O princípio da publicidade e os desafios aos direitos do réu no processo civil na contextura do contraterrorismo: um paralelo entre a situação brasileira e a do Reino Unido

O presente trabalho pretende analisar o Ato de Justiça e Segurança (2013), do Reino Unido, considerando as limitações feitas ao princípio da publicidade no contexto das medidas de contraterrorismo, traçando um paralelo com a experiência brasileira. Objetiva-se identificar se o país, ao adotar essa lei que estende aos procedimentos civis as doutrinas de Procedimento Material Fechado e de Advogados Especiais, ainda cumpre suas obrigações internacionais de direitos humanos. Isso será compreendido frente à especificidade da experiência britânica com o terrorismo. Effective Hadron Dynamics: From Meson Masses to the Proton Spin Puzzle

We construct a three flavor chiral Lagrangian of pseudoscalars and vectors with special emphasis on the symmetry breaking terms. Comparing tree level two and three point functions with experiment allows us to first, fix the parameters of the model (including the light quark mass ratios) and second, to predict $m(K^{*+})-m(K^{*\circ}),\, \Gamma(K^*\rightarrow K\pi)$ and $\Gamma(\phi\rightarrow K {\overline K})$. The last mentioned quantities come out reasonably well, in contrast to an ``ordinary" $SU(3)$ treatment. For this purpose we need ``second order" symmetry breakers involving the vector fields analogous to those needed for the chiral perturbation theory program with only pseudoscalars. An improved description of the $\eta-\eta^\prime$ system is also given. We then use the soliton sector of this improved chiral Lagrangian to investigate some aspects of baryon physics which are especially sensitive to symmetry breaking. For this purpose a fairly elaborate ``cranking" techinque is employed in connection with the collective Hamiltonian. In addition to the ``strong" baryon mass spectrum a careful investigation is made of the non-electromagnetic part of the neutron-proton mass difference. This work is needed to improve our previous estimates concerning the two component approach to the ``proton spin" puzzle. We find that both the ``matter" and ``glue" contributions are small but they do tend to cancel each other.Comment: 33 pages, LaTe

Incidência da mancha de Phoma em cafeeiro irrigado por gotejamento, sob diferentes manejos de água

The knowledge that the disposition of the crop and the irrigation management affect the microclimatic conditions is of importance for the sampling and quantification of diseases, assisting in the achievement of a better management of the crop. This work aimed at evaluating the influence of drip irrigation management in the incidence of phoma leaf blight (Phoma tarda (R.W. Stewart) H. Verm.) on coffee trees, regarding the northern and southern exposed sides of the plants. The disease was evaluated between the years 2009 and 2011, on Acaiá coffee tree, planted in lesser distance between plants. A completely randomized block design was used, in a factorial scheme (5 irrigation managements x 2 exposure sides x 12 evaluation months) and 4 replicates, matching the treatment to the irrigation of the coffee trees in different conditions of water availability in the soil. The treatments non irrigated and irrigated throughout the whole year every time the availability factor of water was at most 0,75. The area under the disease progress curve, submitted to variance analysis for the qualitative analysis. In 2010/2011 the incidence of the disease was larger than in the first year. Larger incidences of the disease occurred in managements A and B. Plants that undergo a larger water stress become susceptible to infection by the pathogen. Interactions occurred between the time of the year with the exposure sides in the intensity of the disease, in which the disease occurred more intensely in the southern side in the first year and more intensely in the northern side in the second year. The largest progress of the disease occurs from April to August, during drier times.O conhecimento que o sentido da lavoura em relação ao sol e a irrigação afetam as condições microclimáticas é de importância para a amostragem e a quantificação das doenças, auxiliando no melhor manejo da lavoura. Sendo assim, objetivou-se, nesse trabalho, avaliar a influência do manejo de irrigação por gotejamento na intensidade da mancha de Phoma do cafeeiro [(Phoma tarda (R.W. Stewart) H. Verm.)], quanto às faces norte e sul de exposição das plantas. Avaliou-se a doença, entre os anos 2009 a 2011, em cafeeiro ‘Acaiá’, semiadensado. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial (5 manejos de irrigação x 2 faces de exposição x 12 meses de avaliação) e 4 repetições, correspondendo o tratamento à irrigação do cafeeiro, em diferentes condições de disponibilidade de água no solo. Calculou-se a área abaixo da curva de progresso da doença (AACPD), submetida à análise de variância para a análise qualitativa. Verificou-se que, em 2010/2011, a intensidade da doença foi maior que no 1º ano. Os manejos sem irrigação e irrigação o ano todo, sempre que o fator de disponibilidade de água no solo (f) atinge 0,75 na camada de 0-40 cm, ocorrem maiores incidências da doença. Plantas que sofrem maior estresse hídrico ficam suscetíveis à infecção do patógeno. Ocorreram interações entre a época do ano com as faces de exposição na intensidade da doença. Na face sul, ocorreu maior intensidade da doença no 1º ano e na face norte maiores intensidade no 2º ano. O maior progresso da doença ocorreu de abril a agosto, em épocas de baixa pluviosidade

Putative Light Scalar Nonet

We investigate the "family" relationship of a possible scalar nonet composed of the a_0(980), the f_0(980) and the \sigma and \kappa type states found in recent treatments of \pi\pi and \pi K scattering. We work in the effective Lagrangian framework, starting from terms which yield "ideal mixing" according to Okubo's original formulation. It is noted that there is another solution corresponding to dual ideal mixing which agrees with Jaffe's picture of scalars as qq\bar q \bar q states rather than as q\bar q states. At the Lagrangian level there is no difference in the formulation of the two cases (other than the numerical values of the coefficients). In order to agree with experiment, additional mass and coupling terms which break ideal mixing are included. The resulting model turns out to be closer to dual ideal mixing than to conventional ideal mixing; the scalar mixing angle is roughly -17 degrees in a convention where dual ideal mixing is 0 degrees.Comment: 24 pages, 3 figure

Valuation of the anti-inflammatory activity of a new drug on the gastroduodenal and rectal mucosa

L'activité anti-inflammatoire d'une nouvelle molécule synthétique (2-phényl-4 p. chlorophényl - thiazol - 5 -ylacetic acid - Norvedan) a été testée sur la muqueuse gastro-duodénale et rectale par des examens endoscopiques. Les résultats sur une série de 56 patients ont été tout à fait satisfaisants. La tolérance de ce médicament est considérée comme excellente. Les examens fibroscopiques de contrôle n'ont précisé aucune anomalie muqueuse telle qu'on peut en voir après traitement anti-inflammatoire habituel (salicyclés...). Par ailleurs, ces examens ont montré l'effet anti-inflammatoire, l'activité anti-oedémateuse au niveau de la muqueuse gastrique
