The article deals with the problems and prospects of formation of professional and personal competencies of graduates of higher educational institutions of modern employment. The main requirements of employers to the development of competencies of graduates, active development ofwhich should start at the beginning of the learning process specialty. In this study, the main task is to identify the main problems of the employment of young specialists, identify prospects for graduates who understand the urgency demanded by employers forming personal and professional qualities. Researchers have determined that one of the most important problem of employment of young specialists disparity is an existing knowledge and skills with which graduates out to employers. A further problem of employment of college graduates is the lack of (partial or complete) of some personal qualities of youngprofessionals with a high degree of assessment by employers necessary for thedevelopment of personnel potential of the enterprise in order to achieve economic results. In the article results of practical research of the author, basically confirming identified by scientists and practitioners the problem of young professionals during their employment. On the basis of the most common problems of employment of graduates, the author of a study (survey) among employers in the city of Yekaterinburg in their assessment of personal and professional competences of graduates as candidates for the workplace in order to highlight the most popular for the regional labor market. In addition, the author conducted a survey among the students to determine the presence of formation level demanded by employers of professional and personal competence, self-assessment of their condition and the intended result the level of formation of competences by the end of training. During questioning by the author revealed the following problems: lack of practical skills of young professionals and the discrepancy obtained in high school of theoretical knowledge of their reality. These same problems paying attention to research professionals. The article contains some recommendations, considered as the prospects for the successful employment of graduates, based on the wishes and requirements of employers to potential candidates for the job
