    The Long Way Home (Travels and Wanderings in Croatian Movies in General, and in The Return, the Movie made by Antun Vrdoljak)

    This article gives a short review of the travels presented in Croatian movies from the sixties, until the beginning of this century.The movie called the return (1979), made by Antun Vrdoljak, is reviewed separately; this is the movie whose title carries the implicit journey, wandering, perhaps even escape. the author’s intention was to review the movie which was not an adaptation, in order to avoid the comparison between the movie and the original text, which, in that case, would be inevitable. Also, the author used this particular film as an example which shows that because of the motion in movies there is always travel involved

    Continuous Drip Flow System to Develop Biofilm of E. faecalis

    Purpose. To evaluate a structurally mature E. faecalis biofilm developed under anaerobic/dynamic conditions in an in vitro system. Methods. An experimental device was developed using a continuous drip flow system designed to develop biofilm under anaerobic conditions. The inoculum was replaced every 24 hours with a fresh growth medium for up to 10 days to feed the system. Gram staining was done every 24 hours to control the microorganism purity. Biofilms developed under the system were evaluated under the scanning electron microscope (SEM). Results. SEM micrographs demonstrated mushroom-shaped structures, corresponding to a mature E. faecalis biofilm. In the mature biofilm bacterial cells are totally encased in a polymeric extracellular matrix. Conclusions. The proposed in vitro system model provides an additional useful tool to study the biofilm concept in endodontic microbiology, allowing for a better understanding of persistent root canal infections

    Se investigó la “relación entre el acoso escolar y el autoconcepto en escolares de secundaria. La muestra estuvo integrada por 237 alumnos de cuarto y quinto grado de nivel secundaria de la I.E. N°7081 José María Arguedas de San Juan de Miraflores. La investigación tuvo un diseño no experimental de tipo correlacional. Para la medición de las variables se usaron el “Autotest de Cisneros de Acoso Escolar” y el “Cuestionario de Autoconcepto de Garley”. Se encontró una correlación inversa débil (rho = -0.237) y significativa (p< 0.01) entre el acoso escolar y el autoconcepto. De igual manera se encontró correlaciones inversas bajas y significativas entre acoso escolar y las dimensiones autoconcepto físico (r=-0.170**, p<0.01), aceptación social (r=-0.202**, p<0.01), autoconcepto intelectual (r=-0.210**, p<0.01), autoconcepto familiar, (r=-0.163**, p<0.01) sensación de control (r=-0.156**, p<0.01) y autoevaluación personal (r=-0.172**, p<0.01). Finalmente se concluye que a mayor nivel de acoso escolar, menor nivel de” autoconcepto y viceversa
