ABSTRACTContexts and purposes of the collective work developed around the theme of sustainability diplomacy and paradiplomacy were presented. The theme of the version of the 2nd International Congress of Sustainability Diplomacy and the 1st Congress of Paradiplomacy in Brazil was applied to sustainable development in which it was intended, through diplomacy and paradiplomacy, an international dialogue at the service of the environment and of Mankind. Antiproton stopping power in hydrogen below 120 keV and the Barkas effect

The simultaneous measurement of the spatial coordinates and times of p¯s annihilating at rest in a H2 target at very low density ρ (ρ/ρ0<10-2, ρ0 being the STP density) gives the possibility of evaluating the behavior of the p¯ stopping power in H2 at low energies (below 120 keV). It is different from that of protons (the Barkas effect). Moreover, it is shown that a rise at low-energy values (≲1 keV) is needed to agree with experimental data

    The φπ+/ωπ+ ratio from anti-n p annihilations

A preliminary study of n ¯ p three-prong annihilations into the channels K− K+ π+ and π− π+ π+ π0 is presented for ∼ 100-297 MeV/c n ¯ momenta. The extracted φπ+/ωπ+ production ratio shows that also in this channel, never measured before using an n ¯ p beam, the OZI rule is strongly violate

An experimental study of anti-proton He-4 anihilation at rest

This paper reports new experimental results on the annihilation of antiprotons stopped in a 4He gas target. The measurement was carried out with the Obelii spectrometer installed at the LEAR machine of CERN. Main results can be summarized as follows. (i) The invariant mass distribution of 2rr+2& produced at rest is similar to those from hydrogen and deuterium targets: the peak seen in recent experiments around 1150 MeV/c’ is absent. (ii) 2rr angular correlations are very close to those found for hydrogen. The nuclear structure does not modify remarkably the pion production and emission. (iii) gp and pp angular correlations are strongly peaked close to 180 O, in qualitative agreement with INC model predictions. (iv) The pp invariant mass distribution reveals events which may be due to q(w) absorption; the estimated upper limit for probabili~ of q and o absorption is about 3 x 10m3. (v) Events having features ~mpatible with do-nucleon annihiIations with production of heavy mesonic systems are detected both in the 2rr+ 2~r- and the 27r- T+ channels. The production rate of the 2nC 2?rchannel is of the order of 5 X 10W3

Measurement of the eta(1440)->K*-K0(L)pi-+ production rates froma anti-p p annihilation at rest qt three different hydrogen target densities

From the study of the annihilation at rest pbar p --> K*K0miss pi-+ pi+- pi-, the production rates of the eta( 1440) -->K+-K0long pi-+ were obtained for three different hydrogen target densities: liquid, gaseous at NTP and at low pressure (5 mbar). The rate values are: f(LH) = (6.0+-0.5) . 10e4, f(NTP) = (2.9 +-0.4) . 10e4 and f(5 mbar) = (1.0 +-0.2) . 10e4. From these results, the density dependence of the annihilation fraction from the 1S0 protonium level can be extracted directly

Changes in the annihilation delay time distribution of stopped antiprotons in helium gas, due to contaminants. II

A different type of analysis was performed to study the effect of contaminants on the temporal distribution of delayed annihilations of antiprotons stopped in helium gas, with respect to some first results published in Ableevet. al. (Nuovo Cimento A,107 (1994) 1325). A more objective criterion was established to single out aslow part in the total delayed component, in order to deduce from this, for each case, the mean value of the product (vσ − − ) c,l of the quenching cross-section and the mean velocity of contaminant molecules, and the fraction of the slow componentη c, l . The fractionη c, l was found to be amazingly stable for each impurity, independent of the concentration: around 79% of the total delayed component for all the atomic impurities (Ar, Ne, Xe) and 64% for the molecular ones (H2, N2
