FACTOR DEMANDS OF LOUISIANA RICE PRODUCERS: AN ECONOMETRIC INVESTIGATION

A Diewert-flexible (dual) cost function was used to derive a system of conditional factor demand equations for Louisiana rice producers. Generalized Leontief cost and factor share equations were fitted for the 1955-87 period using Zellner's SURE system estimation procedure. The Aitken parameter estimates reveal that: (1) the optimal input mix of rice farmers varies with production scale, (2) the factor-augmenting technical change is labor and chemical saving but seed using, (3) pairwise input substitutions are limited, and (4) factor demands are own-price inelastic. This article is the result of research that talks about how the development of the tourism market of sharia in the Yogyakarta City. Sharia travel is a new travel trend worldwide has excellent prospects for development and this concept into new ways to develop tourism in Yogyakarta to uphold the culture and values of Islam. This study seeks to segment the tourism market in the Yogyakarta City and tourist developments seen from indicators sharia destination product and service quality, as well as merumukan attributes that are required in the development of sharia travel and recommends the development of a marketing strategy of sharia in the Yogyakarta City. Descriptive method used to describe the facts about sharia travel market in the Yogyakarta City. The results show that tourists visiting Yogyakarta come from various parts of the archipelago, with demographic and psychographic diverse. Yogyakarta has a great potential to be developed as a tourist destination islamic views of destination product and service quality by adding the necessary attributes and by conducting massive marketing with promotional mix. Implementasi Kebijakan Kurikulum Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 10 di Kota Pontianak

Implementasi kurikulum 2013 di SMPN 10 Pontianak belum dapat berjalan efektif yang dapat dilihat pendekatan studi implementasi yang dikemukakan oleh George C. Edwards III yang menjelaskan bahwa kebijakan dipengaruhi oleh 4 (empat) variabel yakni (1) komunikasi, (2) sumber daya, (3) disposisi, dan (4) struktur birokrasi, dan keempat variabel tersebut saling berhubungan satu sama lain. Deskripsi masing-masing variable yang dimaksud adalah : a) komunikasi, dimana sosialisasi dan pelatihan guru tentang kurikulum 2013 belum cukup bahkan masih banyak guru yang belum mendapatkan sosialisasi dan pelatihan sehingga hakikat dan esensi kurikulum 2013 belum dapat dipahami secara utuh ; b) sumber daya, dimana kompetensi guru sebagai implementor kurikulum 2013 masih banyak yang kurang serta buku-buku teks yang belum semuanya ada ; c) disposisi, dimana beberapa guru masih menggunakan kurikulum lama dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga tujuan pembelajaran kurikulum 2013 belum dapat terealisasi ; d) struktur birokrasi, dimana belum ada standar penilaian sikap dan psikomotor siswa yang baku serta belum ada standar diskripsi penilaian dalam rapor. Berdasarkan kondisi demikian, Departemen Pendidikan Kota Pontianak perlu mengadakan pelatihan yang lebih intensif dan maksimal lagi kepada para guru secara menyeluruh supaya guru-guru lebih dapat memahami esensi, hakikat dan tujuan kurikulum 2013 dan segera melengkapi buku pegangan guru dan buku-buku teks kurikulum 2013

The effect of a scanning flat fold mirror on a CMB B-mode experiment

We investigate the possibility of using a flat-fold beam steering mirror for a CMB B-mode experiment. An aluminium flat-fold mirror is found to add $\sim$0.075% polarization, which varies in a scan synchronous way. Time-domain simulations of a realistic scanning pattern are performed, and the effect on the power-spectrum illustrated and a possible method of correction applied.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures. Beyond locutionary denotations: exploring trust between practitioners and policy

This study reports the findings of a research on the trust relationship between practitioners in the Skills for Life (SfL) area and the policy that informs their practice. The exploration of this relationship was premised on an extended notion of trust relationship which draws from the Speech Act theory of Austin (1962; Searle 1969; Kissine 2008), leading to the claim that the existence of different layers of imports in textual analysis makes it possible for a trust relationship to exist between the human/physical and the non human/non physical. The study found that the majority of practitioners in the SfL field trust policy to deliver its inherent policy only to a limited extent. Amongst others, the study identified the impact of the perlocutionary import of policy text on practitioners as a viable reason for this limited level of trust. Such perlocutionary imports, it also found, have adverse impact on practitioners who are considered to have drawn from previous experience to mediate the import of contemporary policies

Effects of State Degeneration in 3D Quantum Lenoir Engine Performance

We study the performance of the quantum Lenoir engine using single-particle confined within the cubic potential. In 3D potential structure, particles degenerate into multiple states at identic energy level which occurs on the excitation state of the particles. Deliberating the degeneration effects, the confined particle has possibility to produce more energy efficiency as engine’s working substance. The particle is able to freely move in three directions of x, y, and z-axis simultaneously, which gives three degrees of freedom to the particle in the cubic potential. By limiting to two eigen states, a basic explanation to the condition of the particle was provided. The efficiency of 3D quantum Lenoir engine is better than the classical model of the Lenoir engine despite the similarity in the formulation. Moreover, we also consider the efficiency comparison between the 3D model, with some state modifications, and the 1D efficiency of the quantum Lenoir engine. As expected, degeneration of the particle’s states plays a role in the enhancement of the quantum Lenoir engine’s efficiency. Moreover, we also derived the power output of the 3D quantum Lenoir engine. Thus, this study clearly gives a sight of the performance of quantum Lenoir engine model in the 3D manner

Praktik Manajemen Laba: Studi Komparasi pada Perusahaan-Perusahaan yang Melakukan IPO Tahun 2012-2016

This research was aimed to obtain empirical evidence about the practice of earnings management between companies in manufacturing industry and financial sectors listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. This study adopted measurement of earnings management based on conditional revenue model approach. The population in this research was 41 manufacturing companies and financial sectors listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange to conduct an initial public offerings (IPO) in 2012-2016. The sampling technique was purposive method. The sample in this research establishment was 16 manufacturing industry and 22 financial sectors companies. The data analysis method using independent-samples t test, did the normality and homogenity test previously and hypothesis testing with mann-whitney test approach. The hypothesis testing results indicated that there is no significant difference between manufacturing industry and financial sectors who conduct an IPO in 2012-2016 to the practice of earnings management
