Fairness Evaluation in Cooperative Hybrid Cellular Systems

    Get PDF
Many method has been applied previously to improve the fairness of a wireless communication system. In this paper, we propose using hybrid schemes, where more than one transmission scheme are used in one system, to achieve this objective. These schemes consist of cooperative transmission schemes, maximal ratio transmission and interference alignment, and non-cooperative schemes, orthogonal and non-orthogonal schemes used alongside and in combinations in the same system to improve the fairness. We provide different weight calculation methods to vary the output of the fairness problem. We show the solution of the radio resource allocation problem for the transmission schemes used. Finally, simulation results is provided to show fairness achieved, in terms of Jain's fairness index, by applying the hybrid schemes proposed and the different weight calculation methods at different inter-site distances

Designing a Mobile Game as Promotion Media for Sambisari Temple

Sambisari temple is one of the historical tourist destinations in Sleman regency with the potential of its at-traction. By looking at the current problems, the Sleman Regency Tourism Office needs an effective media to reach the teenage as a target market. It aims to increase visits as well as supporting media for attractions of tourist attractions given to potential tourists. The design of this mobile game is intended to promote the Sambisari temple attractions in attracting teenager as a target market. This time, media games are very popular with teenagers, especially through mobile platforms that are also widely used by teenagers in seeking information and entertainment in their spare time. By using qualitative data collection meth-ods, namely through observation, literature study, interviews, surveyss and comparison matrix which are then an-alyzed as the basis for designing mobile games that are suitable for the teenager target market. It is hoped that through the design of this mobile game it will be able to provide increased visits and inform the area of Sambisari Temple Tourism for prospective tourists. Hyperparathyroidism Presenting as Acute Pancreatitis: Case Report of Mortality

Background: Acute pancreatitis may be caused by a myriad of factors, hypercalcemia secondary to hyperparathyroidism, albeit is a rare cause of acute pancreatitis but not unheard of. If the underlying cause of acute pancreatitis is diagnosed, goal-directed management becomes possible, reducing morbidity and mortality. Though acute pancreatitis on its own presents significant mortality, hypercalcemia, especially detected late, augments this. Case Report: We report a case of acute pancreatitis secondary to hyperparathyroidism. The patient was undiagnosed at the time of admission and presented with non-specific gastrointestinal symptoms. After admission, he developed multi-organ dysfunction and was managed by intensive care. The patient died within hours of admission despite our best efforts. Diagnosis of acute pancreatitis secondary to hyperparathyroidism was suspected on the basis of hypercalcemia, confirmed by a posthumous result of a raised parathyroid hormone assay. Conclusion: When a patient is admitted in the emergency department with a suspicion of acute pancreatitis, serum calcium levels and its reporting should be expedited to as early as possible. Hypercalcemia in the setting of acute pancreatitis merits a multidisciplinary approach and expedited parathyroid hormone levels sent with a high suspicion of long standing untreated hyperparathyroidism. Hyperparathyroidism is a cause of silent hypercalcemia and can be lethal if not diagnosed in time

Support Vector Regression Based S-transform for Prediction of Single and Multiple Power Quality Disturbances

This paper presents a novel approach using Support Vector Regression (SVR) based S-transform to predict the classes of single and multiple power quality disturbances in a three-phase industrial power system. Most of the power quality disturbances recorded in an industrial power system are non-stationary and comprise of multiple power quality disturbances that coexist together for only a short duration in time due to the contribution of the network impedances and types of customers’ connected loads. The ability to detect and predict all the types of power quality disturbances encrypted in a voltage signal is vital in the analyses on the causes of the power quality disturbances and in the identification of incipient fault in the networks. In this paper, the performances of two types of SVR based S-transform, the non-linear radial basis function (RBF) SVR based S-transform and the multilayer perceptron (MLP) SVR based S-transform, were compared for their abilities in making prediction for the classes of single and multiple power quality disturbances. The results for the analyses of 651 numbers of single and multiple voltage disturbances gave prediction accuracies of 86.1% (MLP SVR) and 93.9% (RBF SVR) respectively. Lyapunov Stability Analysis for Invariant States of Quantum Systems

In this article, we propose a Lyapunov stability approach to analyze the convergence of the density operator of a quantum system. In contrast to many previously studied convergence analysis methods for invariant density operators which use weak convergence, in this article we analyze the convergence of density operators by considering the set of density operators as a subset of Banach space. We show that the set of invariant density operators is both closed and convex, which implies the impossibility of having multiple isolated invariant density operators. We then show how to analyze the stability of this set via a candidate Lyapunov operator.Comment: A version of this paper has been accepted at 56th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control 201
