Nonlinear polaritons in Bose-Einstein condensates in optical lattices
We study the interaction of a Bose-Einstein condensate in an optical lattice
with additional electromagnetic fields under Raman resonance condition. System
of evolution equations describing ultra-short optical pulse propagation and
photo-induced transport of cold atoms in optical lattice is derived. The steady
state solution of these equations was found. There are new kinds of polaritonic
solitary waves propagating.Comment: pdf-file, Reported on "IX International Readings on Quantum Optics",

Assessment of the reliability of the locomotive based on statistical methods of quality management
The lack of reliability of the diesel locomotive operation leads to a decrease in the technical and economic efficiency of using the locomotive service of the enterprise. During the experiment which aimed at assessing the reliability of repair and maintenance of a diesel locomotive in one of the railway divisions of OJSC "Russian Railways", it was found that the failures may be distributed by types of equipment, based on the failures for 12 months of 2017. Statistical quality management methods were used to identify the most problematic types of locomotive equipment and specific causes of failures. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd
High frequency polarization switching of a thin ferroelectric film
We consider both experimentally and analytically the transient oscillatory
process that arises when a rapid change in voltage is applied to a
ferroelectric thin film deposited on an substrate.
High frequency () polarization oscillations are observed
in the ferroelectric sample. These can be understood using a simple
field-polarization model. In particular we obtain analytic expressions for the
oscillation frequency and the decay time of the polarization fluctuation in
terms of the material parameters. These estimations agree well with the
experimental results
Electromagnetically induced switching of ferroelectric thin films
We analyze the interaction of an electromagnetic spike (one cycle) with a
thin layer of ferroelectric medium with two equilibrium states. The model is
the set of Maxwell equations coupled to the undamped Landau-Khalatnikov
equation, where we do not assume slowly varying envelopes. From linear
scattering theory, we show that low amplitude pulses can be completely
reflected by the medium. Large amplitude pulses can switch the ferroelectric.
Using numerical simulations and analysis, we study this switching for long and
short pulses, estimate the switching times and provide useful information for
experiments
PECULIAR FEATURES OF TEACHING HISTORY TO ECONOMIST STUDENTS IN RUSSIAN UNIVERSITIES
The purpose of the article: The article is aimed at studying of key issues of the set of methods and methodology of teaching history to students of the direction "Economics"; identifying of key aspects of the history course, competent understanding whereof is important for development of professional competencies of future economists, is of special attention.Materials and methods: The leading approach to the study of this problem is the analysis of key problem issues of the history course, a competent understanding of which is important for the formation of professional competencies of economists. Results of the research: The article shows that in the history of economics there are a lot of controversial, controversial issues on which quite superficial, subjective judgments and conclusions can occur in the journalistic, and sometimes academic literature. A number of similar questions are considered, the features of their study with students are revealed. The work identifies key aspects of the course of history, a competent understanding of which is important for the formation of professional competencies of future economists. The recommendations of the methodological and methodological plan for their study are proposed to increase the effectiveness of training future economists.
Applications: This research can be used for the universities, teachers, and students.
Novelty/Originality: In this research, the model of peculiar features of teaching history to economist students in Russian universities is presented in a comprehensive and complete manner
Information Countering to Terrorism and Extremism in Sverdlovsk Region: Historical Aspect
In recent decades, the world community has faced the growth of such negative phenomena as extremism and terrorism, phenomena that do not know any restrictions, neither economic, nor national, nor cultural, nor political. Society turned out to be unprepared for the spread of such a threat and did not immediately develop technologies to combat these phenomena. The article examines the problem of the spread of extremism in various spheres of society. The activity of extremist organizations (in such forms as nationalist, political, religious extremism) on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region is analyzed. Describes the measures of information countermeasures to extremism and terrorism through the creation of legislative and institutional conditions.
Commitment of Parents and Doctors of Irkutsk City to Vaccination against Tick-Borne Encephalitis
Today in Irkutsk region, we face a noticeable increase in the number of cases of ixodid tick sucking to urban residents. Ticks, found in the territory of Irkutsk city, were detected to have all currently known pathogens causing such serious diseases as tick-borne encephalitis, tick-borne borreliosis, monocytic ehrlichiosis, granulocytic anaplasmosis, rickettsiosis and tick-borne recurrent fever. These diseases may develop to severe forms, and lead to disability or even death. The aim of the study was to evaluate the opinion of parents and doctors on vaccination against tick-borne viral encephalitis in Irkutsk based on the data of an anonymous questionnaire survey.Material and methods. The descriptive retrospective epidemiological study was conducted between November 2018 and January 2019. It included 1620 parents and 193 doctors of various specialties in Irkutsk. Statistical processing of the material was carried out using Excel tables (Windows 2010) and the Statistica 6.0 program. Results and discussion. In general, the attitude towards vaccination looks positive – 98 % of the parents vaccinate their children. 11.3 % of parents vaccinate their children from tick-borne encephalitis, 23.3 % of doctors vaccinate themselves. Every fourth doctor vaccinates his child against this infection.Conclusion. Insufficient vaccination coverage against tick-borne encephalitis is noted both among the population and among doctors of Irkutsk. It is important to introduce health education for the population and to adopt new ways for improving the qualifications of doctors in immunization issues
