In this paper, we explore the security and privacy issues of Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare applications for special needs users. IoT enables health-related organizations to lift important data from diverse sources in real-time and this helps in precise decision-making. The transformation of the health sector, required enhancement and efficiency of protective systems, thereby reducing data vulnerability and hence, providing opportunities for secure patient data, particularly, for special needs patients. A quantitative method for purposive sampling technique was adopted and eighty-eight respondents provided the process of how the IoT technology was utilised. Data findings indicated that IoT monitoring devices have the detective ability for a person with special needs living alone with problems related to vital signs of diseases or disabilities. Personal patient health records are integrated into the e-health Centre via IoT technologies. For data privacy, security, and confidentiality, patients' records are kept on Personal Health Record Systems (PHRS). The research revealed suspected breaches of information due to cyber-attacks on the probability of false data errors in the PHRS, leading to special needs personal data leakage

The purpose of this study was to determine the biochemical characteristics of coconut water during germination. The three cultivars most used worldwide were studied; West African Tall ‘WAT’, Malaysian Yellow Dwarf ‘MYD’ and improved ‘PB121+’ hybrid. Germinated ‘MYD’ and ‘PB121+’ had the greatest physical characteristic (water weight). As for the chemical parameters, the amounts of total sugar fluctuated from 25.60 mg/ml to 50.85 mg/ml while the amount of ashes and pH varied from 0.25% to 0.47% and 6.36 to 6.97 respectively. Coconut water from the ‘WAT’ and from the ‘PB121+’ hybrid which is richer in sugars and ashes is appropriate for vinegar making. It could be also used as an additive in food for children suffering from mineral deficiencies. Keywords: Biochemical parameter, cultivar, nut, hybri

Generalized Elitzur's Theorem and Dimensional Reduction

We extend Elitzur's theorem to systems with symmetries intermediate between global and local. In general, our theorem formalizes the idea of {\it dimensional reduction}. We apply the results of this generalization to many systems that are of current interest. These include liquid crystalline phases of Quantum Hall systems, orbital systems, geometrically frustrated spin lattices, Bose metals, and models of superconducting arrays.Comment: 10 pages, 1 figur

Superconductivity and Quantum Spin Disorder in Cuprates

A fundamental connection between superconductivity and quantum spin fluctuations in underdoped cuprates, is revealed. A variational calculation shows that {\em Cooper pair hopping} strongly reduces the local magnetization m0m_0. This effect pertains to recent neutron scattering and muon spin rotation measurements in which m0m_0 varies weakly with hole doping in the poorly conducting regime, but drops precipitously above the onset of superconductivity

The 1/N1/N Expansion and Spin Correlations in Constrained Wavefunctions

We develop a large-N expansion for Gutzwiller projected spin states. We consider valence bonds singlets, constructed by Schwinger bosons or fermions, which are variational ground states for quantum antiferromagnets. This expansion is simpler than the familiar expansions of the quantum Heisenberg model, and thus more instructive. The diagrammatic rules of this expansion allow us to prove certain identities to all orders in 1/N. We derive the on-site spin fluctuations sum rule for arbitrary N. We calculate the correlations of the one dimensional Valence Bonds Solid states and the Gutzwiller Projected Fermi Gas upto order 1/N. For the bosons case, we are surprised to find that the mean field, the order 1/N and the exact correlations are simply proportional. For the fermions case, the 1/N correction enhances the zone edge singularity. The comparison of our leading order terms to known results for N=2, enhances our understanding of large-N approximations in general.Comment: 36 pages, LaTe

Electron--Vibron Interactions and Berry Phases in Charged Buckminsterfullerene: Part I

A simple model for electron-vibron interactions on charged buckminsterfullerene C60n−_{60}^{n-}, n=1,…5n=1,\ldots 5, is solved both at weak and strong couplings. We consider a single HgH_g vibrational multiplet interacting with t1ut_{1u} electrons. At strong coupling the semiclassical dynamical Jahn-Teller theory is valid. The Jahn-Teller distortions are unimodal for nn=1,2,4,5 electrons, and bimodal for 3 electrons. The distortions are quantized as rigid body pseudo--rotators which are subject to geometrical Berry phases. These impose ground state degeneracies and dramatically change zero point energies. Exact diagonalization shows that the semiclassical level degeneracies and ordering survive well into the weak coupling regime. At weak coupling, we discover an enhancement factor of 5/25/2 for the pair binding energies over their classical values. This has potentially important implications for superconductivity in fullerides, and demonstrates the shortcoming of Migdal--Eliashberg theory for molecular crystals.Comment: 29 pages (+7 figures, 3 available upon request), LATEX, report-number: BM515
