Syrian refugees in Lebanon: the search for universal health coverage.

    Get PDF
The crisis in Syria has forced more than 4 million people to find refuge outside Syria. In Lebanon, in 2015, the refugee population represented 30 % of the total population. International health assistance has been provided to refugee populations in Lebanon. However, the current humanitarian system has also contributed to increase fragmentation of the Lebanese health system. Ensuring universal health coverage to vulnerable Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian refugees will require in Lebanon to redistribute the key functions and responsibilities of the Ministry of Health and its partners to generate more coherence and efficiency

Mobile Reservation System for UUM INN

    Get PDF
Cell phones (mobile telephones) have today become part of our life style. One exciting thing about mobile devices is their ability to connect to the Internet and to execute web applications. Mobile applications can now be developed to deliver any types of data, to any user, any place in the world. Different mobile devices support different programming languages. Some support WAP and WML, some support HTML or a limited version of HTML, and some support both or a different language. To support all types of mobile devices, developers must create one different application for each languqge. WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is a protocol for accessing information and services from wireless devices such as Mobile Phones and PDAs. This research introduces a prototype" MOBILE RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR UUM INN" which is a WAP application that can be used by mobile phones. The proposed application will be used to enable student or their family or any one who want to stay in UUM INN. To use their hand phone Any where any time to make reservation with the hotel

Cavitation effects on the pressure distribution of a squeeze film damper bearing

    Get PDF
High speed motion pictures have revealed several operating regimes in a squeeze film damper. Pressure measurements corresponding to these distinct regimes were made to examine their effect on the performance of such dampers. Visual observation also revealed the means by which the pressure in the feed groove showed higher amplitudes than the theory predicts. Comparison between vapor and gaseous cavitation are made based on their characteristic pressure wave, and the effect this has on the total force and its phase

The objective of this paper is to design a new secure hash algorithm with final hash code length 512 bits. The proposed hash code algorithm based on the combination of SHA-256 algorithm -with modification in its message expansion- and MD5algorithm based on double-Davis-Mayer scheme to reduce the weakness existing in these functions. In this paper; we modified message expansion for SHA-256 in the proposed algorithm .By using MATLAB, The proposed algorithm has been simulated. And hash code for different messages is obtained using MD5, SHA-256, combination of MD5 and SHA-256 with final hash code length 265 bits algorithms and the proposed algorithm . Hash code of the proposed algorithm is different from hash code obtained by MD5, SHA-256 and combination of MD5 and SHA-256 with final hash code length 256 bits algorithms for the same messages. Avalanche test, with one bit difference and more than one bit difference, is applied toSHA-256, combination of MD5 and SHA-256 with final hash code length 256 bits and the proposed algorithm .The proposed algorithm passed avalanche test with higher probability than SHA-256   and combination of MD5 and SHA-256 with final hash code length 256 bit algorithms .The proposed algorithm is more complicated and more secure

Observations of How Magnetofluid Turbulence Dissipates at Small Scales

    Get PDF
The solar wind is a turbulent magneto fluid that can be studied intensively at multiple scales. Investigations using single spacecraft have revealed much about the properties of the solar wind throughout the heliosphere (from 0.3 AU to 100 AU). More recently, data from multiple spacecraft have provided further details of both the statistical properties of the turbulence and its small-scale structure. In particular, high time resolution magnetic field measurements from the four Cluster spacecrafl have led to the conclusion that at spatial scales of order the proton inertial length and smaller, the turbulence becomes strongly anisotropic and the power in fluctuations that are perpendicular to the (local) magnetic field is measured to be much larger than that in fluctuations that are parallel to the magnetic field. As the spatial scales approach the electron inertial length, the power is almost completely dissipated. Various analysis techniques and theoretical ideas have been put forward to account for the properties of those measurements. The talk will describe the current state of observations, theory and simulations

Nonequilibrium plasmons with gain in graphene

Graphene supports strongly confined transverse-magnetic sheet plasmons whose spectral characteristics depend on the energetic distribution of Dirac particles. The question arises whether plasmons can become amplified when graphene is pumped into a state of inversion. In establishing a theory for the dynamic non-equilibrium polarizability, we are able to determine the exact complex-frequency plasmon dispersion of photo-inverted graphene and study the impact of doping, collision loss, and temperature on the plasmon gain. We calculate the spontaneous emission spectra and carrier recombination rates self-consistently and compare the results with approximations based on Fermi's golden rule. Our results show that amplification of plasmons is possible under realistic conditions but inevitably competes with ultrafast spontaneous emission, which for intrinsic graphene, is a factor 5 faster than previously estimated. This work casts new light on the nature of non-equilibrium plasmons and may aid the experimental realization of active plasmonic devices based on graphene.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figures, published in PR
