Two-band superconductivity in doped SrTiO films and interfaces
We investigate the possibility of multi-band superconductivity in SrTiO
films and interfaces using a two-dimensional two-band model. In the undoped
compound, one of the bands is occupied whereas the other is empty. As the
chemical potential shifts due to doping by negative charge carriers or
application of an electric field, the second band becomes occupied, giving rise
to a strong enhancement of the transition temperature and a sharp feature in
the gap functions, which is manifested in the local density of states spectrum.
By comparing our results with tunneling experiments in Nb-doped SrTiO, we
find that intra-band pairing dominates over inter-band pairing, unlike other
known multi-band superconductors. Given the similarities with the value of the
transition temperature and with the band structure of LaAlO/SrTiO
heterostructures, we speculate that the superconductivity observed in
SrTiO interfaces may be similar in nature to that of bulk SrTiO,
involving multiple bands with distinct electronic occupations.Comment: revised expanded versio
Average-Case Optimal Approximate Circular String Matching
Approximate string matching is the problem of finding all factors of a text t
of length n that are at a distance at most k from a pattern x of length m.
Approximate circular string matching is the problem of finding all factors of t
that are at a distance at most k from x or from any of its rotations. In this
article, we present a new algorithm for approximate circular string matching
under the edit distance model with optimal average-case search time O(n(k + log
m)/m). Optimal average-case search time can also be achieved by the algorithms
for multiple approximate string matching (Fredriksson and Navarro, 2004) using
x and its rotations as the set of multiple patterns. Here we reduce the
preprocessing time and space requirements compared to that approach
Automated Detection of Human Users in Twitter
AbstractThis paper compares Suppport Vector Machine (SVM) classification and a number of clustering approaches to separate human from not human users in Twitter in order to identify normal human activity. These approaches have similar F1 accuracy scores of 90% with both experienc- ing difficulties in classifying human users behaving abnormally. A second stage classification step was then used to further separate not human users into brands, celebrities and promoters / information achieving an average F1 accuracy of 74%. These accuracies were achieved by reducing the size of the feature space using stepwise feature selection and category balancing from manual inspection of classification results
provetes de tipo push-out. Um grupo destes provetes foi ensaiado sob carregamento monotónico com controlo de deformação e outro grupo foi ensaiado sob carregamento
composto por ciclos de carga e descarga de várias amplitudes. O trabalho experimental foi

Identification Of Family Variables In Parents' Groups Of Children With Epilepsy.
To verify the effectiveness of the support group in the identification of family variables linked to epilepsy. Pre-test were applied to parents of 21 children with benign epilepsy of childhood recently diagnosed, from 5 to 15 years, who participated in the groups at HC/Unicamp. There was a presentation of an educational video, discussion and application of the post-test 1. After six months, the post-test 2 was applied. The beliefs were: fear of swallowing the tongue during the seizures (76.19%) and of a future mental disease (66.67%). Facing the epilepsy, fear and sadness appeared. 76.19% of the parents presented overprotection and 90.48%, expected a new seizure. In the post-test 1, the parents affirmed that the information offered had modified the beliefs. In the post-test 2, 80.95% didn't report great doubts about epilepsy and 90.48% considered their relationship with their children better. The demystification of beliefs supplied from the groups influenced the family positively, prevented behavior alterations and guaranteed effective care in the attendance to the child with epilepsy.59854-

Milk as a drug delivery platform in paediatrics
Communication presented at the PSSRC − 9th Annual Symposium. 16-18 September 2015, Ghent, Belgium"Purpose: to assess the physical properties of spray dried milk powders and evaluate drug-milk interactions.
Medicinal powders made of fresh milk for pediatric use
Communication presented at the 1st International Congress of CiiEM - From Basic Sciences to Clinical Research. 27-28 November 2015, Egas Moniz, Caparica, Portugal"Nowadays, the need to formulate medicines specifically designed for children is imperative [1] and solid dosage forms are the first choice for providing the required drug stability and dose accuracy. Milk, as a worldwide accepted food, is proposed in this study as a platform to deliver drugs orally in pediatrics. Therefore, the main goals of this project are: (a) to assess the properties of spray-dried milk powders, (b) to evaluate drug-milk interactions and (c) to ascertain the stability of the spray-dried milk powders."Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologi
