A Refinement of Jensen's Discrete Inequality for Differentiable Convex Functions
A refinement of Jensen’s discrete inequality and applications for the celebrated Arithmetic Mean – Geometric Mean – Harmonc Mean inequality and Cauchy-Schwartz-Bunikowski inequality are pointed out
Polynomial Solutions of Shcrodinger Equation with the Generalized Woods Saxon Potential
The bound state energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenfunctions of
the generalized Woods Saxon potential are obtained in terms of the Jacobi
polynomials. Nikiforov Uvarov method is used in the calculations. It is shown
that the results are in a good agreement with the ones obtained before.Comment: 14 pages, 2 figures, submitted to Physical Review
Scattering of Woods-Saxon Potential in Schrodinger Equation
The scattering solutions of the one-dimensional Schrodinger equation for the
Woods-Saxon potential are obtained within the position-dependent mass
formalism. The wave functions, transmission and reflection coefficients are
calculated in terms of Heun's function. These results are also studied for the
constant mass case in detail.Comment: 14 page
Effective Mass Dirac-Morse Problem with any kappa-value
The Dirac-Morse problem are investigated within the framework of an
approximation to the term proportional to in the view of the
position-dependent mass formalism. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding
wave functions are obtained by using the parametric generalization of the
Nikiforov-Uvarov method for any -value. It is also studied the
approximate energy eigenvalues, and corresponding wave functions in the case of
the constant-mass for pseudospin, and spin cases, respectively.Comment: 12 page
Three-point function of semiclassical states at weak coupling
We give the derivation of the previously announced analytic expression for
the correlation function of three heavy non-BPS operators in N=4
super-Yang-Mills theory at weak coupling. The three operators belong to three
different su(2) sectors and are dual to three classical strings moving on the
sphere. Our computation is based on the reformulation of the problem in terms
of the Bethe Ansatz for periodic XXX spin-1/2 chains. In these terms the three
operators are described by long-wave-length excitations over the ferromagnetic
vacuum, for which the number of the overturned spins is a finite fraction of
the length of the chain, and the classical limit is known as the Sutherland
limit. Technically our main result is a factorized operator expression for the
scalar product of two Bethe states. The derivation is based on a fermionic
representation of Slavnov's determinant formula, and a subsequent bosonisation.Comment: 28 pages, 5 figures, cosmetic changes and more typos corrected in v
Non-commutative holography and scattering amplitudes in a large magnetic background
We study planar gluon scattering amplitudes and Wilson loops in
non-commutative gauge theory. Our main results are:
1. We find the map between observables in non-commutative gauge theory and
their holographic dual. In that map, the region near the boundary of the
gravitational dual describes the physics in terms of T-dual variables.
2. We show that in the presence of a large magnetic background and a UV
regulator, a planar gluon scattering amplitude reduces to a complex polygon
Wilson loop expectation value, dressed by a tractable polarization dependent
factor.Comment: 26 pages. v2: corrected section 4, reference adde
A search on the Nikiforov-Uvarov formalism
An alternative treatment is proposed for the calculations carried out within
the frame of Nikiforov-Uvarov method, which removes a drawback in the original
theory and by pass some difficulties in solving the Schrodinger equation. The
present procedure is illustrated with the example of orthogonal polynomials.
The relativistic extension of the formalism is discussed.Comment: 10 page
Systematical Approach to the Exact Solution of the Dirac Equation for A Special Form of the Woods-Saxon Potential
Exact solution of the Dirac equation for a special form of the Woods-Saxon
potential is obtained for the s-states. The energy eigenvalues and
two-component spinor wave functions are derived by using a systematical method
which is called as Nikiforov-Uvarov. It is seen that the energy eigenvalues
strongly depend on the potential parameters. In addition, it is also shown that
the non-relativistic limit can be reached easily and directly.Comment: 10 pages, no figures, submitted for Publicatio
JPL IGS Analysis Center Report, 2001-2003
Three GPS orbit and clock products are currently provided by JPL for consideration by the IGS. Each differs in its latency and quality, with later results being more accurate. Results are typically available in both IGS and GIPSY formats via anonymous ftp. Current performance based on comparisons with the IGS final products is summarized. Orbit performance was determined by computing the 3D RMS difference between each JPL product and the IGS final orbits based on 15 minute estimates from the sp3 files. Clock performance was computed as the RMS difference after subtracting a linear trend based on 15 minute estimates from the sp3 files
