Background: One of the most significant issues of areas of work and family interactions is work-family conflict. Dominant traditional and stereotypical attitudes toward women’s roles and doing institutionalized house chores provoke problems such as a decline in organizational performance and adverse physical, mental, and behavioral effects in women. The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of choice theory education on reducing work-family conflict of women working in the hospital. Methods: The quasi-experimental research conducted in a pre-test and post-test control group design aimed to examine the effectiveness of the choice theory education on reducing work-family conflict of 12 participants in the experimental group and 12 participants in the control group who were selected by multistage cluster sampling.   Results: The result of Covariance analysis revealed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control group in post-test (Pvalue< 0.001, F=50.13). Conclusions:  It can be concluded that the education of choice theory's concepts can be used as one of the strategies of reducing the work-family conflict to confront its negative consequences in organizations and families

Spontaneous adrenal hematoma is a very rare condition and its prevalence has been reported to be about 1% in previous studies. Although various causes have been proposed to explain its incidence in existing case reports, the etiology and pathology of this condition is still not known. The present study presents a case of spontaneous adrenal hematoma in a pregnant 31 year old woman without history of trauma or other probable risk factors of hemorrhage, presenting to the emergency department with chief complaint of pain in the right flank. Diagnostic measures, imaging and laparotomy, confirmed the diagnosis of spontaneous adrenal hematoma for her

Influence of soil physicochemical properties on biometrical and physical features of persian oak wood

This article investigates the relationships between soil characteristics (physical and chemical) and wood properties of Persian oak in three different elevation sites. For this purpose, 27 trees were randomly chosen and cut in Zagros forests in western Iran. The test samples were prepared at the stem (breast height) to examine physical and biometrical properties. For each elevation site, four soil samples were obtained at a 0-20 cm soil depth under the canopy of each tree to measure soil properties, including clay, silt soil, sand soil, electrical conductivity, pH, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and organic matter content. Then, the relationship of soil and wood properties was determined by principal component analysis. Results specified that there are a positive correlation between wood density and volumetric swelling with clay and available potassium. Moreover, the results revealed a positive correlation between fiber length, cell wall thickness, and fiber diameter with electrical conductivity, sand percentage, and total nitrogen content, respectively

Introduction: Job crafting is the process of making proactive changes in the boundariescomposing a job, which are known as mental fences that individuals adopt to define their job’sphysical, emotional, or cognitive limitations. Job crafting considers the change in the natureof jobs, whether realistically in the form of task crafting and relational crafting, or as cognitiveperceptions. In this study, the role of self-efficacy as the antecedent and work engagement asthe consequence of job crafting was studied. Methods: The jobs were academic and the sample was selected from faculty members ofShiraz University of Medical Sciences. The research questionnaires were distributed amongfaculty members of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. A PLS model is analyzed andinterpreted in two stages: the assessment of the reliability and validity of the measurementmodel, and the assessment of the structural model. Results: The results showed that self-efficacy was positively related to all dimensions ofjob crafting. Moreover, the triple dimensions of job crafting had a significant positiveeffect on work engagement. The moderating role of gender and academic level in therelationship between self-efficacy and work engagement was confirmed. However, theresults showed that gender did not moderate the relationship between self-efficacy andtask crafting. Conclusion: The main novelty of this research is the study of job crafting, self-efficacy andengagement variables considering the moderating role of gender and academic level

Background: This study aimed to determine the mediating role of distress tolerance in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and psychiatric symptoms among addicts. Methods: The statistical population of this study consists of addicts referring to addiction treatment clinics in Zanjan city, Iran. Using the multi-stage cluster sampling method, 150 participants were selected as a sample and completed the questionnaires. Early maladaptive schema questionnaire-short form, symptom checklist-25 (SCL-25), and the distress tolerance scale were completed by participants. Results: The findings of this study indicate a negative and significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and distress tolerance among addicts. Also, there is a positive and significant relationship between early maladaptive schemas and psychiatric symptoms among addicts. It can be said that there is a significant negative relationship between distress tolerance and psychiatric symptoms in addicts. Conclusions: The final results of this study show that in the relationship between early maladaptive schemas and psychiatric symptoms among addicts in Zanjan city, distress tolerance plays a mediating role and the model has a goodness of fit. Introduction: The important factors in the development of chronic diseases are obesity and overweight. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks aerobic training on interleukin- 6, insulin resistance and glucose in overweight young girls. Methods: Twenty-one girls with an age range of 20-30 years were selected voluntarily and randomly divided into experimental (n = 11) and control (n = 10) groups. The aerobic exercise program lasted for 8 weeks, with a frequency of 3 sessions per week, with training sessions starting from 30 minutes in the first session and 50 minutes in the final session, and the intensity of 60-70% of the heart rate reserve. The blood sample was taken before beginning the main study program. The independent sample t-test, paired sample t- test and the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test were used to compare the pre-test and post-test information between the groups. Results: Eight weeks of aerobic exercise had no significant effect on body mass index (p=0.43), fat percent (p=0.72), waist to hip rate (p=0.85), interleukin- 6 (p=0.86), insulin resistance (p=0.59) and glucose (p=0.78) nevertheless significantly reduced the weight (p=0.004). Conclusion: It appears that eight-week aerobic exercise program could be beneficial for weight loss, but it did not affect glucose concentration, insulin resistance, interleukin- 6 serum, fat percentage, waist to hip ratio and BMI

Background: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the prevention and relationship enhancement program (PREP) on marital burnout in married women. Methods: Thirty married women were selected and randomly replaced in experimental (n=15) and control (n=15) groups. The quasi-experimental research method was conducted in the pretest-posttest control group design to examine the effectiveness of the PREP on marital burnout in married women. The sessions of the PREP were implemented for the experimental group during 8 sessions of 90 minutes, one session per week, and no educational intervention was performed for the control group. Multivariate analysis of covariance was used as a statistical method. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between the control and experimental groups in psychological and emotional aspects of marital burnout(Pvalue≤0.02). Our results also showed that the total burnout score was significantly different from pre-test to post-test in the experimental group (Pvalue≤0.01). Conclusions: It can be implied from the results of our study that PREP can have different implications in Iranian culture.
