Particle-Antiparticle Mixing, epsilon_K, Delta Gamma_q, A_SL^q, A_CP(B_d -> psi K_S), A_CP(B_s -> psi phi) and B -> X_{s,d} gamma in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-Parity
We calculate a number of observables related to particle-antiparticle mixing
in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity (LHT). The resulting effective
Hamiltonian for Delta F=2 transitions agrees with the one of Hubisz et al., but
our phenomenological analysis goes far beyond the one of these authors. In
particular, we point out that the presence of mirror fermions with new flavour
and CP-violating interactions allows to remove the possible Standard Model (SM)
discrepancy between the CP asymmetry S_{psi K_S} and large values of |V_ub| and
to obtain for the mass difference Delta M_s < (Delta M_s)_SM as suggested by
the recent result by the CDF collaboration. We also identify a scenario in
which simultaneously significant enhancements of the CP asymmetries S_{phi psi}
and A_SL^q relative to the SM are possible, while satisfying all existing
constraints, in particular from the B -> X_s gamma decay and A_CP(B -> X_s
gamma) that are presented in the LHT model here for the first time. In another
scenario the second, non-SM, value for the angle gamma=-(109+-6) from tree
level decays, although unlikely, can be made consistent with all existing data
with the help of mirror fermions. We present a number of correlations between
the observables in question and study the implications of our results for the
mass spectrum and the weak mixing matrix of mirror fermions. In the most
interesting scenarios, the latter one turns out to have a hierarchical
structure that differs significantly from the CKM one.Comment: 51 pages, 20 figures, 1 table. Extended discussion of the phases in

Resonant decay of flat directions
We study preheating, i.e., non-perturbative resonant decay, of flat direction
fields, concentrating on MSSM flat directions and the right handed sneutrino.
The difference between inflaton preheating and flaton preheating, is that the
potential is more constraint in the latter case. The effects of a complex
driving field, quartic couplings in the potential, and the presence of a
thermal bath are important and cannot be neglected.
Preheating of MSSM flat directions is typically delayed due to out-of-phase
oscillations of the real and imaginary components and may be preceded by
perturbative decay or -ball formation. Particle production due to the
violation of adiabaticity is expected to be inefficient due to back reaction
effects. For a small initial sneutrino VEV, with
the mass of the right handed sneutrino and a yakawa coupling, there are
tachyonic instabilities. The -term quartic couplings do not generate an
effective mass for the tachyonic modes, making it an efficient decay channel.
It is unclear how thermal scattering affects the resonance.Comment: 20 pages, 4 figure
Women, sport and new media technologies:Derby grrrls online
Sport has long been viewed as a public ‘good’ — a space for the creation and enactment of the ‘good, healthy citizen’. Yet this public ‘good’ has also been gendered masculine: competitive, public and ‘tough’, with women’s participation historically marginal to men’s. In Australia in recent years, the participation of women and girls has fluctuated, with decline or stagnation in more traditional organised sports (netball, basketball) and growth in other areas, such as roller derby and football. However, women’s sports are still largely invisible in the popular sport media. In this chapter we focus on roller derby as one particular women’s sport that has undergone a global revival, mobilised through ‘new’ youth-oriented media forms. We examine four diverse websites that form part of the ‘social web’ of derby: two official league sites, a blog and a Facebook group. The reinvention of roller derby is intimately connected to the alternative mediated spaces made possible by the social web. Roller derby players and organisers have used online spaces for various ends: to promote the sport community, to make visible the relations of power between those involved, to create and maintain boundaries of inclusion and exclusion within the sport, and to express ‘creative’ aspects of identity. This chapter provides examples of the strategies and tactics used to establish and maintain roller derby as a ‘women’s only’ sport and some of the challenges and possibilities inherent in this highly mediated space.No Full Tex
Formation of accounting and analytical support for monitoring settlements with debtors and creditors
The correctness of settlements with debtors and creditors directly affects the financial stability of the enterprise, and this, respectively, on the development of the company and attracting new customers. The system of monitoring calculations is an ordered system of interacting, interrelated elements that allow you to create accounting and analytical support of business processes of a commercial organization through the collection, registration, synthesis, analysis of information and implementation of control actions in order to assess the risks of significant distortion. It was proposed to use the experience of methodological support of settlement operations in accordance with IFRS to monitor the accounts receivable of Russian enterprises in the field of housing and communal services. The interface of the module "Work with debtors" for the program 1C is offered, efficiency of introduction of this software is considered. Focusing on overdue accounts gives a more specific understanding of the financial situation, as the analysis takes a smaller amount of all receivables, this detailed disclosure will help users of financial statements, especially management to make the right management decisions

Prologue A Flat World, A Level Playing Field, a Small World After All, or None of the Above?
When the Journal of Economic Literature asked me to write a review of The World is Flat, by Thomas Friedman, I responded with enthusiasm, knowing it wouldn’t take much effort on my part. As soon as I received a copy of the book, I shipped it overnight by UPS to India to have the work done. I was promised a one-day turn-around for a fee of $100. Here is what I received by e-mail the next day: “This book is truly marvelous. It will surely change the course of human history. ” That struck me as possibly accurate but a bit too short and too generic to make the JEL happy, and I decided, with great disappointment, to do the work myself. What Might that “Flat World ” Metaphor Mean? Stumbling onto a book titled “The World is Flat ” by Thomas Friedman would leave a book browser puzzled about its likely content. My first guess would be epistemology and evolution. “The World is Flat ” must be a reference to the pre-Columbian sailor’s worry about falling off the edge of the earth, and the tenacious clinging to that idea by members of the Flat-Earth Society in the face of “overwhelming ” “scientific ” evidence. Put that into the current context, the debate about the intellectual legitimacy of “intelligent design”, and you are led to my conclusion: “The World is Flat ” is probably a book about faith-based decision-making and the teaching of intelligent design in the schools. This book is going to surprise. It will show that a flat earth is not a straw man at all, and that science is only another kind of religion, seeking to burn its heretics at the stake with all the vigor of traditional religion. Alas, the subtitle “A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century ” unsettles this brief flight of fancy about the content of this book, but it leaves the browser utterly confused. How could “The World is Flat ” and “A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century ” have anything to do with each other? That subtitle reminds me of the New Yorker cartoon that hung outside a history professor’s office at UCLA for many years. It depicted
