Criminal Liabilities of Boko Haram in Nigeria

One major problem that has posed a great threat to the Nigerian Nation is Boko Haram or rather the Boko Haram militant group. What this paper intends to do is to analyze the criminal liabilities of the Boko Haram militant group in Nigeria in both domestic and international law. I see this paper primarily as timely because a lot has been said about Boko Haram, in Nigeria, but yet there is much we still do not know about Boko Haram, its criminal liabilities, origin structure, size and method of operation still remains a mirage and a mystery. This dissertation will start with an introduction of the term Boko Haram and the various definitions of terrorism. The subsequent chapter will in detail attempt the Impact of the Boko Haram insurgency as a threat to national security--This chapter would be more of revelations surrounding the Boko Haramites conflict, and its inclinations towards terrorism. Chapter three intends to look at the fascination towards Boko Haram, while chapter five would discuss the Applicable International and Domestic laws against Boko Haram. At the conclusion in chapter six, suggestions and recommendations will be made on how to eradicate the Boko Haram terrorist group as well as enforcing actions against the Boko Haramites to determine their criminal liability or rather their culpability. This dissertation would remain relevant going by the fact that the stability of the Nigerian Nation has been affected drastically by the Boko Haram conflict and I am confident that this work of mine could be a source of inspiration for those in authority as well as policy makers to adequately tackle this horrific crime

Curbing Cultism in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria: The Need for Moral Education

The menace of cultism is one whose roots and dimensions are much deeper than the observed external occurrences such as initiation ceremonies and clashes. The root may be traceable to values, attitudes, habits and practices emanating from the hangover of discontentment with colonial aberration in preindependent Nigeria and the precipitated riots and murders occasioned by the Nigerian civil war. Today, it dangles like the Sword of Damocles over our tertiary institutions and by extension the education sphere. Some members of these groups who are said to have been involved on account of peer group influence and social, psychological and other reasons possibly began from primary and secondary schools, that by the time they get to the tertiary institutions, jungle don mature, as is popularly said in the Nigerian parlance. Consequent upon this, Nigeria appears to be at the cross roads of socio-economic development and moral flux. It is worthy to note that succeeding governments, groups and individuals have expressed and demonstrated concern towards eradicating this ugly incidence. This is the issue which this paper addresses, covering its origin, typology and terminology, causes and effects, etc. It is contented that moral education is a veritable tool and occupies a pre-eminent position in curbing cultism in tertiary institutions in Nigeria, nothing that its ultimate aim is the bringing forth of a morally sound and mature person and personality cum society

El conocimiento del uso de recursos alimenticios por peces puede ofrecer información sobre uso de hábitat, disponibilidad de alimento e incluso algunos aspectos del comportamiento (Hahn et al. 2004). Windell & Bowen (1978) sostienen que los estudios de contenido estomacal, brindan la base para el entendimiento del rol ecológico que juegan los peces. La ecología trófica de una especie es, en primera instancia, el fruto de muchos años de evolución reflejados en las estructuras morfológicas relacionadas a esa función, pudiendo o no determinar plasticidad alimentaria de los peces en relación con la disponibilidad de recursos (Lowe-McConnell, 1987; Albrecht & Caramaschi, 2003). La elección de una determinada presa dependerá de un conjunto de factores, tales como tipo, tamaño y abundancia de la presa, riesgo de depredación, competición entre otros (Gerking, 1994). Muchos de estos aspectos son desconocidos en la literatura científica para la gran mayoría de las especies de peces continentales del Perú. Comunicación efectiva y procesos administrativos en la empresa Servicios Pesqueros Dismar S.A.C. Sechura 2021

El objetivo general de la presente investigación fue determinar la relación entre comunicación efectiva y los procesos administrativos de la empresa Servicios Pesqueros Dismar SAC., Sechura 2021. Se estableció una investigación de tipo aplicada, según su horizonte de tipo explicativo y descriptivo, el enfoque fue cuantitativo, el diseño fue no experimental de temporalidad transversal. La población, muestra y muestreo estuvo constituido por 52 trabajadores administrativos. Se utilizó como técnica la encuesta y como instrumento el cuestionario. Los resultados muestran que la comunicación efectiva y los procesos administrativos presentan dificultades al encontrarse en un nivel bajo con un 73%. Así mismo se determinó que el vínculo (rP = ,726; sig. = 0,000), la efectividad (rP = ,801; sig. = 0,000), el orgullo (rP = ,768; sig. = 0,000) y la identidad (rP = ,726; sig. = 0,000) influyen significativamente en los procesos administrativos, los resultados también muestran una relación muy alta con una sig. de ,000 y una correlación de Pearson de ,850 entre comunicación efectiva y los procesos administrativos. Climatology of Satellite-Derived Mesoscale Convective Systems over West Africa

This work studied the climatology of Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCSs) over West Africa. Infrared brightness temperature (BT) data was collected from Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) website over the rainy season period for ten years (2006 - 2015) from 1st of June to 30th of September. The study area covers West Africa from 5ºS to 25ºN and 20ºE to 20ºW, it was divided to 5o X 5o boxes. The T-R criteria used to detect the minimum size of MCSs was a diameter of 200 km or more and a BT of 233 K (-40 ºC) or less. All the MCSs were tracked for the months of June, July, August and September and compared the wettest (2014) and the driest (2009) years as observed from the ten years annual rainfall data collected from the archives of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET). The results indicated that for both the driest and wettest years, latitudinal row 5ºN - 10ºN is the most active zone favorable for the initiation, propagation and decay of MCSs over West Africa with 45% of MCSs found there in the month of June and row 10ºN - 15ºN as the next favorable zone (29-32% of MCSs). In the month of July, the active zone shifted to 10ºN - 15ºN while the next favorable zone also shifted to 5ºN - 10ºN, which was maintained and became more favorable through August and September. There were almost double the number of MCSs occurrence in the wettest year compared to driest year. During wettest year, MCSs were found out to be slower than their driest year counterpart. The results also gave a better insight of the behavioral patterns of West African MCSs, hence improving general forecasting method and reliability. Factores que determinan evasión tributaria en proveedores de Concha de Abanico de la empresa Pesquera Pacific Fiest S.C.R.L. Sechura, 2019

El objetivo general de la presente investigación fue analizar los factores que determinan la evasión tributaria en los proveedores de concha de abanico de la empresa Pesquera Pacific Fiest S.C.R.L. ubicada en la provincia de Sechura, año 2019. Para ello, se estableció una investigación de tipo aplicada, de tipo descriptiva y explicativa, de enfoque mixto, de diseño no experimental y de temporalidad transversal. La población estuvo constituida por todos los proveedores de concha de abanico, y la muestra por 75. Se utilizó como técnicas a la encuesta y entrevista. Los resultados muestran que las infracciones tributarias se calificaron en un nivel medio (62.7%), las formas de evasión tributaria se determinaron en un nivel alto (48%), la evasión voluntaria en un nivel muy alto (41.3%) y la evasión involuntaria en un nivel medio (37,3%). Se determinó que los factores socioculturales y políticos no influyen significativamente en la evasión tributaria; los factores técnicos y económicos sí influyen significativamente en la evasión tributaria. Se concluye que los proveedores de la empresa estudiada un porcentaje bajo cumplen con la inscripción y la emisión de comprobantes de pago e incurren en evasión tributaria de manera voluntaria que se explica principalmente por factores técnicos y económicos

Gestión de inventario para mejorar la eficiencia en la reparación de contenedores vacíos refrigerados en un depósito de contenedores, Paita 2023

El objetivo principal de esta investigación fue mejorar la eficiencia en la reparación de contenedores vacíos refrigerados mediante una correcta gestión de inventarios en un depósito de contenedores, Paita 2023; el tipo de investigación fue de tipo aplicada, debido a que tuvo por objetivo resolver un planteamiento específico y dar solución a un determinado problema y de enfoque cuantitativo porque se utilizó la recopilación y estudio de datos para responder preguntas de investigación y probar las hipótesis planteadas. Como población fue conformada por los materiales del almacén teniendo como criterio de inclusión aquellos materiales que estuviesen dentro de la técnica de clasificación ABC y excluyendo aquellos que no presentarán una demanda constante en los periodos analizados para determinar la proyección de requerimiento de materiales. La data recolectada fue procesada y analizada utilizando el software SPSS y Microsoft Excel para el análisis de los datos a través de tablas dinámicas y gráficos, finalmente se logró determinar con la gestión de inventarios la disminución en el tiempo promedio para la reparación de contendores vacíos a un periodo de 16 a 12 días, así mismo la calidad de atención en almacén aumentó del 26.4% al 87.7%

Plan de marketing digital para el incremento de las ventas en Insumos Agroindustriales Del Norte SAC, PIURA 2022

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo principal la elaboración y aplicación de un plan de marketing digital para Insumos Agroindustriales del Norte SAC ubicado en la ciudad de Piura en el año 2022, orientado a incrementar las ventas. . La investigación fue de tipo aplicada, pre experimental, de corte longitudinal. Se utilizó el muestreo probabilístico simple y como muestra se consideró a 117 clientes industriales ; como técnica de recopilación de datos se utilizó la encuesta, la entrevista y el análisis documental de ventas con sus respectivos instrumentos. Los resultados más relevantes fueron; que existe una diferencia significativa en el nivel de ventas de la empresa Insumos Agroindustriales Del Norte S.A.C.: de un promedio de S/29,000 de mayo a diciembre de 2021, seguido de la aplicación del plan de marketing digital aumentando a un promedio de S/88,000 en el mismo mes de 2022, un incremento equivalente a 201.97 %. Esto indica que se acepta la hipótesis de investigación. Finalmente, se concluye que se logró incrementar de manera favorable el volumen de ventas con respecto al año 2022.The main objective of this work is the development and application of a digital marketing plan for Insumos Agroindustriales del Norte SAC located in the city of Piura in the year 2022, aimed at increasing sales. .
