Confessor and penitent with bioethical problems
A confessor is not required to have special knowledge about bioethical issues.
In these cases the confessor needs to discern the internal dispositions of
the penitent; i.e., their repentance, conversion and the readiness to change.
The minister of reconciliation needs to keep in mind that this sacrament was
established for men and women who are sinners, and for this reason the confessor
should receive penitents and assume their good will to be reconciled
with the merciful God who is willing to be born in a humble heart.
The attack on human life touches the very core of the human person. In
this area there are no light or irrelevant issues and, therefore, the confessor
dealing with this problem is in contact with life and death. God is always first
in the sacrament of reconciliation. Let every confessor keep in mind that the
confessional is not a torture chamber but the place where the penitent experiences
God’s mercy and where they receive an invitation to change and to do
good. The penitent should always hear the truth and receive the assurance
of salvific love which, in a mysterious way, is at work in every human being
independently of their shortcomings and shortfalls.bp prof. dr hab.

Józefa Glempa, arcybiskupa metropolity gnieźnieńskiego i warszawskiego, Prymasa Polski. Tutaj jednak to koncentracja wokół szczegółowego zagadnienia dość precyzyjnie zakreślonego w tytule książki. Zawiera on wiele ciekawych elementów uszczegółowiających podejmowaną tematyką.

Consecrated Life means surrendering one’s life to God’s ministry for the good of the Church. It is important to notice the ecclesiastical dimension of this way of life. Consecration defines the proper place of the consecrated person in the community of the Church. Through the very act of consecration, one dedicates one’s life to the Church and expresses willingness to perform the ministry according Christ’s example, who was consecrated by the Father and sent to carry out His will. This call is also the mission of the Church in the world, in the spirit of the radical life of evangelical counsels. This consecration aims at the greater glory of God, at the building of the Church and at the salvation of the world, with the desire to attain perfect life in God’s kingdom. The Church has always very highly respected consecrated life – it refers both to the past and to the future and is always directed to the future. Consecrated people carry out multiple and various ministries endowed with graces from above to build the Church. Consecrated life is part of the very structure of the Church. This kind of life has in the Church its source and its existence, and it exists for the good of the Church. Being from the Church and in the Church, consecrated people are called to live in the spirit of community, expressed in Latin ad “sentire cum Ecclesia” (to think and feel with the Church).Życie konsekrowane to oddanie swego życia na służbę Bogu dla dobra Kościoła. To konsekracja określa właściwe miejsce osób konsekrowanych we wspólnocie Kościoła.

Biblical tradition referring to Cephas very clearly points out that already as Peter he was established the Rock of the Church. One of his tasks was to strengthen his brothers in faith and in the fidelity to the witness which one takes upon themselves while accepting faith. This was Peter – the oldest has it – who became the first witness to Christ’s resurrection. His fidelity, despite some difficulties, found its fulfillment in the witness of his martyrdom in Rome. It is clear, that Peter’s enduring office has exclusively religious sense. Peter’s successor has to give witness to the unity of faith and of the Church. However, the most important is Peter’s witness as the follower of Christ. The task of strengthening in faith assumes – at present - a call to ecumenism. The whole Peter’s ministry is duty of love. This witness is not free from suffering and from the dimension of martyrdom.Biblical tradition referring to Cephas very clearly points out that already as Peter he was established the Rock of the Church.
