Microstructural features of failure surfaces and low-temperature mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V ELI ultra-fine grained alloy
Microstructural regularities of failure surfaces and low-temperature mechanical characteristics in quasistatic uniaxial tension and compression have been studied for ultra-fine grained structural states of Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy processed by equal channel angular pressing. Values of the yield stress and uniform strain at 300, 77, and 4.2 K have been compared for structural states of the Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy that differ in the average grain size and the morphology of α and β phases. Statistical distributions of dimple sizes on the failure surfaces have been studied for different structural states and temperatures.
Comparison of macroscopic mechanical properties and shear band characteristics established by acoustic emission measurements in Fe85-xCoxB15 amorphous alloys ribbons
A complex statistical and spectral analysis of acoustic emission during tensile deformation of the Fe85-xCoxB15 (x = 19, 21, 30, 40, 50) metallic glasses is performed aiming at clarification of the effect of topological order on inhomogeneous plastic flow and shear resistance. A correlation is established between the critical shear stress for the catastrophic shear bands and quantitative characteristics of acoustic emission pulses, corresponding to local shear bands. This correlation is understandable within the framework of existing in the literature polycluster model of amorphous solids, which considers some suitable intercluster boundaries as main regions for nucleation and spreading of plastic shears

Thermally activated deformation of nanocrystalline and coarse grained CoCrFeNiMn high entropy alloy in the temperature range 4.2–350 K
Mechanical properties of a nanocrystalline (~ 60 nm) and a coarse grained (grain sizes ~ 4 µm) CoCrFeNiMn
high entropy alloys were studied in uniaxial compression in the temperature range 4.2–350 K. Temperature dependences of yield strength, flow stress and strain rate sensitivity have been registered and analyzed in the framework of
two thermal activation deformation models, that of thermal activation of local barrier overcoming, and that of
Peierls valley double kink formation. Microscopic parameters of dislocation interaction with the barriers for thermally activated motion are estimated and low temperature deformation mechanisms are discussed.

Influence of short-range atomic order on mechanical properties of metallic glasses Fe80-XNiXB20
Variation of the chemical composition of Fe80-xNixB20 metallic glasses causes changes of the short-range atomic order and of some thermodynamic characteristics leading to nonmonotonic change of the ductile shear fracture normal stress σf under tension at 300 and 77 K. σf is maximal at xEQ30 and minimal at xEQ40. For strain rates 10-6-10-3 s-1 at 300 and 77 K an anomalous strain rate sensitivity of σf is observed. This evidences the existence of a spectrum of local shear nucleation barriers corresponding to the set of short-range order states for each composition studied
