Frukto-oligoszacharidok kvantitatív analízise mesterséges neuronhálóval kiegészített spektroszkópiás módszerrel
Egyre növekvő igény figyelhető meg a prebiotikummal dúsított
élelmiszerek iránt. A frukto-oligoszacharidok
(FOS) prebiotikus hatású szénhidrát polimerek, melyek
előállítása ipari körülmények közt főként szacharózból,
enzimreakción keresztül történik. Az előállított termék
szénhidrát összetételének meghatározását jellemzően
laboratóriumi HPLC berendezések segítségével végzik, amelyek
nagy pontosságúak és robusztusak, azonban az
analízis időigénye jelentős. A komplex biológiai eljárás miatt,
szükség van egy olyan szénhidrát összetétel
meghatározó módszerre, amely ipari környezetben gyorsan, akár
valós időben szolgáltat információt a termék
alapszik. A neuronháló tanításához szükséges minta
adathalmazt enzimes membrán reaktor működtetésével generáltuk.
Mértük a minták szénhidrát összetételét és UV
spektrumát, majd az így nyert adathalmazból neurális hálózat
tanításán keresztül modellt építettünk. A modellt
ismeretlen minták segítségével validáltuk. Eredményeink alapján
a fejlesztett módszer sikeresen alkalmazható FOS
termelés on-line nyomon követésére.
There is a growing need for commercially available fructo-
oligosaccharides (FOS) to be used in food
products. FOS are produced via enzyme reactions, and thus
require strict supervision to stay productive. Currently,
saccharides determination is carried out by chromatographic
methods that are very accurate and reproducible, but also
convey considerable delay from sampling to acquiring the
results. Due to the use of complex biological procedures in
FOS production, a more rapid, possibly on-line method is needed
to trace the course of the enzyme reaction. The
development and evaluation of an artificial neural network
(ANN) assisted spectrophotometric method for FOS
determination was carried out in this work. Samples to be used
for training an ANN were generated through operating
an enzyme membrane reactor. Saccharides composition and UV
spectra of the generated samples were recorded, and
a two-layer feedforward neural network was designed in Matlab
environment to find and learn the relation between
saccharides composition and UV spectra. The trained network was
then validated by using new observations that were
not involved in the training. According to the results, the
proposed method has a great potential to be implemented as
an on-line monitoring tool in FOS production
Triangle percolation in mean field random graphs -- with PDE
We apply a PDE-based method to deduce the critical time and the size of the
giant component of the ``triangle percolation'' on the Erd\H{o}s-R\'enyi random
graph process investigated by Palla, Der\'enyi and VicsekComment: Summary of the changes made: We have changed a remark about k-clique
percolation in the first paragraph. Two new paragraphs are inserted after
equation (4.4) with two applications of the equation. We have changed the
names of some variables in our formula
Two-part set systems
The two part Sperner theorem of Katona and Kleitman states that if is an
-element set with partition , and \cF is a family of subsets
of such that no two sets A, B \in \cF satisfy (or ) and for some , then |\cF| \le {n
\choose \lfloor n/2 \rfloor}. We consider variations of this problem by
replacing the Sperner property with the intersection property and considering
families that satisfiy various combinations of these properties on one or both
parts , . Along the way, we prove the following new result which may
be of independent interest: let \cF, \cG be families of subsets of an
-element set such that \cF and \cG are both intersecting and
cross-Sperner, meaning that if A \in \cF and B \in \cG, then and . Then |\cF| +|\cG| < 2^{n-1} and there are
exponentially many examples showing that this bound is tight

| Following our research plan, we have mainly done research -- and established a number of significant results -- in several areas of set theory: I. Combinatorics II. Cardinal invariants of the continuum and ideal theory III. Set-theoretic topology In addition to these, G. Sági has done extended research in model theory that had ramifications to combinatorics. We presented our results in 38 publications, almost all of which appeared or will appear in the leading international journals of these fields (5 of these papers have been submitted but not accepted as yet). We also participated at a number of international conferences, three of us (Juhász, Sági, Soukup) as plenary and/or invited speakers at many of these
