Els Science & technical writing : una bibliografia orientadora

La recerca o investigació en temes científics implica un cert nombre d'activitats, una de les quals és la comunicació dels resultats obtinguts. Són molts els llibres que enfoquen el tema de la redacció científica i tècnica (science and technical writing), com es veu en la bibliografia orientadora que l'autor presenta. Es tracta d'obres pertanyents als anomenats llenguatges d'especialitat, breument però degudament comentades una per una. Com que, cada vegada més, el científic és alhora editor dels seus treballs de recerca, cal que disposi dels coneixements necessaris per a la redacció i presentació dels treballs especialitzats i, alhora, d'orientacions per a maniobrar amb els mitjans tècnics i programes d'edició.The research or investigation of scientific subjects involves a number of activities, one of which is the communication of the results. Medicaments: noms comercials o de marca

En aquest treball es presenta un ampli mostrari sobre els noms comercials o de marca dels medicaments, estudiant-ne l'origen i classificant-los en dos grans grups: noms descriptius i noms de fantasia o inventats. Els del primer grup van subclassificats atenent característiques vàries dels diversos fàrmacs (classe química, activitat, òrgan diana, espècie vegetal, composició química, companyia farmacèutica, indicador de benefici, etc.). Destaquen, pel gran nombre, els que fan referència a un nom genèric i aquells el nom dels quals té a veure amb el benefici que causa el medicament en qüestió en el pacientIn this paper we present a comprehensive sampling of the trade or brand names of drugs, studying their origin and classifying them into two groups: descriptive names and invented or fantasy names. The first group is subclassified according to the various characteristics of the drugs (such as chemical classification, activity, target organ, plant species, chemical composition, pharmaceutical company, profit indicator, etc.). Particularly notable for their sheer quantity are those that refer to a generic name and those whose name has to do with the benefit the drug in question is supposed to provide the patient
