    The phytotoxic effect of 2,4-D amine, 2,4-DIBE-butachlor; butachlor, benthiocarb and molinate on rice plants were assessed. Applications of the herbicides at different time resulted in severe phytotoxicity when applied before seeding. Early postemergent applications were also generally phytotoxic, adversely affecting plant growth and grain yield. Late applications 8 to 10 weeks after seeding were least injurious.     The research used a descriptive analysis with qualitative approach. Departing from the phenomenon that appears in the PT. Budiman Subrata Niaga Pekanbaru is the low comfort of employees while performing work that resulted in the lack of commitment and raises employees desire to leave the company. The problem in this thesis is the communication patterns leader in improving employee loyalty. This study aims to determine how the processes and forms of communication patterns leader in increasing employee loyalty PT. Budiman Subrata Niaga Pekanbaru. The data in this study was obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, library research and internet searching. Data analysis techniques in this study is a model of data analysis techniques Miles and Hubberman by using the component data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and testing. Meanwhile, data validity checking techniques through extension of participation and triangulation.     Occurrence and characterization of shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli in raw meat, raw milk, and street vended juices in Bangladesh

    The major objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Shiga toxin (Stx)–producing Escherichia coli (STEC) in different types of food samples and to compare their genetic relatedness with STEC strains previously isolated from animal sources in Bangladesh. We investigated a total of 213 food samples, including 90 raw meat samples collected from retail butcher shops, 20 raw milk samples from domestic cattle, and 103 fresh juice samples from street vendors in Dhaka city. We found that more than 68% (n=62) of the raw meat samples were positive for the stx gene(s); 34% (n=21) of buffalo meats and 66% (n=41) of beef. Approximately 10% (n=2) of the raw milk and 8% (n=8) of the fresh juice samples were positive for stx. We isolated STEC O157 from seven meat samples (7.8%), of which two were from buffalo meats and five from beef; and no other STEC serotypes could be isolated. We could not isolate STEC from any of the stx-positive raw milk and juice samples. The STEC O157 isolates from raw meats were positive for the stx2, eae, katP, etpD, and enterohemorrhagic E. coli hly virulence genes, and they belonged to three different phage types: 8 (14.3%), 31 (42.8%), and 32 (42.8%). Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) typing revealed six distinct patterns among seven isolates of STEC O157, suggesting a heterogeneous clonal diversity. Of the six PFGE patterns, one was identical and the other two were =90% related to PFGE patterns of STEC O157 strains previously isolated from animal feces, indicating that raw meats are readily contaminated with fecal materials. This study represents the first survey of STEC in the food chain in Bangladesh

    Eksplorasi awal penentuan potensi cebakan hidrokarbon sebelumnya banyak dilakukan dengan menggunakan survei langsung atau terestrial yang banyak memakan waktu dan biaya. Penggunaan citra optik penginderaan jauh dan model ketinggian atau permukaan bumi digital mulai meningkat, sebagai jawaban terhadap kebutuhan untuk penilaian yang lebih akurat dan efisien pada tahapan tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi beberapa teknik pengolahan citra seperti band ratio, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), komposit false color, dan fusi citra yang menggabungkan Landsat 5 TM dengan SRTM untuk memberikan informasi sebagai dasar penentuan lokasi potensi cebakan hidrokarbon di sebagian Pantura Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis medan berupa informasi morfologi dan struktur geologi, yang diinterpretasi secara visual dan dilakukan cek lapangan. Hasil interpretasi kemudian dilakukan validasi menggunakan sumur minyak dan gas dan data seismik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa band ratio dapat membantu dalam mengidentifikasi kandungan mineral permukaan, sedangkan PCA dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis tutupan lahan dan pola kelurusan. Komposit false color saluran 457 (RGB) baik digunakan untuk interpretasi batuan dan struktur geologi, sedangkan fusi semua teknik pengolahan citra dengan DSM dapat digunakan untuk menentukan struktur geologi, jenis dan batas batuan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan empat area potensi cebakan hidrokarbon yang dikategorikan sebagai cebakan antiklinal. Integrasi dengan sumur minyak dengan gas menunjukkan tiga dari empat area potensi yang diidentifikasi dari citra terdapat sumur migas, sementara integrasi dengan data seismik menunjukkan bahwa dua lokasi interpretasi yang dilintasi jalur seismik menunjukkan bentukan cebakan hidrokarbon. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa interpretasi citra memberikan hasil yang baik dan dapat digunakan untuk pemetaan geologi dalam eksplorasi awal sebagai dasar penentuan potensi cebakan hidrokarbon

    Assessment of uptake of readily available plant micronutrients from soils amended with coal fly ash

    A greenhouse experiment was conducted on two soils of different texture, Tebuk sandy clay and sandy mine tailings. They were treated with different rates of coal fly ash (0, 10, 20, 40, 80 and 160 Mg ha-1) and the uptake of B, Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn by spinach grown in these soils were determined at six weeks growth The experimental set-up hosen for this study was a factorial 2 (different soil textures) X 6 (six rates of fly ash application) arranged in completely randomized design with 4 replications. Application of fly ash increased the pH and EC of the soils Tissue uptake of B, Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn and plant dry matter weight were influenced by fly ash application rates and soil texture type. Boron uptake increased while Cu, Fe, Mn and Zn uptake decreased with increases in addition of fly ash to the soils The highest spinach dry weight was obtained with the application of 20 Mg ha-1 for the Tebuk soil and 40 Mg ha-1 for the sandy mine tailings

    The objective of this research was to develop the student\u27s activity paper on the subject of reaction rate. The type of this research was reserach and development (R & D) with the 4-D development model which include Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research was to develop phase and be continue with a definite tryout. This research was conducted in FKIP Riau University. The object of this research was the students\u27 activity paper based on the concept hierarchy. The data analysis technique used for this research was descriptive statistic descriptive. The descriptive analysis done by calculated the percentage of validation value. The average score of valuation to four expediency aspect of student\u27s activity sheet by validator\u27s team, such as the content properness, the language properness, course and the graphical has expediency value continued is 86.88%, 91.25%, 81.25% and 85.93%. Thus, the average score totality of student\u27s activity paper based on the problem solving subject of salt hydrolysis is 90% which is in valid criteria, means that the LKPD Developed is proper to be use. Whereas percentage response of student or collegian is 93% to LKPD with positive criteria
