Chirikov Diffusion in the Asteroidal Three-Body Resonance (5,-2,-2)

The theory of diffusion in many-dimensional Hamiltonian system is applied to asteroidal dynamics. The general formulations developed by Chirikov is applied to the Nesvorn\'{y}-Morbidelli analytic model of three-body (three-orbit) mean-motion resonances (Jupiter-Saturn-asteroid system). In particular, we investigate the diffusion \emph{along} and \emph{across} the separatrices of the (5,-2,-2) resonance of the (490) Veritas asteroidal family and their relationship to diffusion in semi-major axis and eccentricity. The estimations of diffusion were obtained using the Melnikov integral, a Hadjidemetriou-type sympletic map and numerical integrations for times up to $10^{8}$ years.Comment: 27 pages, 6 figure

Tendência genética do peso ao desmame de bezerros da raça Nelore.

Estudou-se a tendência genética do peso ao desmame de 94.052 animais da raça Nelore de seis regiões do Brasil, através da metodologia de SMITH (1962), com dois modelos estatísticos, um contendo os efeitos fixos de sexo, mes e ano de nascimento do bezerro, fazenda e idade da vaca ao parto e o efeito aleatório de touro, o outro, semelhante, porem, sem o efeito de touro. Os valores obtidos foram 994;-188;902;692;868;1115 g/ano, para as diferentes regiões estudadas. Os ganhos genético obtidos no período, em geral, foram altos, a exceção da região dois que apresentaram valor negativo, revelando, talvez, a inexistência de um programa de seleção.Resumo expandid

Influência da idade da vaca e correlação genética para pesos de bezerros da raça Guzera, criados nos estados de Minas Gerais e Goiás.

Os objeticos foram estudar a influencia da idade da vaca sobre o peso ao desmame e aos 365 dias de idade, pelo metodo dos quadrados minimos, e estimar a correlacao genetica entre essas duas carcterísticas, pelo metodo da maxima verossimilhanca restrita, para animais da raca guzera, para o estudo da idae da vaca, no modelo incluiram-se os efitos fixos de grupo de contemporaneos e a covariavel idade da vaca ao parto (linear e quadratico) e do erro aleatorio; e para se estimar a idade da vaca unfluenciou todas as caracteristicas estudadas dos animais de Minas Gerais, mas apenas o peso a desmam dos animais de Goias. A correlacao genetica foi igual a 0,52 e 0,68 para os animais criados em Goias e Minas Gerais, respectivamente

Numerical Approaches to Spacetime Singularities

Numerical exploration of the properties of singularities could, in principle, yield detailed understanding of their nature in physically realistic cases. Spectrometric method to detect exoplanets as another test to verify the invariance of the velocity of light

Hypothetical influences of variability of light velocity due to the parameters of the source of radiation, for the results of spectral measurements of stars to search for exoplanets are considered. Accounting accelerations of stars relative to the barycenter of the star - a planet (the planets) was carried out. The dependence of the velocity of light from the barycentric radial velocity and barycentric radial acceleration component of the star should lead to a substantial increase (up to degree of magnitude) semi-major axes of orbits detected candidate to extrasolar planets. Consequently, the correct comparison of the results of spectral method with results of other well-known modern methods of detecting extrasolar planets can regard the results obtained in this paper as a reliable test for testing the invariance of the velocity of light.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figure

Exact integral equation for the renormalized Fermi surface

The true Fermi surface of a fermionic many-body system can be viewed as a fixed point manifold of the renormalization group (RG). Within the framework of the exact functional RG we show that the fixed point condition implies an exact integral equation for the counterterm which is needed for a self-consistent calculation of the Fermi surface. In the simplest approximation, our integral equation reduces to the self-consistent Hartree-Fock equation for the counterterm.Comment: 5 pages, 1 figur
