    Penelitian ini berlangsung di universitas/sekolah tinggi di Kabupaten Majalengka pada mahasiswa semester empat dengan berdasar pada asumsi bahwa kemampuanmenulis harus dikembangkan secara berkesinambungan sebagai salah satu upaya untuk menciptakan budaya literasi di kampus. Metode RMD merupakan pengembangan dari metode RCM yang telah berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan menulis pada siswa SD kelas tinggi. Penulis mencoba mengadaptasinya agar bisa diterapkan pada mahasiswa yang memiliki tingkat kemampuan lebih tinggi. Metode itu dilakukan dengan pendekatan Collaborative Writing untuk membuat pembelajaran writing menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa untuk membuat karangan yang layak publikasi. Data penelitian diperoleh dari beberapa cara, yakni melalui analisis dokumen, observasi, kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil observasi awal, kemampuan menulis mahasiswa masih rendah, mereka sulit menemukan ide dan mengembangkan karangan sehingga perlu dicari metode dan pendekatan yang cocok untuk mengatasinya. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode RMD dikombinasikan dengan pendekatan collaborative writing bisa digunakan karena hal itu memberikan ide dan merangsang imajinasi dan kreatifitas mahasiswa sehingga mereka mampu mengembangkan karangan. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan kemampuan menulis mahasiswa menigkat signifikan dengan menggunakan metode RMD yang dikombinasikan dengan collaborative writing sehingga mereka mampu membuat buku

    The Effect of RPG Maker Mobile Learning Model in Learning English

    The aimed of this research was to measure the effect of application (RPG) MakerMV. This research belongs to experimental research and quasi experimental design. It described about the effect of using of the application. The research methodology was a quantitative method. The population of this study was one Class XI students from MA Siti Khadijah, and the sample was twenty students or two classes throughpurposive sampling. The research result showed that this application were very effective and very easy to use.The researcher concluded that the experimental group through this application in the right way. The average percentage of student activity is 75.6%, which is included in both categories.The experimental group had higher score (429) after learning English vocabulary using direct method than control group (274). The conclusions of this study was RPG Maker mobile effective in the teaching learning English. This study recommended to use this aplication in teaching english. The purposes of this research are (1) the levels of the speaking skill of the students   (2) to find out the effectiveness of jigsaw in students speaking skill, (3) the factors that influence the effectiveness of using Jigsaw in improving the speaking skill. This research belongs to experimental research and quasi experimental design. It describes about a study that cast about the effect of giving treatment of using Jigsaw in students speaking skill to an experimental group. The test result of posttest in experimental class showed that the students’ average is 72.06. It can be seen in proficiency level of speaking, majority of the students who got mark in the level of 3. The result of this study showed that the students in the experiment group got better development in the average scores than the control group in speaking test. The difference of the development of the average scores is statistically significant at the (0.5) alpha level of significance. It was found that there was significant difference for those who were taught using Jigsaw and those without it. The difference is shown by the development of the average scores. The group that used Jigsaw as medium in Jigsaw got better improvement in the average scores (15.39 ) than those without Jigsaw (0.684) Keywords – jigsaw, students speaking skil

    The research is entitled “A descriptive study on the Usability coherence and cohesion with the curriculum) of some modules. The purposes of this research are (1). To describe the correlation of the used modules of English on sky and Effective English by Tiga Serangkai with the curriculum in teaching English for the third grade students of SMPN 10 Kota cirebon. (2). To figure out how the used modules of English on sky and Effective English by Tiga Serangkai  in teaching English for the third grade students of SMPN 10 Kota Cirebon. (3). To figure out the Teacher’s perception about the Module in teaching English of the third grade students of SMPN 10 Kota Cirebon.This research belongs to descriptive qualitative. the collected data were analyzed by making written description. After conducting the research, the researcher concluded that The modules are not 100% fulfilled the criteria as demanded by 2013 curriculum.  In the teaching and learning, the use of modules is adjusted with the order of basic competences required by the curriculum and also the time allocation. Both modules above are not the only handbooks which are used in the teaching and learning process. The teachers find that using modules in teaching and process is effective although sometimes the units/topics are disorderly arranged.

    IMPLEMENTING QUIZZIZ AS GAME BASED LEARNING IN TEACHING GRAMMAR IN WRITTEN DISCOURSE

    Quizizz is an online assessment tool as a fun multiplayer classroom activity that allows all students to practice together with their computer, Smartphone and I Pad. The main purpose of this research was to find the effect of implemening quizziz in the discourse classroom of Universitas Majalengka. The population of this research were semester four studens of English department, and the samples were 22 students. This research belongs to pre-experimental research and one group pre and pos test design. It described about a study that cast about the effect of giving treatment of using quizziz in single group only.A pre-experimental research was conducted by comparing the means of the participants’ scores in both pre-test and post-test. The analysis figured out that there was a significant improvement, proven by the paired t-test analysis.The p-value 0.00 was less than alpha 0.05. This research concluded that quizziz was effective to assist the students to learn grammar in written discouse.After implementing quizziz, most of studentsfound that were very active to answer the questions which provided by researches, and more concentrated on the topic. And the results of the questioners shows that the students displayed the position attitude for quizizz as a online teaching and assessment tool during the Grammar in Written Discourse class

    Project – Based Learning: Facilitating the Development of Students’ Critical Thinking in English Essay Writing

    This study aimed to investigate how the project – based learning was implemented to facilitate the development of students’ critical thinking skills in English essay writing in higher education context. An exploratory case study research design was used in this study while the participants were one lecturer and 15 students. The data were gleaned from classroom observations, interview, and documents. The data analysis results that teaching English essay writing in which project- based learning was implemented covers three stages including preparation, implementation, and presentation. The other result from data analysis shows that the students can write essay cohesively and coherently in which this results indicates students’ critical thinking skills.  The results lead to the conclusion that all of the students had chance to be actively involved during the project and in teaching and learning prosess. It indicates that project – based learning apparently could facilitate the development of students’ critical thinking in English essay writing

    Pembejaran abad ke 21 harus memliki konsep multiliteracies yang mencakup pemahaman informasi bersifat komprehensif dan factual. Dalam kegiatan sosialisasi ini, ada keteribatan para santri dari jenjang sekolah dasar, menengah, dan perguruan tinggi di lingkungan Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Mubtadi’in yang diberikan pemaparan terkait penggunaan platform dan media pembelajaran dalam matapelajaran bahasa Inggris. Hasil kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah para santri nampak sangat bersemangat dalam mengikuti pengerjaan soal-soal bahasa Inggris secara dalam jaringan dengan menggunakan laptop atau ponsel-ponsel yang dimiliki oleh santri. Dan juga para santri mampu mengoperasikan atau menggunakan media ataupun platform pembejaran dalam jarring secara baik dan komprehensif. Sebagai contoh santri dapat membedakan berita factual dan berita Hoax yang mana itu mengindikasikan bahwa santri dapat memahami informasi dengan bijak dan sesuai fakta. Konsep multiliterasi dapat diimplementasikan dalam bentuk pengintegrasian peran digital teknologi dengan materi yang terkait dan berkontribusi pada peningkatan wawasan baru dalam pemanafaatan sosial media dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris atau bisa dikatakan mahasiswa diarahkan menjadi pribadi yang multiliterate yang mana mahasiswa mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang bernuansa multiliterasi pada abad ke 21 ini

    Reading Journal as a Way to Improve Students’ Reading Comprehension

    Reading journal is one way to record students’ independent learning based on text they read. This study was conducted to fnd out the students’ level of reading comprehension through some notes written in the reading journal, the extent to which the activity of writing reading journals improved students’ reading comprehension, whether the students got beneft from reading journal. There were 80 respondents coming from three different classes in Majalengka University were asked to read a text related to the subject they learned in a certain session. Then they were assigned to write a journal that records the things they had read. When this task was fnished, the lecturer ran a quiz containing related questions to check whether they really understood the content of the text. Afterwards, students were to fll in a questionnaire regarding their opinion on the impact of the reading journal toward their reading comprehension. The fndings indicate that more than half of the participants appear to understand the material well, and the task plays a certain role in improving students’ understanding in reading comprehension. The most crucial thing is that most students think they get benefit by writing the reading journal

    To improve the competence of vocational students, the Ministry of Education and Culture provides free TOEIC test facilities for vocational students through the SMK ENGLISH CHALLENGE program: FACILITATION OF INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATION OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE CAPABILITIES WITH TOEIC FOR SMK STUDENTS. SMKN 1 Kadipaten is one of the schools in Majalengka Regency that utilizes facilities from the Ministry of Education and Culture. To improve students' competence in order to obtain satisfactory TOEIC scores, English teachers at SMKN 1 Kadipaten are committed to implementing various mentoring methods for test-taking students. However, the test faced at least two obstacles, namely, coincided with school holidays and also the implementation of field work experience program so that direct guidance through face-to-face became impossible. This is certainly a problem that requires a good solution. This PKM program aims to assist English teachers at SMKN 1 Kadipaten to find effective ways to increase the TOEIC scores achieved by students. The method of implementing this program is carried out with a Forum Group Discussion approach to English teachers and is applied to students by utilizing social media and the online meeting application, Google Meet. At the end of the program, students are able to prepare themselves optimally both from a technical point of view, motivation and knowledge of the TOEIC test
