    La satisfacció dels clients dels centres esportius municipals de Barcelona

    L’objectiu d’aquest treball és identificar i analitzar les variables que més influeixen en la satisfacció del client als centres esportius de Barcelona. Les dades van ser recollides en una enquesta entre els clients actuals de centres esportius municipals. Una anàlisi factorial aplicada a aquesta informació revela cinc dimensions que subjeuen als múltiples components de l’oferta de serveis en aquestes instal·lacions: la seva qualitat, els recursos humans, la comunicació, l’entorn social i la relació qualitat-preu. Les variables generades van ser incorporades a un model de regressió múltiple en què la variable dependent va ser la satisfacció del client. D’acord amb els resultats les dones i els usuaris majors de 60 anys valoren més positivament el servei rebut, mentre que a major nivell d’estudis, més exigents són els clients. Finalment, un gerent ha de prestar atenció en primer lloc a la qualitat de les instal·lacions seguit de la comunicació, els recursos humans, la relació qualitat preu i l’entorn social, per aquest ordre

    El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar y analizar las variables que más influyen en la satisfacción del cliente en los centros deportivos de Barcelona. Los datos fueron recogidos en una encuesta entre los clientes actuales de centros deportivos municipales. Un análisis factorial aplicado a esta información revela cinco dimensiones que subyacen a los múltiples componentes de la oferta de servicios en dichas instalaciones: su calidad, los recursos humanos, la comunicación, el entorno social y la relación calidad-precio. Las variables generadas fueron incorporadas a un modelo de regresión múltiple en el que la variable dependiente fue la satisfacción del cliente. De acuerdo con los resultados las mujeres y los usuarios mayores de 60 años valoran más positivamente el servicio recibido, mientras que a mayor nivel de estudios, más exigentes son los clientes.     Taxonomic diversity of benthic macroinvertebrates along the Oum Er Rbia River (Morocco): implications for water quality bio-monitoring using indicator species

    The macroinvertebrates of the Oum Er Rbia River were studied from samples collected seasonally from September 2015 to September 2016 at 10 sampling sites. The macroinvertebrates found during the sampling period were distributed into twelve orders. The most abundant order was diptera, having 9618 individuals, followed by the order Ephemeroptera with 2985 individuals. Coleoptera, odonates and crustaceans represent only a small fraction of the total fauna. Hydropsyche, Chironomidae sp. and Simuliidae are numerically more inventoried. The composition and distribution of the species were directly or indirectly affected by the physicochemical variables and the quality of the habitat. Correspondence analysis results showed that habitat quality and quality of water represented species distribution patterns and species can be used as indicators to assess the quality of the Oum Er Rbia River system. Habitat management along the Oum Er Rbia river should be aimed at preserving native species, especially during the summer, when the biotope requirements are optimal. The results obtained in this study showed an alarming situation of the water quality of the Oum Er Rbia River and particularly in downstream segment. To solve this problem, we recommend the development of the wastewater discharge of Khenifra and Kasba Tadla and the purification of wastewater before it is discharged into the river

    The Impact of \u3ci\u3emsaABCR\u3c/i\u3e On \u3ci\u3esarA\u3c/i\u3e-Associated Phenotypes is Different in Divergent Clinical Isolates of \u3ci\u3eStaphylococcus aureus\u3c/i\u3e

    The staphylococcal accessory regulator (sarA) plays an important role in Staphylococcus aureus infections including osteomyelitis, and the msaABCR operon has been implicated as an important factor in modulating expression of sarA. Thus, we investigated the contribution of msaABCR to sarA-associated phenotypes in the S. aureus clinical isolates LAC and UAMS-1. Mutation of msaABCR resulted in reduced production of SarA and a reduced capacity to form a biofilm in both strains. Biofilm formation was enhanced in a LAC msa mutant by restoring the production of SarA, but this was not true in a UAMS-1 msa mutant. Similarly, extracellular protease production was increased in a LAC msa mutant but not a UAMS-1 msa mutant. This difference was reflected in the accumulation and distribution of secreted virulence factors and in the impact of extracellular proteases on biofilm formation in a LAC msa mutant. Most importantly, it was reflected in the relative impact of mutating msa as assessed in a murine osteomyelitis model, which had a significant impact in LAC but not in UAMS-1. In contrast, mutation of sarA had a greater impact on all of these in vitro and in vivo phenotypes by comparison to mutation of msaABCR, and it did so in both LAC and UAMS-1. These results suggest that, at least in osteomyelitis, it would be therapeutically preferable to target sarA rather than msaABCR to achieve the desired clinical result, particularly in the context of divergent clinical isolates of S. aureus

    Gac two-component system in Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci is required for virulence but not for hypersensitive reaction

    Pseudomonas syringae pv. tabaci 6605 causes wildfire disease on host tobacco plants. To investigate the regulatory mechanism of the expression of virulence, Gac two-Component system-defective mutants, Delta gacA and Delta gacS, and a double mutant, Delta gacA Delta gacS, were generated. These mutants produced smaller amounts of N-acyl homoserine lactones required for quorum sensing, had lost swarming motility, and had reduced expression of virulence-related hrp genes and the algT gene required for exopolysaccharide production. The ability of the mutants to cause disease symptoms in their host tobacco plant was remarkably reduced, while they retained the ability to induce hypersensitive reaction (HR) in the nonhost plants. These results indicated that the Gac two-component system of P. syringae pv. tabaci 6605 is indispensable for virulence on the host plant, but not for HR induction in the nonhost plants.</p

    Alterations in the transcriptome and antibiotic susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus grown in the presence of diclofenac

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which has been shown to increase the susceptibility of various bacteria to antimicrobials and demonstrated to have broad antimicrobial activity. This study describes transcriptome alterations in <it>S. aureus </it>strain COL grown with diclofenac and characterizes the effects of this NSAID on antibiotic susceptibility in laboratory, clinical and diclofenac reduced-susceptibility (Dc<sup>RS</sup>) <it>S. aureus </it>strains.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Transcriptional alterations in response to growth with diclofenac were measured using <it>S. aureus </it>gene expression microarrays and quantitative real-time PCR. Antimicrobial susceptibility was determined by agar diffusion MICs and gradient plate analysis. Ciprofloxacin accumulation was measured by fluorescence spectrophotometry.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Growth of <it>S. aureus </it>strain COL with 80 μg/ml (0.2 × MIC) of diclofenac resulted in the significant alteration by ≥2-fold of 458 genes. These represented genes encoding proteins for transport and binding, protein and DNA synthesis, and the cell envelope. Notable alterations included the strong down-regulation of antimicrobial efflux pumps including <it>mepRAB </it>and a putative <it>emrAB/qacA</it>-family pump. Diclofenac up-regulated <it>sigB </it>(σ<sup>B</sup>), encoding an alternative sigma factor which has been shown to be important for antimicrobial resistance. <it>Staphylococcus aureus </it>microarray metadatabase (SAMMD) analysis further revealed that 46% of genes differentially-expressed with diclofenac are also σ<sup>B</sup>-regulated. Diclofenac altered <it>S. aureus </it>susceptibility to multiple antibiotics in a strain-dependent manner. Susceptibility increased for ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin and norfloxacin, decreased for oxacillin and vancomycin, and did not change for tetracycline or chloramphenicol. Mutation to Dc<sup>RS </sup>did not affect susceptibility to the above antibiotics. Reduced ciprofloxacin MICs with diclofenac in strain BB255, were not associated with increased drug accumulation.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>The results of this study suggest that diclofenac influences antibiotic susceptibility in <it>S. aureus</it>, in part, by altering the expression of regulatory and structural genes associated with cell wall biosynthesis/turnover and transport.</p

    Quail Genomics: a knowledgebase for Northern bobwhite

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The Quail Genomics knowledgebase (<url>http://www.quailgenomics.info</url>) has been initiated to share and develop functional genomic data for Northern bobwhite (<it>Colinus virginianus</it>). This web-based platform has been designed to allow researchers to perform analysis and curate genomic information for this non-model species that has little supporting information in GenBank.</p> <p>Description</p> <p>A multi-tissue, normalized cDNA library generated for Northern bobwhite was sequenced using 454 Life Sciences next generation sequencing. The Quail Genomics knowledgebase represents the 478,142 raw ESTs generated from the sequencing effort in addition to assembled nucleotide and protein sequences including 21,980 unigenes annotated with meta-data. A normalized MySQL relational database was established to provide comprehensive search parameters where meta-data can be retrieved using functional and structural information annotation such as gene name, pathways and protein domain. Additionally, blast hit cutoff levels and microarray expression data are available for batch searches. A Gene Ontology (GO) browser from Amigo is locally hosted providing 8,825 unigenes that are putative orthologs to chicken genes. In an effort to address over abundance of Northern bobwhite unigenes (71,384) caused by non-overlapping contigs and singletons, we have built a pipeline that generates scaffolds/supercontigs by aligning partial sequence fragments against the indexed protein database of chicken to build longer sequences that can be visualized in a web browser. </p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Our effort provides a central repository for storage and a platform for functional interrogation of the Northern bobwhite sequences providing comprehensive GO annotations, meta-data and a scaffold building pipeline. The Quail Genomics knowledgebase will be integrated with Japanese quail (<it>Coturnix coturnix</it>) data in future builds and incorporate a broader platform for these avian species. </p
