    This thesis deals with understanding drivers influencing the end price of fuel in the Czech Republic and ramifications for relevant companies. Its aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of all relevant elements have been influencing end prices of gasoline and diesel during last 8 years, understand their leverage and uncover which of those were the most important for this development. These are then researched using mainly graphical analysis and basic statistical tools. The delivery is that both prices of gasoline and diesel are highly correlated with the price development of crude oil and the prices of their respective commoditized barges expressed in the nominal value of CZK. It was also discovered that there are visible tendencies for asymmetrical pricing reaction and reaction lags, which could serve as a basis for a follow-up work. Based on these findings several conclusive recommendations for relevant companies were built and delivered

    This bachelor thesis deals with the nuclear phase-out of Germany in 2011. The main objective of this thesis is to clarify what is the rationale behind this phase-out and whether it was a purely political concession or if there were some other reasons why to do so. It also contemplates possible aftermaths for Germany, caused by this phase-out. Another part deals with possible consequences for Czech Republic, especially for its energy sector. In the first part the attention is devoted to a historical usage of nuclear power in Germany, then the thesis deals with the period around Fukushima's disaster and its impact on German society and politics. The following part attends to clarify the perspectives of German energy phase-out- wise and special attention is given to possibilities of the future development. In the last part the most important outcomes for Czech Republic are being discussed

    Gas Dispute in 2009 between Russia and Ukraine in the Context of the External Energy Security of the EU

    This bachelor thesis deals with the recent gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, which took place in 2009, and its consequences to the external energy security of the EU. The first part applies itself to the fundamental sakes of long-lasting problems between Russia and Ukraine in the gas field and their evaluation. In the second part, the actual dispute of 2009 is being examined, whereas the attention is paid foremost to the possible causes of the dispute. The last part concerns itself with the review of gathered facts in the context of the current energy policy of the EU, the EU-Russia relationship is being examined and the dependability of Russia is being questioned. There is also a devoted space to discuss the most frequently mentioned diversification options of transit routes in the context of russian interests
