Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and prognosis following treatment of cerebral vasospasm (CVS) patients with a combination of cinnarizide maleate and nimodipine after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).Methods: Eighty-eight patients with CVS after SAH were selected and divided into control group (CG) and study group (EG), each with 44 patients (n = 44). Patients in CG were treated with intravenous infusion of cinnarizide maleate, while those in EG received intravenous infusion of cinnarizide maleate together, and their clinical efficacy and prognosis were compared. Results: Compared with CG, total treatment effectiveness (response) in EG was significantly higher, while levels of inflammatory factors were lower (p < 0.05). Serum protein levels of S100 β and ET-1, and MCA blood flow velocity in EG were notably lower (p < 0.05), but GCS scores were highercompared with CG (p < 0.05). The NIHSS scores were lower and BI indices were higher in EG than in CG (p < 0.05).Conclusion: Treatment of CVS patients after SAH using a combination of cinnarizide maleate and nimodipine effectively reduces the levels of inflammatory factors, improves quality of prognosis, and relieves symptoms of CVS, when compared with administration of cinnarizide maleate only. Therefore, the combination treatment is recommended for the management of CVS after SAH

[Introduction] In view of the irregular geometric shape, complex load and heavy weight of the nacelle of a permanent magnet direct drive wind turbine, it is necessary to optimize the analysis and design. [Method] Based on the finite element analysis of the geometric parameters of the nacelle and the calculation results of the shape of the elbow, the finite element analysis was established. [Result] After optimization, the maximum von Mises stress of the nacelle is reduced from 181 MPa to 173 MPa, and the stress is reduced by 4.4%, which meets the strength requirements. The weight of the nacelle is reduced by 14.2% from 52.7 tons to 45.2 tons. [Conclusion] The research shows that the optimization effect is obvious, which provides a reference for the design and optimization method of such nacelle of wind turbine

This paper aimed to assess water, sanitation, and hygiene services in rural Gambia and to evaluate the association between water access and women’s overall happiness, education, and income levels in rural households. A secondary data analyses of 2018 UNICEF-MICS data was carried out. A total number of 2,202 women aged between 15-49 years old from rural households in The Gambia were included in the study. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were performed. The results showed that more than 80% of households had basic access to improved water sources with water-collection time less than 30 minutes for a round trip. However, the majority (73.5%) of the households did not have basic sanitation facilities. Less than half of households had basic handwashing facilities. Results from bivariate analyses indicated that a higher percentage of wealthy households had significantly greater sanitation facilities and water services (58.4% and 8.6% respectively, p<.05). Results from logistic regression showed that women from households who had basic handwashing facilities had a higher probability of being happy compared to women from households who had limited or no handwashing facilities at all (OR:1.369; CI: 1.086-1.725; P<.05). In conclusion, water security plays an integral role in closing the gap between gender inequality and promoting more education and job opportunities for women in rural Gambia

Mid-Luteal Olfactory Abilities Reveal Healthy Women's Emotional and Cognitive Functions

Ovarian hormones modulate women's physical and psychological states periodically. Although the olfactory function is increasingly recognized as a reflection of physical and mental health conditions in the clinic, the role of olfaction in emotional and cognitive functions for healthy individuals has yet to be elucidated, especially when taking the menstrual cycle into account. We carried out a comprehensive investigation to explore whether the menstrual cycle could modulate women's olfactory function and whether healthy women's emotional symptoms and behavioral impulsivity could be characterized by their olfactory abilities at a specific menstrual cycle stage. Twenty-nine healthy young women were evaluated repeatedly using a standard olfactory test battery during the late follicular and mid-luteal phases. Their emotional symptoms and behavioral impulsivity were separately quantified via psychometric scales and a stop-signal task. We observed enhanced olfactory discrimination performance during the mid-luteal phase than the late follicular phase. We also found that women's better olfactory discrimination and worse olfactory threshold in the mid-luteal phase predicted fewer individual emotional symptoms and lower behavioral impulsivity, respectively. These relationships were nonetheless absent in the late follicular phase. Our data extend previous clinical observations of the coexistence of olfactory deficits and neuropsychiatric disorders, providing new insights into the significance of olfaction and ovarian hormones for emotional and cognitive functions

LMI-Based Method of Robust Fault Detection H 4 Filter for Anti-Pinch of Pure Electric Vehicles

Abstract: In order to effectively solve the risk of safety on power window, this study introduces the LMI-based method of designing robust fault detection H 4 filter for anti-pinch window control system. For detecting the pinched condition, the pinch torque is considered as a fault to design a residual generator. By comparing the residual signal with the pre-designed threshold, the occurrence of pinch can be detected. The main contribution consisted of the formulation of the multi-objective optimization H 4 and H -problem as H 4 optimization problem by using the residual error instead of residual. The solution of the optimization problem is solved via LMI technique. Based on MATLAB, the results show that the algorithm can detect the fault after it occurs 70 ms. In addition, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has high sensitivity to fault and strong robustness to uncertainties

Mean-variance Trading Portfolio Selection for A Class of Energy Retailers

Due to the volatile price of various energy products, energy retailers in many countries are facing the risk of going bankrupt. This paper focuses on a class of energy retailers that trade energy products including the electricity option, the natural gas option and the white certificate. From the perspective of such energy retailers, this paper studies a portfolio selection strategy that can achieve the maximized asset value and mitigate the potential risk of purchasing energy products at high prices. Firstly, a class of linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and stochastic differential equations (SDEs) are used to model the dynamic time-varying price of electricity option, natural gas option and white certificate accurately. Secondly, based on the mean-variance model, the portfolio selection strategy problem of energy retailers trading these three products is formulated as a stochastic optimal control problem. Then, the linear-quadratic (LQ) control method is used to solve the problem analytically with mathematical theorem, and the obtain controller is indeed the desired optimal trading strategy. Finally, a series of examples demonstrating the correctness of the proposed portfolio selection strategy are provided

Background The genetic landscape of the Qiongzhong aborigines, who reside in “the Heart of Hainan,” is still unclear. The Goldeneye™ DNA ID System 20 A is available for forensic and population genetics applications. Aim To obtain genetic polymorphisms of 19 autosomal STR loci in the Qiongzhong aborigines, and to explore the genetic relationships with a total of 69,132 people from forty-five populations. Subjects and methods Genotype data on 19 autosomal STRs were collected from 724 Qiongzhong aborigines and phylogenetic relationships were conducted by multidimensional scaling analysis (MDS), principal component analysis (PCA) and neighbor-joining (N-J) phylogenetic tree construction. Results No evidence of deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was identified. A total of 233 distinct alleles were observed with allele frequencies ranging from 0.0007 to 0.5375. The combined power of discrimination (CPD) and combined power of exclusion (CPE) for the 19 autosomal STR loci were 1–8.28 × 10–34 and 0.999999987, respectively. Conclusion Our phylogenetic results demonstrated that (a) the populations of Southeast Asian countries have thorough integrations with southern China in terms of ethnicity and genetics due to long-term cultural and trade exchanges, and (b) based on genetic and linguistic analysis, the Qiongzhong aborigines have a close relationship with Fujian Han Chinese.Highlights The STR landscape of Qiongzhong aborigines inhabited in Hainan tropical rainforests was depicted by 19 autosomal STRs. A total of 69,132 people from forty-five populations were selected for a more extensive examination of genetic similarities and differences by multivariate statistical methods (MDS, PCA and N-J tree construction). The genetic analyses indicated that the populations of Southeast Asian countries are very genetically close to southern Chinese populations. From the genetic and linguistic perspective, the Qiongzhong aborigines have a close relationship with Han Chinese from Fujian Province
