Relevant but neglected habitat types by the Directive 92/43 EEC in southern Italy

The 92/43/EEC Habitats Directive is the main European Union legal tool concerning nature conservation. The habitat types listed in Annex I to the Directive are phytosociology-based. It is widely acknowledged that phytosociological analysis is a crucial approach for habitats characterization and for monitoring their conservation status. Based on bibliographic investigations and new field survey campaigns, a list of habitat types neglected by the Habitats Directive is here presented and described for southern Italy. In this paper, 8 new habitat types and 13 subtypes are proposed. For each of these proposed new habitat types, a wide range of information, including ecology, chorology, species composition, syntaxonomy, threats, and conservation status, is here provided. To supply more detailed phytogeographical and coenological information about the proposed new habitat types, distribution maps based on 10 x 10 km reference grids and phytosociological tables including unpublished releves were carried out

New national and regional Annex I Habitat records: from #45 to #59

New Italian data on the distribution of Annex I Habitats are reported in this contribution. Specifically, 8 new occurrences in Natura 2000 sites are presented and 27 new cells are added in the EEA 10 km × 10 km reference grid. The new data refer to the Italian administrative regions of Apulia, Campania, Calabria, Lazio, Tuscany, Umbria, Sardinia, and Sicily

Prodotto nell’ambito del progetto LIFE15 GIE/IT/001039 “Alien Species Awareness Program”(ASAP), è un opuscolo di tipo tecnico-pratico che intende fornire alcune informazioni di base sulle piante esotiche invasive presenti in Italia nonché, seguendo le buone pratiche dettate nel Codice di condotta definito nell’ambito della Convenzione di Berna, proporre un numero non esaustivo di specie native da utilizzare in alternativa alle piante esotiche invasive inserite nella Lista di Rilevanza Unionale e per le quali vi è divieto di importazione, commercio, possesso, riproduzione, trasporto, utilizzo e rilascio in natura. E’ indirizzato a tutti coloro che sono coinvolti direttamente o indirettamente nella produzione, commercializzazione e impiego delle piante ornamentali: aziende florovivaistiche importatori di piante e tutti coloro che svolgono un ruolo nella progettazione e realizzazione di aree verdi quali gli Architetti paesaggisti, i Dottori Forestali, i Dottori Agronomi e a tutti gli appassionati di giardinaggio. Questo articolo nasce dall'esigenza di informare un pi&amp;ugrave; ampio pubblico sul pericolo rappresentato da queste sostanze, far conoscere le NPS (Novel Psychoactive substances) agli operatori del settore (personale di laboratorio, personale delle unit&amp;agrave; di emergenza/ urgenza, operatori sanitari, ricercatori, ecc.) al fine di agevolare l'analisi di campioni sconosciuti e divulgare i dati scientifici che cominciano ad emergere da studi clinici e preclinici sui loro effetti tossici e farmacologici.&amp;nbsp;Dal 2009 sono comparsi nel gruppo delle N.P.S., i nuovi oppioidi sintetici, molecole estremamente potenti che comportano una seria minaccia per la salute pubblica. Si tratta di prodotti dalla notevole potenza (il fentanyl, per esempio, capostipite di questa famiglia, ha un'azione circa 100 volte maggiore rispetto a quella della morfina) che vengono utilizzati sia per s&amp;eacute; sia come adulteranti di partite di sostanze classiche, soprattutto eroina, causando scie di decessi per overdose.&amp;nbsp;</jats:p

The team, since the early stages of the project, has worked with the will to seize, in collaboration and multidisciplinary dialogue, an opportunity for cultural and scientific growth to achieve shared solutions. The regeneration of the area subject of this study has assumed four elementary actions as operational tools declined to the urban, architectural and technological scale: include, subtract, add and connect. In Tor Bella Monaca, the lack of sense of urbanity is the real cause of environmental discomfort. The size, the layout and the position of the large residential units deprive the inhabitants of a sense of belonging to the city that has been reformulated by reorganizing the greenery and by bringing the common equipment inside the large courtyards to reduce the size of the void. The goal was to achieve a balance between public and private different from the existing one. At the residential scale, it was necessary to return the different quality of domestic spaces. Reshaping the internal configuration, returning in the facade a new character to the building, allows buildings to show outside a new and more decent domestic quality, rewriting the relationship between private and public. The ground floor loses its residential character and progressively, from the bottom to the top, the character public disperses in favor of regained intimacy. The transformations are configured, moreover, as a wider system of connections, both material and immaterial, in which the art of composition and the building wisdom expressed by the technological solutions have found a congruent synthesis between economy, formal reconfiguration and new quality of daily life in the suburbs

Il gruppo, sin dalle prime fasi del progetto, ha lavorato con la volontà di cogliere, nella collaborazione e nel dialogo multidisciplinare e disciplinare, una opportunità di crescita culturale e scientifica per il raggiungimento di soluzioni condivise, operando in sinergia, mettendo a sistema le conoscenze, evitando la frammentazione e ottimizzando le diverse specificità nello sviluppo delle idee. La rigenerazione del comparto oggetto di questo studio ha assunto come enunciato quattro azioni elementari come strumenti operativi declinati alla scala urbana, a quella architettonica e a quella delle soluzioni tecnologiche per plasmare una nuova identità urbana: includere, sottrarre, aggiungere e connettere. A Tor Bella Monaca, un mancato senso di urbanità è la vera causa del disagio ambientale. La dimensione, l'impianto e la posizione delle grandi unità residenziali privano gli abitanti di un senso di appartenenza alla città che è stato riformulato riorganizzando il verde e portando le attrezzature comuni all'interno delle grandi corti per ridimensionare la misura del vuoto. L’obiettivo è stato quello di raggiungere un equilibrio tra pubblico e privato diverso da quello esistente. Alla scala residenziale, invece, è stato necessario restituire alla quotidianità degli abitanti una diversa qualità degli spazi domestici. Rimodellare la configurazione interna, restituendo in facciata un nuovo carattere all'edificio, permette agli edifici di mostrare all’esterno una nuova e più decorosa qualità domestica. Per riequilibrare il rapporto tra abitante e spazio, si è riscritto il rapporto tra privato e pubblico. Dietro i prospetti su Via dell’Archeologia vi sono cucine, soggiorni e stanza da letto: il piano terra perde il carattere residenziale e progressivamente, dal basso verso l’alto, il carattere pubblico si disperde a favore di una riconquistata intimità. Le misure dell’abitare alla scala urbana e quella domestica hanno trovano, dunque, un nuovo equilibrio grazie all’includere, al sottrarre, all’aggiungere e al connettere. Le trasformazioni si configurano, inoltre, come un sistema più ampio di connessioni, sia materiali che immateriali, in cui l’arte del comporre e la sapienza costruttiva espressi dalle soluzioni tecnologiche hanno trovato una sintesi congruente tra economia, riconfigurazione formale e nuova qualità del vivere quotidiano in periferia
