On two theorems for flat, affine group schemes over a discrete valuation ring

Next-to-Next-to-Leading Electroweak Logarithms in W-pair Production at ILC
We derive the high energy asymptotic behavior of gauge boson production cross
section in a spontaneously broken SU(2) gauge theory in the
next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic approximation. On the basis of this result
we obtain the logarithmically enhanced two-loop electroweak corrections to the
differential cross section of W-pair production at ILC/CLIC up to the second

Chaotic Accretion in a Non-Stationary Electromagnetic Field of a Slowly Rotating Compact Star
We investigate charge accretion in vicinity of a slowly rotating compact star
with a non-stationary electromagnetic field. Exact solutions to the general
relativistic Maxwell equations are obtained for a star formed of a highly
degenerate plasma with a gravitational field given by the linearized Kerr
metric. These solutions are used to formulate and then to study numerically the
equations of motion for a charged particle in star's vicinity using the
gravitoelectromagnetic force law. The analysis shows that close to the star
charge accretion does not always remain ordered. It is found that the magnetic
field plays the dominant role in the onset of chaos near the star's surface.Comment: 9 pages, 4 figure

The coordinate transformation which maps the Kerr metric written in standard
Boyer-Lindquist coordinates to its corresponding form adapted to the natural
local coordinates of an observer at rest at a fixed position in the equatorial
plane, i.e., Fermi coordinates for the neighborhood of a static observer world
line, is derived and discussed in a way which extends to any uniformly

We study the behavior of nonzero rest mass spinning test particles moving
along circular orbits in the Schwarzschild spacetime in the case in which the
components of the spin tensor are allowed to vary along the orbit, generalizing

A new proof of the Bianchi type IX attractor theorem
We consider the dynamics towards the initial singularity of Bianchi type IX
vacuum and orthogonal perfect fluid models with a linear equation of state. The
`Bianchi type IX attractor theorem' states that the past asymptotic behavior of
generic type IX solutions is governed by Bianchi type I and II vacuum states
(Mixmaster attractor). We give a comparatively short and self-contained new
proof of this theorem. The proof we give is interesting in itself, but more
importantly it illustrates and emphasizes that type IX is special, and to some
extent misleading when one considers the broader context of generic models

Radiative corrections to W-boson hadroproduction: higher-order electroweak and supersymmetric effects
The high accuracy envisaged for future measurements of W-boson production at
hadron colliders has to be matched by precise theoretical predictions. We study
the impact of electroweak radiative corrections on W-boson production cross
sections and differential distributions at the Tevatron and at the LHC. In
particular, we include photon-induced processes, which contribute at O(alpha),
and leading radiative corrections beyond O(alpha) in the high-energy Sudakov
regime and from multi-photon final-state radiation. We furthermore present the
calculation of the complete supersymmetric next-to-leading-order electroweak
and QCD corrections to W-boson hadroproduction within the MSSM. The
supersymmetric corrections turn out to be negligible in the vicinity of the W
resonance in general, reaching the percent level only at high lepton transverse
momentum and for specific choices of the supersymmetric parameters.Comment: 30 pages, 10 figures, 2 new sections, including a comparison with

Integrability of anisotropic and homogeneous Universes in scalar-tensor theory of gravitation
In this paper, we develop a method based on the analysis of the Kovalewski
exponents to study the integrability of anisotropic and homogeneous Universes.
The formalism is developed in scalar-tensor gravity, the general relativistic
case appearing as a special case of this larger framework. Then, depending on
the rationality of the Kovalewski exponents, the different models, both in the
vacuum and in presence of a barotropic matter fluid, are classified, and their

Exact Hypersurface-Homogeneous Solutions in Cosmology and Astrophysics
A framework is introduced which explains the existence and similarities of
most exact solutions of the Einstein equations with a wide range of sources for
the class of hypersurface-homogeneous spacetimes which admit a Hamiltonian
formulation. This class includes the spatially homogeneous cosmological models
and the astrophysically interesting static spherically symmetric models as well
as the stationary cylindrically symmetric models. The framework involves
methods for finding and exploiting hidden symmetries and invariant submanifolds
of the Hamiltonian formulation of the field equations. It unifies, simplifies
and extends most known work on hypersurface-homogeneous exact solutions. It is
shown that the same framework is also relevant to gravitational theories with a
