    Emergent Universe in Brane World Scenario with Schwarzschild-de Sitter Bulk

    A model of an emergent universe is obtained in brane world. Here the bulk energy is in the form of cosmological constant, while the brane consists of a fluid satisfying an equation of state of the form pb=1/3ρbp_{b}={1/3} \rho_{b}, which is effectively a radiation equation of state at high energies.     In this work, we have examined the emergent scenario in brane world model for phantom and tachyonic matter. For tachyonic matter field we have obtained emergent scenario is possible for closed, open and at model of the universe with some restriction of potential. For normal scalar field the emergent scenario is possible only for closed model and the result is identical with the work of Ellis et al [2], but for phantom field the emergent scenario is possible for closed, open and at model of the universe with some restriction of potential

    A tentative derivation of the main cosmological parameters

    Based on the assumption that some apparent properties of the observable universe are accurate at a reasonable level of approximation, a tentative is made to independently derive the values of the baryon density parameter, the Hubble constant, the cosmic microwave background temperature and the helium mass fraction.     Implications of Space-Time foam for Entanglement Correlations of Neutral Kaons

    The role of CPTCPT invariance and consequences for bipartite entanglement of neutral (K) mesons are discussed. A relaxation of CPTCPT leads to a modification of the entanglement which is known as the ω\omega effect. The relaxation of assumptions required to prove the CPTCPT theorem are examined within the context of models of space-time foam. It is shown that the evasion of the EPR type entanglement implied by CPTCPT (which is connected with spin statistics) is rather elusive. Relaxation of locality (through non-commutative geometry) or the introduction of decoherence by themselves do not lead to a destruction of the entanglement. So far we find only one model which is based on non-critical strings and D-particle capture and recoil that leads to a stochastic contribution to the space-time metric and consequent change in the neutral meson bipartite entanglement. The lack of an omega effect is demonstrated for a class of models based on thermal like baths which are generally considered as generic models of decoherence

    Constraining the nuclear gluon distribution in eAeA processes at RHIC

    A systematic determination of the gluon distribution is of fundamental interest in understanding the parton structure of nuclei and the QCD dynamics. Currently, the behavior of this distribution at small xx (high energy) is completely undefined. In this paper we analyze the possibility of constraining the nuclear effects present in xgAxg^A using the inclusive observables which would be measured in the future electron-nucleus collider at RHIC. We demonstrate that the study of nuclear longitudinal and charm structure functions allows to estimate the magnitude of shadowing and antishadowing effects in the nuclear gluon distribution.Comment: 6 pages, 3 eps figure

    Magnetized cosmological perturbations

    A large-scale cosmic magnetic field affects not only the growth of density perturbations, but also rotational instabilities and anisotropic deformation in the density distribution. We give a fully relativistic treatment of all these effects, incorporating the magneto-curvature coupling that arises in a relativistic approach. We show that this coupling produces a small enhancement of the growing mode on superhorizon scales. The magnetic field generates new nonadiabatic constant and decaying modes, as well as nonadiabatic corrections to the standard growing and decaying modes. Magnetized isocurvature perturbations are purely decaying on superhorizon scales. On subhorizon scales before recombination, magnetized density perturbations propagate as magneto-sonic waves, leading to a small decrease in the spacing of acoustic peaks. Fluctuations in the field direction induce scale-dependent vorticity, and generate precession in the rotational vector. On small scales, magnetized density vortices propagate as Alfv\'{e}n waves during the radiation era. After recombination, they decay slower than non-magnetized vortices. Magnetic fluctuations are also an active source of anisotropic distortion in the density distribution.     Evolution of density perturbations in a realistic universe

    Prompted by the recent more precise determination of the basic cosmological parameters and growing evidence that the matter-energy content of the universe is now dominated by dark energy and dark matter we present the general solution of the equation that describes the evolution of density perturbations in the linear approximation. It turns out that as in the standard CDM model the density perturbations grow very slowly during the radiation dominated epoch and their amplitude increases by a factor of about 4000 in the matter and later dark energy dominated epoch of expansion of the universe.Comment: 19 pages, 4 figure

    Management of visual clutter in annotated 3D CAD models: A comparative study

    The use of annotations in CAD models has been an active area of research because of their ability to connect design information to specific aspects of the model s geometry. The effectiveness of annotations is determined by the ability to clearly communicate information. However, annotations can quickly create clutter and confusion as they increase both in number and complexity. Consequently, efficient interaction and visualization mechanisms become crucial. Despite recent standardizations of procedures for the presentation of textual information in CAD models, no explicit guidelines are available as to how to make annotated models more readable and manageable. In this paper, we present the results of a comparative study of different mechanisms to manage visual clutter in annotated 3D CAD models and offer recommendations based on our findings.     The acceleration of the universe and the physics behind it

    Using a general classification of dark enegy models in four classes, we discuss the complementarity of cosmological observations to tackle down the physics beyond the acceleration of our universe. We discuss the tests distinguishing the four classes and then focus on the dynamics of the perturbations in the Newtonian regime.
