy efficiency, reversal time, and
reversal reliability are investigated under variation of pulse parameters like
direct and AC current amplitude, AC frequency and AC phase. We find a range of
AC and direct current amplitudes where robust resonant ST reversal is obtained
with faster switching time and reduced energy consumption per pulse compared to
purely direct current ST reversal. However for a certain range of AC and direct
current amplitudes a strong dependence of the reversal properties on AC
frequency and phase is found. Such regions of unreliable reversal must be
avoided for ST memory applications.Comment: 17 pages, 4 figure
Neutron/proton ratio of nucleon emissions as a probe of neutron skin
The dependence between neutron-to-proton yield ratio () and neutron
skin thickness () in neutron-rich projectile induced reactions is
investigated within the framework of the Isospin-Dependent Quantum Molecular
Dynamics (IQMD) model. The density distribution of the Droplet model is
embedded in the initialization of the neutron and proton densities in the
present IQMD model. By adjusting the diffuseness parameter of neutron density
in the Droplet model for the projectile, the relationship between the neutron
skin thickness and the corresponding in the collisions is obtained.
The results show strong linear correlation between and
for neutron-rich Ca and Ni isotopes. It is suggested that may be used
as an experimental observable to extract for neutron-rich nuclei,
which is very significant to the study of the nuclear structure of exotic
nuclei and the equation of state (EOS) of asymmetric nuclear matter.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures; accepted by Phys. Lett.
Relativistic Heavy--Ion Collisions in the Dynamical String--Parton Model
We develop and extend the dynamical string parton model. This model, which is
based on the salient features of QCD, uses classical Nambu-Got\=o strings with
the endpoints identified as partons, an invariant string breaking model of the
hadronization process, and interactions described as quark-quark interactions.
In this work, the original model is extended to include a phenomenological
quantization of the mass of the strings, an analytical technique for treating
the incident nucleons as a distribution of string configurations determined by
the experimentally measured structure function, the inclusion of the gluonic
content of the nucleon through the introduction of purely gluonic strings, and
the use of a hard parton-parton interaction taken from perturbative QCD
combined with a phenomenological soft interaction. The limited number of
parameters in the model are adjusted to and -- data. Utilizing
these parameters, the first calculations of the model for -- and
-- collisions are presented and found to be in reasonable agreement with
a broad set of data.Comment: 26 pages of text with 23 Postscript figures placed in tex

Recently isolated coryneform hydrogen bacteria were investigated under taxonomical aspects. Strains 7 C, RH 10, and 14 g are characterized by the snapping type of cell division, 68.5 to 69.7% GC content, dl-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall, content of metachromatic granules, weak utilization of sugars and inhibitory effect of citrate. The strains are placed to the group 1-genus Corynebacterium-of the classification of coryneform bacteria of Yamada and Komagata (1972) and the name Corynebacterium autotrophicum sp.nov. is proposed. Strains 11 X and RH 12 are characterized by the bending type of cell division, a GC content of 70.2 and 70.5%, ll-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall, absence of metachromatic granules, utilization of several sugars and no changes in cell morphology by citrate. The strains have to be placed to group 6 of coryneform bacteria
