The Marangoni effect and translation of free non-deformable drops

A model is presented for flow caused by interface tension gradients, the so called Marangoni effect, on a free, nondeformable drop. A free drop, initially at rest, undergoes a translation motion upon the action of surface flow. The experiments carried out by injecting a drop with surfactants, which induce an interface tension gradient, are in good agreement with the theoretical model proposed

Based on the data of Family Planning Field Officer in South Palu sub district in 2014, 10,138 women of childbearing age (WUS) were women aged β‰₯ 35 years old using women\u27s method of contraception (MOW) as many as 439 women of childbearing age. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors associated with the use of contraceptive methods of women\u27s surgery (MOW) in Kecamatan Palu Selatan. The design of this study is an analytical survey of cross sectional study approach. The population in this study were fertile couples aged β‰₯ 35 years amounted to 99 respondents. The analysis used in this research is univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The results of this study indicate that there is no correlation between knowledge with use of contraception method of operation of woman (MOW) with value p = 0,981 (p = 0,05), there is no correlation between education with use of contraception method operation woman (MOW) with value p = 0.604 (p = 0.05), there was a relationship between husband support and contraceptive use of female operation method (MOW) with p = 0,009 (p = 0,05). This research suggests that people can know and understand the usefulness in the use of contraceptive methods of women\u27s surgery (MOW).Keywords : Contraception, application of contraception Mow, method of women operatio

Cytochrome P450-derived eicosanoids: the neglected pathway in cancer

Endogenously produced lipid autacoids are locally acting small molecule mediators that play a central role in the regulation of inflammation and tissue homeostasis. A well-studied group of autacoids are the products of arachidonic acid metabolism, among which the prostaglandins and leukotrienes are the best known. They are generated by two pathways controlled by the enzyme systems cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase, respectively. However, arachidonic acid is also substrate for a third enzymatic pathway, the cytochrome P450 (CYP) system. This third eicosanoid pathway consists of two main branches: Ο‰-hydroxylases convert arachidonic acid to hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acids (HETEs) and epoxygenases convert it to epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs). This third CYP pathway was originally studied in conjunction with inflammatory and cardiovascular disease. Arachidonic acid and its metabolites have recently stimulated great interest in cancer biology; but, unlike prostaglandins and leukotrienes the link between cytochome P450 metabolites and cancer has received little attention. In this review, the emerging role in cancer of cytochrome P450 metabolites, notably 20-HETE and EETs, are discussed

Sequence diversity in CYP3A promoters and characterization of the genetic basis of polymorphic CYP3A5 expression

Variation in the CYP3A enzymes, which act in drug metabolism, influences circulating steroid levels and responses to half of all oxidatively metabolized drugs. CYP3A activity is the sum activity of the family of CYP3A genes, including CYP3A5, which is polymorphically expressed at high levels in a minority of Americans of European descent and Europeans (hereafter collectively referred to as 'Caucasians'). Only people with at least one CYP3A5*1 allele express large amounts of CYP3A5. Our findings show that single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in CYP3A5*3 and CYP3A5*6 that cause alternative splicing and protein truncation result in the absence of CYP3A5 from tissues of some people. CYP3A5 was more frequently expressed in livers of African Americans (60%) than in those of Caucasians (33%). Because CYP3A5 represents at least 50% of the total hepatic CYP3A content in people polymorphically expressing CYP3A5, CYP3A5 may be the most important genetic contributor to interindividual and interracial differences in CYP3A-dependent drug clearance and in responses to many medicines

In the present paper, we study the mixed summation integral type operators having different weight functions, we obtain the rate of point wise convergence, an asymptotic formula of Voronovskaja type and some local direct results in terms of modulus of smoothness and modulus of continuity in ordinary and simultaneous approximation.
