    UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIDIABETES EKSTRAK N-HEKSANA DAUN PUCUK MERAH (Syzygium myrtifolium Walp.) TERHADAP MENCIT PUTIH DIABETES

    Telah dilakukan uji aktivitas antidiabetes ekstrak n-heksana daun pucuk merah (Syzygium myrtifolium Walp.). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antidiabetes ekstrak n-heksana daun pucuk merah dengan parameter utama persentase penurunan kadar glukosa darah. Parameter yang diukur meliputi persentase perubahan berat badan, volume urin, volume air minum, dan berat relatif organ. Penginduksi yang digunakan adalah aloksan tetrahidrat 175 mg/kg bb secara intraperitonial (ip). Kelompok kontrol positif menggunakan glibenklamid dengan dosis 0,065 mg/kg bb, kontrol negatif menggunakan Na CMC 1%, 3 kelompok dosis ekstrak n-heksana dengan dosis 100, 200, dan 400 mg/kg bb diberikan secara oral, serta kelompok normal tanpa perlakuan. Perlakuan dikerjakan setiap hari selama 15 hari. Hasil analisis statistik dengan Anova dua arah dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Tukey, ekstrak n-heksana daun pucuk merah dengan dosis 100, 200, dan 400 mg/kg bb dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah yang signifikan jika dibandingkan dengan kontrol negatif (p0,05). This research has been conducted to examine the antidiabetic activity of n-hexane extract of Syzygium myrtifolium Walp. leaves. The purpose of this research is to determine the antidiabetic activity of n-hexane extract of leaves with the main parameters of the percentage descent in blood glucose levels. Parameters which are measured include the percentage of weight changes, urine volume, water volume, and relative organ weight. Inducers which was used is alloxan tetrahydrate at dose of 175 mg/kg bw intraperitoneally (ip). Positive control group as given glibenclamide at dose of 0,65 mg/kg bw, negative control using Na CMC, 3 groups of n-hexane extract at doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg bw were given orally, and the normal group without treatment. Treatments conducted every day for 15 days. Results of statistical analysis using two-way Anova and followed by Post Hoc Tukey test, n-hexane extract of S. myrtifolium leaves at the doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg bw can decrease blood glucose levels significantly compared to the negative control group (p0.05)
