The influence of the ethnic culture specifics on the organizational culture of the industrial enterprise
The article considers the relationship between ethnic and organizational culture. Economic globalization leads to the necessity of studying and taking into account cultural differences of various countries, which will allow companies to be successful in the global market. Specifics of the ethnic culture in their individual personal interpretation have a significant impact on the formation and development of the company organizational culture. Questionnaire survey on the values ranking, conducted by the authors at one of the industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation allowed determining how individual values and moral motivation of employees match the values of the company. Besides, the study conducted by the Hofstede method has helped to identify common values and principles that are typical for the studied company, and for the country as a whole. At the industrial enterprise the following culture parameters were examined: Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism, Power Distance, Term Orientation, Masculinity and they were compared with similar all-Russian data. The study showed close relationship between ethnic and organizational culture. This has led to the conclusion that the organizational culture management of industrial enterprise is based on personal and ethnical values and morals. The recommendations based on the results of the study were given for improving the enterprise culture, both on personal and organizational level.peer-reviewe
Ion Adsorption at Clay Mineral Surfaces: The Hofmeister Series for Hydrated Smectite Minerals
Many important properties of clay minerals are defined by the species of charge-balancing cation. Phenomena such as clay swelling and cation exchange depend on the cation species present, and understanding how the cations bind with the mineral surface at a fundamental level is important. In the present study the binding affinities of several different charge-balancing cations with the basal surface of the smectite mineral, montmorillonite, have been calculated using molecular dynamics in conjunction with the well-tempered metadynamics algorithm. The results follow a Hofmeister series of preferred ion adsorption to the smectite basal surfaces of the form: Embedded Image The results also revealed the energetically favorable position of the ions above the clay basal surfaces. Key features of the free-energy profiles are illustrated by Boltzmann population inversions and analyses of the water structures surrounding the ion and clay surface. The results show that weakly hydrated cations (K+ and Cs+) preferentially form inner-sphere surface complexes (ISSC) above the ditrigonal siloxane cavities of the clay, while the more strongly hydrated cations (Na+) are able to form ISSCs above the basal O atoms of the clay surface. The strongly hydrated cations (Na+, Ca2+, and Ba2+), however, preferentially form outer-sphere surface complexes. The results provide insight into the adsorption mechanisms of several ionic species on montmorillonite and are relevant to many phenomena thought to be affected by cation exchange, such as nuclear waste disposal, herbicide/pesticide–soil interactions, and enhanced oil recovery
Methodological Approaches for Assessing the Link between Supply Chain and Organizational Culture
Abstract— The aim of this paper is to expand the knowledge of buyer-supplier relationships by investigating the extent to which organisational cultural fit between a buyer and supply chain participants influences performance. Findings demonstrate that complementarity rather than congruence between the supply chain partners achieved successful performance outcomes. Organisations in the high-performing supply chain had significantly different cultural profiles, reporting significant statistical differences across all six cultural dimensions. Organisations in the low-performing supply chain had almost identical profiles across all six cultural dimensions with significantly lower mean scores across each dimension. This article presents methodological approaches for assessing the organizational culture development of an educational institution. The research purpose is to study the feasibility and advisability of applying various methods to assess the level of the organizational culture development on supply chain management. Spectroscopy of Stellar-Like Objects Contained in the Second Byurakan Survey. I
The results of spectroscopic observations of 363 star-like objects from the
Second Byurakan Survey (SBS) are reported. This SBS's subsample has proven to
be a rich source of newly identified quasars, Seyfert type galaxies, degenerate
stars and hot subdwarfs. In the subsample here studied, we identified 35 new
QSOs, 142 White Dwarfs (WDs) the majority of which, 114 are of DA type, 55
subdwarfs (29 of which are sdB-type stars), 10 HBB, 16 NHB, 54 G-type and 25
F-type stars, two objects with composite spectra, four Cataclismic Variables
(CV), two peculiar emission line stars, 17 objects with continuous spectra, as
well as one planetary nebula. Among the 35 QSOs we have found two Broad
Absorption Line (BAL) QSOs, namely SBS 1423+500 and SBS 1435+500A. Magnitudes,
redshifts, and slit spectra for all QSOs, also some typical spectra of the
peculiar stars are presented. We estimate the minimum surface density of bright
QSOs in redshift range 0.3<z<2.2 to be 0.05 per sq. deg. for B<17.0 and 0.10

Spectral Observations of Faint Markarian Galaxies of the Second Byurakan Survey. II
We continue the program of spectroscopic observations of objects from the
Second Byurakan Survey (SBS). This survey contains more than 1300 galaxies and
1700 star-like objects with m(pg)<19.5. Our work is aimed towards the
construction of a complete sample of faint Markarian galaxies. Here, we present
spectroscopic data for 43 galaxies. Amongst them six new Seyfert galaxies are
found, namely two Sy 1 type (SBS 1343+544 and SBS 1433+500), one Sy 2 type (SBS
1620+545) and three likely Sy 2 type galaxies (SBS 1205+556, SBS 1344+527, SBS
1436+597). SBS 1343+544 falls into the luminosity gap between low-redshift QSOs
and high luminosity Sefert galaxies. In the sample studied here, another 36
emission-line galaxies were spectroscopically confirmed. Thus far, 102 SBS
galaxies brighter than m(pg)=17.5 have been observed with the Cananea 2.1m GHO
telescope. The apparent magnitude and redshift distributions, the spectral
classification, the relative intensities of emission lines, and other

Molecular Dynamic Simulations of Montmorillonite–Organic Interactions under Varying Salinity: An Insight into Enhanced Oil Recovery
Wetting Effects and Molecular Adsorption at Hydrated Kaolinite Clay Mineral Surfaces
In this study, classical molecular dynamics simulations have been used to understand the key interactions and surface structure of a set of organic molecules at the hydrated surfaces of the 1:1 clay mineral kaolinite. Decane, decanoic acid, and decanamine have been modeled at both the hydroxylated and silicate surfaces of kaolinite. Additionally, the effect of pH is observed via looking at the protonated decanamine and decanoate anion forms. The key results show that relative affinity of the organic molecules to the kaolinite surface may be readily switched between the hydroxylated and the silicate surfaces according to the pH and the nature of the organic head functional group. Decane molecules readily form droplets atop the silicate surface and do not adsorb to the hydroxyl surface, as do protonated decanoic acids. In stark contrast, decanoate anions do not adsorb to the silicate surface, yet adsorb to the hydroxyl surface through an anion exchange mechanism. Decanamine readily adsorbs to both silicate and hydroxyl surfaces, though the hydroxyl–amine interactions are mediated through water bridges. Once charged, the decanamine remains adsorbed to both surfaces, however, both interactions are ionically mediated, rather than through van der Waals and hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, protonated decanamine is observed to adsorb to the hydroxyl surface via anion bridges, a phenomenon that is typically associated with positively charged layered double hydroxides rather than negatively charged clay minerals
Easy creation of polymeric systems for molecular dynamics with Assemble!
We present Assemble!, a program greatly simplifying the preparation of molecular dynamics simulations of polymeric systems. The program is controlled either via command line or an intuitive Graphical User Interface, and runs on all major operating systems. Assemble! allows the creation of a desired system of polymer chains from constituent monomers, packs the chains into a box according to the required concentration and returns all the files needed for simulation with Gromacs. We illustrate the capabilities of Assemble! by demonstrating the easy preparation of a 300 monomers-long polyisoprene in hexane, and a heterogeneous mixture of polybutadiene.</p
